I visited this hotel on a girls trip June 2015. There were 3 of us and although we had a king-sized bed, they kindly brought us an extra single bed. The room was quite large which was very nice. I chose this hotel because it's so unique! It's an old convent with interesting architecture and the rooms themselves are all white and modern. Our room wasn't quite ready when we checked in so we walked around. The grounds are the most beautiful I've seen. It was fun just to explore the place! Flowers... Read more

This was our second stop on the Amalfi coast and we could not have been more pleased. We stayed 2 Nights. There is a valet guy that greets you when you pull into their parking area right across the street from the front entrance. You take the elevator up to the hotel level, then a second elevator up to the 5th floor where the check in is. They seat you outside and give you a welcome drink (non-alcoholic) while they get your reservation details in order. The view from the terrace is absolutely b... Read more

Located on a cliff above Amalfi with magnificent views from every corner. An old convent that was brilliantly changed to a modern five stars hotel. The room and bathroom were very large and fully equipped . Excellent breakfast there are 2 restaurants options in the evenings: Italian an Japanese with good food and wine . Service was excellent. Definitely the location for a romantic holiday . The only remark I have- with the price tag there should be more attention to details and going the ext... Read more

I was recommended to stay here by a friend. It was more money then we generally pay for a hotel, but I really wanted to try it. It was totally worth it! The service was amazing, the welcome drinks with a breathtaking view while they got us checked in was a nice touch. They helped arrange a driver to Positano for dinner(the ferry was not running due to rough seas). They also arranged a driver to the airport for us, our day trip to Capri, and a hiking trip from Amalfi through Valle della Ferr... Read more

Expectations high after Positano, the parking attendant was on the ball and we went up.This building is an old/in parts ancient convent/monastery and it certainly has the atmosphere. You feel compelled to recognise the history of the building. The interior design is probably the guide for minimalism. If you want to have a room that has been the home of quiet reflection and solitude for centuries there are plenty. We had a new room on the 7th floor which was very good. We had the luxury of atten... Read more

After coming from Sorrento and being kind of out of the way we were hoping the NH would be a bit closer to town. When we arrived it was hard to grasp the entire hotel until we were able to explore it for a few hours. It's an old convent that was converted to a hotel. The views were stunning and the hotel while only having fifty or so rooms seemed very large and sprawling. Every room seemed to have a view down the cliffs over the ocean. The walk to town is pleasant and about 10 minutes by ... Read more

Worked with Antonio at the NH Grand Convento to plan a party on the pool deck for 100 people. What a night! First off, our guests were all amazed with the beautiful view and beautiful hotel. We spent the first 4 nights of our honeymoon at the Convento. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was excellent (we had breakfast and dinner every day), the facilities were top notch and the hotel's location is very handy for quick access to town. The hotel upgraded our room (to the Presidential Suite) which we very much appreciated. Similar to all the communal areas of the hotel, the room had incredible views across the Amalfi Bay. We ... Traveled for over a day to arrive at what we thought would be an amazing holiday. Much to my disappointment this highly expensive hotel lacked service and attention to detail. Our room was average and had no A/C. When I asked for another accommodations I was told I could perhaps get a room but only for one night. The receptionist was well aware we had no air due to no a blackout that occurred prior to arrival but still placed us in a hot room. After a 36 hour journey from Brazil here, I wouldn't... Read more

The spa at Grand Convento Di Amalfi was a great experience! The therapist Nicol was a delight! Very professional, was really adaptable for a strong deep tissue massage and provided an excellent overall spa experience. I would highly recommend visiting here, not only for the incredible views that the Grand Convento has an offer, but for the excellent service and smiling + delightful personality of the staff! This was our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again!! Ben.

We got married in this hotel and it was absolutely beautiful in every way. Its a converted 13th century monastery and has been beautifully and tastefully renovated! It has a half hourly ahuttle service into Amalfi town which took 5 minutes but we decided to walk instead which involved a lot of steps, but meant we didnt have to visit the gym :) The massage therapist was excellent! The staff were fantastic too! I give it 10 out of 10!

