I booked the San Giorgio for the night before our cruise from the port. The location is excellent--right across from the water and within walking distance of local restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to the cruise ship for 10 Euros per person and it was definitely worth it. Our luggage was loaded onto the bus and we were dropped off right at our embarkation point. I would agree with the comments that the hotel is only a 3 star-- the staff was very professional and the breakfas... Read more

We stayed here for one night before a cruise. Frankly that was enough. The hotel is basic. The rooms are 2/3 star at best. Very old fashioned and in need of refurbishment. In truth it's very expensive for what they provide. Our room was also very musty and just not fresh smelling. Breakfast is barely adequate and very basic. They kept running out of items the morning we were there. There was also a wait for tables. We ate in the restaurant the evening before as we arrived fairly late. The foo... Read more

Got a great deal 6 months before our cruise. Room was a small sea view which was old fashioned and perfectly placed for the seafront and town. Breakfast was cheap and cheerful 5/10. Do not use their transprot to the cruise terminal a shuttle runs from the rail station 170 yards up the road for 2 euros (10 from the hotel).

We stayed at this hotel two times between different cruises. Room was very adequate and staff great, especially Adriano who spoke good English. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. Transportation was provided to and from the cruise ship and if you are using the trains, this hotel is only an easy short walk. It is also very convenient to many shops and restaurants in town. A very nice breakfast was included with our room.

Booked one room for one night only. Fast check in. I asked front desk clerk about wireless key-password (WI-FI is free), he told me they have some issues and it`s not working. Lucky there was signal from another hotel in the area. I found the room acceptable - for a night only. TV was ridiculous small but there are plenty channels on a SKY HD receiver. Carpet was washed out and stained near the bathroom area. AC unit (split type) was doing the job well, without any funny smell. Bed was comfort... Read more

This hotel my wife and I stayed at for one night before catching a cruise ship from port. Spacious, clean and neat room with a window, great working air conditioner, big bed and good wifi service. Hotel is very well located close to train station but also close to shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and gave great service checking in and out. Thank you to all at the Hotel San Giorgio!

The hotel is tricky to get to from the main road, its visible from the road but if your driving. There is a small public car park in front of the hotel. Basically you need to be lucky to find an empty spot. Taking luggage to the hotel is also a challenge, the entrance has a small revolving door which just about takes a person and one case. Stops easily if you touch the glass door which is far to easy. There's a 10 euro per person bus to the cruise terminal and its very near a Hertz office so w... Read more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe room with a Fly and Stay Package. This included airport pickup and cruise ship drop off. The room included breakfast and free wifi. The hotel was situated on the waterfront with a small stroll to most shops and restaurants. Pickup at the airport was problem free and we travelled comfortably in a small bus to the hotel. The hotel is very nice and clean. We liked our one level room. Enjoyed walking to a restaurant nearby for dinner. The breakfast spread included was quite extensive and tasty. For extra charge which was well worth it the hotel shuttle van picked us up at the airport and direct to hotel. They also shuttled us on larger bus directly to the cruise ship. This would definitely be the way to go again if we were cruising out of this port. Hotel staff nice and friendly.

The room we had was a loft, so the bedroom area was up 2 very steep flights of stairs and overlooked the rest of the room. Very weird. The bed was also flat and hard. Our shower was even weirder than the loft design, with only half of it covered with glass so water went shooting all over the place. We did not eat in the restaurant, but it seemed very nice and the staff was friendly.

There was confusion for us at the airport as to the rendezvous point for the shuttle, so be sure to get that straight in advance. The hotel is old but well kept. We had drinks in the bar before dinner, replete with comped snacks, and that was swell. We were in one of the many-times-revi... Read more

Elegant Location & view is perfect for one or two nights prior to your cruise. Schedule the bus to the port as it is too far to walk and carry bags. Desk staff will accomodate early check-in of possible. Nice restaurant and bar. Wifi works well. Book directly with the hotel and they answer their emails regularly.

My family stayed at the San Giorgio Hotel in Civitavecchia, Roma's portal to the sea. *The hotel is a clean and lovely boutique hotel run by very sweet and attentive staff. Very professional. And honest, which completely impressed me. Adriano and Serban and their staff helped us with our luggage and answered all our questions. They envelop you with a sense of family pride in their hotel as well as the feeling that you are in good hands. We took a family room with 2 levels. It is narrow by A... Read more

Another mixed bag....... Lets start with the good Such an amazing location right on the sea front near the cruise terminal. A fairly vibrant weekend with a big carnival going on and many market stalls. Our room was on the front of the hotel and was one of the most exciting positioned rooms we have had for people watching. The hotel its self is very dated and drab. The breakfast was the worst ever! it seemed as if they took every left over they could find in the kitchen and put that out. People w... Read more

Stayed at hotel 2 nights before boarding a cruise ship. Ate at different spots in city but found food in hotel was much better. Breakfast spread was a big plus. Rooms typical European. Front desk personnel very accommodating and all spoke English. Will stay again when cruising in area.

