We wanted a base to use in Puglia to allow day trips to the various attractions. The Hotel is ideal, close to the Bari Centrale railway station and close to all the motorways to allow easy travel by car. It is easy to find and more important it has it own car park but this can fill up quickly as there are many conferences held daily at the hotel. The room we had was large, clean and well appointed with a good bathroom and excellent shower. The only issue was that it overlooked the railway lines ... Read more

Our room was lovely. Spacious and spotless. Very near the Bari train station. The best thing was the restaurant was fluent in gluten free. Our waiter helped me with several gf options and presented me with a gf bread basket. The swordfish was perfectly prepared and my husband raved about his beef steak.

After spending 11 days on the road, in hotels with varied quality, it was nice to end our vacation in this little "diamond in the rough". It's in an industrial area but close to the train station. Dinner was very good. I had pre-purchased breakfast which was excellent. Not the "continental" breakfast that is offered in most hotels. Actually had meat and eggs made to order. I will always use Mercure and Accor hotel group as much as possible.

The bar / restaurant was good, plenty of choice. We had a very nice evening meal. Breakfast is varied & of nice quality. There is plenty of parking. The staff were friendly & efficient. I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is about a 20-30 minute (easy) walk from the city center and Bari Vecchia, so if you're not in a rush, it's a good way to see the area. So much beautiful architecture if you're able to overlook the graffiti along the thoroughfares, and there are plenty of cafes/bars around. It's also a very short walk to the train stations (~5-10min, Bari Centrale or Stella Quintana (sp?)). The hotel grounds are well kept, and it feels like you're in a city oasis when yo... Read more

Easy free parking with our rental car. Great staff, easy check in. Very clean and well maintained. Very spacious room with decent beds, safe, fridge, TV. Great breakfast, fresh and good choices. Nice heated pool, although pool towels should be free (3 Euro for towel rental, can't bring room towel but your own is ok). Lifeguard is a bit annoying, telling people what to do. Location is fine, close to restaurants and shops, but not in the centre of Bari (take a taxi or drive own car to parking in c... Read more

I was initially a bit disappointed because my room was rather small and the view was not exactly what I was expecting, looking into an unattractive backyard. Also, the hotel is located in an area that is not particularly interesting or charming. However, on the overall, I am rather satisfied with my staying. The room decoration is nice, comfortable, and very clean. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool looked very clean. Within the hotel ground, you are in a oasis of peace. Breakfast i... Absolutely stunning hotel with great pool area and fabulous grounds to walk around. It really feels as if you are in the countryside instead of 15 minutes walk from Bari centre. The rooms are very large (we had a quadruple room) with great rainforest showers. Food is very good and well priced. The breakfast is plentiful with a chef making fresh omelettes and pancakes. Staff were friendly but the hotel is poor considering the price. Rooms stank of smoke. Bed was comfy enough. The gardens are pretty and the pool looked great, not busy at all either. The walk into town not very nice - find in day but you wouldn't want to do at night. We chose to stay here as we flew in to Bari but would recommend missing Bari and going straight to polignano instead!

Our room 321 on third floor was great! Probably the only one with a balcony in the whole hotel. A huge balcony where we could freely smoke without annoying anyone else. Our room was very clean and it didn't have carpets, making our space even better and up to date. The staff was very helpful and polite. The beds were new and confortable and the pool was very good, but the breakfast was worst than allright. Free parking. Yes. We would visit again!

A very nice and modern hotel that lies a little bit outside the center of Bari, 20 min walk with nice hotel room. We were a family of three and got a big and nice room with a big bathroom. The breakfast was OK, a lot to choose from and it is served between 07,00-10,00. Situated on a busy dirty road by the railway lines, a good hike from the city centre, entering the hotel grounds is a pleasant surprise. The hotel itself is an attractive place, a modern building set in gardens among original villas. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped. A cool, tree-filled bastion in the midst of the dusty & dry summer streets of Bari. This Mercure was a real surprise upon arrival, it was like teleporting to another location. The staff are friendly and efficient and speak plenty of English, the breakfast, while quite extensive is very much geared to the Italian style of sweet breakfast, although the cook can prepare eggs and what not when he's not having a sly drink. Me and my boyfriend recently stayed in the Mercure hotel in Bari for two nights and on the whole enjoyed our stay. There were some obstacles like no fish in the breakfast buffet and only instant Nescafe coffee available from the coffee machine (this is really a shame for a 4 star hotel in Italy in particular). You can take a Mercure to Bari but you cannot take Bari out of Mercure. Abrupt front desk manager (more like a headmistress than someone willing to assist you). Made one feel that one did not belong. Plastic glasses in toilets and for drinking water at breakfast. Really! Breakfast was a bun fight...100 guests clamouring for tables and counters meant for 50..unpleasant. I would have given this 4 stars but the service in the restaurant was terrible so I brought it down to 3. The location is good if you are in transit as it is close to the train station. Bari is not a city I would bother visiting otherwise. Room was spacious and clean. Quiet. Bathroom a bit dark and shower water temperature cycled hot and cold. Service at the restaurant for dinner was rude and terrible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Our room was very spacious and beautifully clean; the pool was a great place to relax after sightseeing and we also enjoyed wandering in the beautiful grounds. The location was certainly convenient for the train, but the approach road was busy at all times and we did not enjoy walking along it when returning to the hotel. Fortunately the hotel was set well back from the road and we could not see the railway opposite from our room.

This is a nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Bari with lovely grounds and a nice pool.
