The stuff was friendly, the terrace is amazing overlooking the park. the breakfast room is in an old theater with high painted ceiling, a stage with a piano and a harpist playing beautiful music in the morning. The room was spacious with enough storage. Lounge area with access to kitchen where fresh pasta is being made.

Booked for 3 nights in November. Got a good deal through travel agency for basic room. Room on 1st floor was small in comparison to most hotels I've stayed in. However, bathroom was bigger than most. Quite dark, as only bed side lights on one side of the room. Small window overlooking central courtyard and interior of hotel. Small drinks fridge / minibar and kettle so basics covered. No cupboard space for storage, only 3 open shelves on one side of the bed. Also open hanging rail for several ite... Read more

Constructed in an old theater, it is now a superb place to stay. The rooms are big with high ceiling. The breakfast is delicious and the room astonishing. The overall service is beyond expectations without being pushy. Beyond the hotel is a park suitable for running; not advisable for ladies at night. Next time I'll wanna stay here again.

This hotel was just spectacular: historic with a modern interior and service like no other we experienced in Italy. The reception staff, especially Johnny and Guilia, were absolutely fabulous. They are competent, intelligent, friendly, helpful and really worth noting. We stayed at excellent hotels during our stay in Italy but none could rival our experience here. The buffet breakfast had fresh, hand made cheese and cake on the menu. The Michelin-starred restaurant on their property is also excel... Read more

We loved I Portici Hotel. It is luxurious and if your can book off season or in advance they have some small cheap rooms off of the lobby and interior garden. These are lovely rooms, you just can't open the window wide as people in the lobby will have a great view of you. That aside, the room, bathroom, bed and the breakfast were all great and definitely a cut above anything else we stayed in for the 100E plus range. The best was the I Portici Restaurant. Definitely do the multi-taste many cou... Read more

Was pleasantly surprised on all levels as I booked this hotel quite randomly and without much research. The hotel was easy to find and very well located , it's a 2-5 minute walk from the Piazza Maggiore and many of the sights. The young lady @ the front desk was super sweet (Maria), spoke fluent English and was able to help me with a tonne of stuff, restaurants, local cuisine- the works. I was impressed by the level of service at the reception, they were so obliging and willing to help. A bonus ... Read more

I have spent one night in this hotel during a business trip and I have really liked the place. The reception is spacious and at the arrival the personnel is very warm and useful. The rooms are spacious and clean and the WIFI connection is very fast. The restaurant and its terrace are very nice. The last thing I have to mention is the perfect hotel location near the city center.

The I Portici Hotel is beautiful. A former palazzo, the ceilings are around 16 feet high. The floors are terrazzo. The rooms are lovely and clean. The bathroom was excellent. There were lovely little touches like a candle in the evening when the beds were turned down. Service was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all is the location: 5 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes from central Bologna. The city is very beautiful and we really lucked out with our choice of hotel. Myro... Read more

Went here with some time to kill between segments of a trip. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Great bed. Shower a little small if you are bigger. Staff is very helpful with no waiting in a spacious lobby. See other comments on the very nice restaurant. Walking distance to everything but easy to get to. 15 minutes to the airport.