As a pre criuse hotel in Civitavecchia, the Hotel San Giorgo is a reasonable option. It is well located on the waterfront and close to the cruise terminal. The most important thing is that they run a shuttle bus to the various cruise line terminals. Do not think that you can walk to any of the terminals from any of the hotels, particularly with all your luggage. When planning our trip, we looked at google maps and thought that the terminals were quite close - they are not. The hotel is cle... Read more

......and that's a fairly good summary. This should suit most visitors who seem to stay for just a night or two before or after a cruise. The hotel is 'unspectacular', but has decent, clean, reasonably well appointed rooms, friendly, helpful staff whether at reception or the breakfast buffet, and it is in an ideal location for the station, or a walk along by the seafront or restaurants and shops in the town. The breakfast which was included, was much better than expected, (for a European Cont... Read more

We stayed one night at Hotel San Georgio and found the arrangements very convenient. The hotel had arranged for transfer to the port from the airport and all arrangements worked out well. It is an older hotel, with old world charm, right across from the ocean. We had dinner in the dining room which was fine and next morning a great breakfast. The hotel provided transfer next morning from the hotel to the ship and it all worked out well. We found the total package very convenient, however... Read more

1 night Jun 2016. This hotel looks grande and has the price to match. The room was ok but the bathroom was setup to suit disabled customers. Breakfast was lovely and it was on the top floor so the views over the sea, fort and port was lovely. For the price we paid we expected more so would not stay again.

4 stars and counting ! Beautiful view - lovely rooms and perfect for cruise lovers. Close to the train station if coming from Rome (1/2 block) and the hotel offers a shuttle to the cruise port for 10 Euro each ..a great deal. The continental breakfast had a little bit of everything and it was a perfect way to start the day as the breakfast room overlooks the waterfront. They even stored our luggage while we went to Rome for the weekend - it was a great value for the money and we will definitely... Read more

Loved meeting people here who will be on our cruise. Great European hotel with nice staff and well-run. Comfy bed, adequate space and nice breakfast. I will use this hotel again if we cruise into or out of Rome. As many have said, VERY short walk from the train station and impossible to get lost.

We stayed in the 2 level apartment. It was small downstairs with the fold out couch assembled, but plenty of room for a small family. We have a 2 year old and he slept on the fold out couch and my husband and I upstairs. There is a large bath, twin basins and a hand held shower. A small desk to work at and a small mini bar fridge. There is also free WiFi available at the hotel. The breakfast was basic, but still plenty of variety...more than enough sweet pastries to choose from! The hotel is o... Read more

The rooms are old, and the beds are quite hard, but the service and charm of this hotel were a highlight of our stay in Italy. The 2 story windowed doors open up onto a small terrace and a beautiful view of the ocean. The sound of the waves was a very calming way to get to sleep. The upstairs bedroom was novel, but a little difficult if you need to visit the bathroom during the night. The hotel restaurant offers an adequate variety of meals at all sittings. The staff are helpful and friendly, a... Read more

Booked this hotel for a one Night pre-cruise stay approx 10 months ago through Expedia. The night before our stay we received an email saying they had to relocate us to another hotel because of boiler problems. They also gave us the choice of cancelling our reservation at no charge enabling us to rebook a hotel on our own. We opted to have them relocate us but the hotel they chose was hotel brizi which was located approximately 15 minutes out of town and in the middle of nowhere . There we... Read more

The hotel from the outside has great character but beware it has a number of steps that have to be negotiated to get into the hotel. We arrived in the evening, there was no doorman and even though the front desk saw us arrive, (bearing in mind my mother is 80) there was no attempt to help with the luggage or welcome us. We just caught the last service in the empty restaurant, again the front desk said they would stow the luggage and it wasnt until I insisted they took it to the room that we sa... Read more

We spent one night at Hotel San Giorgio prior to boarding a cruise, over all the hotel was OK, the rooms were a little dated, but it was in a good location with several restaurants within walking distance.

When we arrived at the front desk they announced that we had been upgraded. We very so excited until we got into the room and found that the room was on 2 levels. Livingroom and bathroom at the bottom and bedroom upstairs in a loft. for a younger couple this would be totally perfect ..... but I had just had knee surgery and found it very painful to walk up and down th stairs to the bathroom. I didn't complain to the front desk as we were totally exhausted when we arrived and just wanted to go ... Read more
