we stayed at this property for two nights on a recent Catholic pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi. The hotel was comfortable with minimal extras so the Two star rating was appropriate. Our room was average size with the bathroom having the shower and toilet behind the same curtain. That took a little getting used to. The room furniture was inexpensive and worn. Our being with a group doesn't allow me to compare the room rate with the room. Their restaurant had good, hot food and the lobby bar was a g... Read more

We were on a walking pilgrimage and arrived in Assisi from Valfabricca about 12 miles away. We were tired and found that the hotel was up in the northeast corner of Assisi. Figuring that tourists would not find this hotel tucked in back streets of Assisi we looked forwards to quiet. Unfortunately it was within a week of the Feast of St Francis and the hotel was full of Italian tour bus patrons. And the hotel dining room was noisy and full of people closely packed. But the food was wonderful and ... Read more

Having stayed here previously we decided to return to La Rocca. Once again a warm and friendly reception from all. This time we traveled by car and this hotel has easily accessible parking - something which is quite problematic in Assisi. The rooms are spotless and comfortable and spacious. Most places in Assisi are easily accessible from the hotel even though they are down the hill.. A continental breakfast is part of the cost of the room in an attractive dining room.

Stayed for three nights around New Year 2015/16. As this is a great season for visiting Assisi, we were lucky to find this place in the old town. I see that some people are complaining that it's far from San Fransesco - or hard to work up the road. I really don't understand. San Fransesco is about 1 km from there - and you can reach everything you want to see by walking, using small lanes, narrow streets or the main street. Of course it's climbing at some places - good to know for walking-impai... Read more

Basic comfortable hotel, nice rooms (if a little small, but it is Italy) good set meal and friendly bar. Not at all bad for the money, but at the very top of the hill and a long climb after a hard day.

I would be more than happy to make this my regular dining spot in Assisi. The food was excellent and was good value for money. The menu was quite extensive for an Italian Restaurant. It is a part of a hotel so the dining for hotel patrons has already been laid out and reserved ( I think) and visitors get the remainder, however they did break up a setting for us. The staff were mostly positive and cheerful and they were very attentive.

Fabulous bar staff, Silvana especially.warm ,nothing too much trouble, speaks a little English.Carletto very helpful too. Stop for a coffee or a nice glass of wine and take in the atmosphere. This place is like heaven on earth, take five to take it all in. Restaurant probably the best place to eat in Assisi and the accommodation very reasonable.