We stayed here for 2 nights and didn't want to leave! Hotel was amazing. Best point was the fantastic view from the infinity pool. Staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. We ate lunch here once and it is worth noting that food and drinks are expensive compared to town. However the food was lovely. It is easy to get to town from here, a lift down to the road and then a 5 - 10 minute walk down some stairs to the front. (They are a bit of a killer on the way back up!) Rooms were very ... We chose this hotel as our base for our week away to celebrate our 20th anniversary. That is what all the guests said. The Cloisters at the hotel was the perfect setting for a wedding. The dinner on the Walk of the Monks was perfect. Sadly words fail me on the quality of our stay here. All I can say is that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. The staff were excellent from the minute we arrived ,s special thanks to Fabia who made our stay so special. If I had one negative it would have to be on the restaurant which they say is an Italian Japanese infusion ...more confusion. However having said that I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Perched on the side of the hill above the Amalfi marina is a special hotel with fantastic views. After arriving by any of a number of hair raising transit, the peace and quiet of the coverted convent was very welcome. The room we had was on the small side, as you would expect in a convent, but the view was spectacular. Stayed at Convento Di Amalfi for 4 days. Absolutely stunning property with first class service. Hotel delivers as advertised and more. Had a room on the 8th floor with a terrace overlooking the sea. Spectacular. Staff was professional and courteous and very helpful. Infinity edge pool on cliff. Beautiful grounds with ancient church. Short walk to town. Excellent food/beverage. The only thing I found odd was the restaurant Kyushu is Japanese themed. we dined there one night. It was very good, but... Read more

Travelled with my spouse and college age sons. Our rooms were on the top floor with balconies overlooking the sea. Everything about our visit to Amalfi was wonderful. The hotel is elegant and sophisticated. It combines the best of modern amenities with respect for the history of the building, a former convent. Meals were excellent. The views are breathtaking from the rooms and public spaces. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager took time to get to know the clients. We end... Read more

This is an incredible hotel for the area. It has to be top 2. You will not be disappointed. Take a private boat up and down the coast. Other than that you will not get a better view. The pool is really nice. They even had a musical that was done in the cloister.

We decided for this hotel as our second destination while visiting Amalfi coast. After few days at Villa Fiorentina in Positano the bar was set very very high. In the front of the lower part of the hotel (there are few parts of it going up from the road) there is a parking paid 25 euro a day. There is a parking boy who keeps your keys and protect the car from the sun and sometimes they also give some water cans for a travel. The lobby area is very nice, next to it there is la restaurant. I have ... Read more

Beautiful location, great property, supportive staff. Pool is perfect, spa small but great services. This hotel is located at the top of a large hill, ninety-one steps to access the property. They have a shuttle service down to the center of town, which is only ten minutes away.

Probably you are paying for the area here, and even though it was an architectural splendor I personally felt it was far too much money for what you got. It's in an old convent so lots of lifts and stairs which create character but also means a long time to get to your room! Decor was minimalist to the point of being a bit cold, but in certain areas such as the restaurant it really worked. We were upgraded to a suite and the handle was falling off the patio door, toilet roll holder falling apart... Read more

Can't say enough wonderful things about this Cliffside Resort! Stayed for a week with my wife on our Honeymoon. Staff was amazing and location couldn't have been better. Seconds from the port where the public Ferry's are available to take you to Capri, Posatano, Sorrento, ect. Highly recommend the half day private charter if you're looking for a romantic excursion. Concierge works with a great company that has a range of boats. Pack a lunch, drinks, and potable speaker any you cant miss! Took us... Read more

The Japanese/Med fusion dinner was spectacular. The hamachi melted in our mouths unlike any hamachi we've ever had. Pricey dinner but well worth it. Our room was gorgeous with an unobstructed view of the Amalfi coast overlooking a small marina. The pool area features an infinity pool that sports a spectacular view of the Med and the yachts. Front desk staff was always helpful. Only drawback was the air conditioner that seemed to always underwhelm, resulting in us having to ask for a fan at 3 ... Read more

There are so many fantastic things to say about this hotel but it is not perfect. The view is spectacular and I think this is the main reason for the pricey rooms. Our room was a private suite and we had a private terrace which was secluded, had amazing views and got plenty of sun. The room was lovely, from reading previous reviews I was expecting small but it was fine. Issues were the shower door didn't close, so leaked out and you can only open the door so far to get out due to the shower he... Read more

I've been all over the world, and this is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever visited. This hotel is a beautiful covered convent, perched high on the cliffs above the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. The rooms are small, but absolutely gorgeous, with lovely terraces overlooking the coast. Everything in this place just sparkles. Bougainvillea covered columns, sweeping views, friendly staff, and everything that makes the Amalfi Coast so magical. Our favorite part was skipping the elevator ... Read more

My association with this hotel commenced when I was a young mum, and had a chance meeting on a coach with an elderly woman whose husband had surprised her with an anniversary holiday here in the 1990's. It sounded too amazing and I vowed that I would visit one day. This finally happened for us in 2012 when celebrating our second honeymoon and 30th wedding anniversary. And yes, it did not disappoint (as my trip advisor review from that time will attest). It was a dream come true! More recently th... Read more

I have stayed there for the first time this year and the view is breath-taking. The interior of this hotel is all white, modern, great and you can see the convent literally inside the hotel. I have stayed in the imperial suite (309 or 306) and it was spread on 3 floors: entrance with living room, bedroom and bathroom. Windows opening directly to the Coast. inside all white, very luxurious and decorated with great taste. The Chef is a great guy and the restaurant food quality is amazing. (Japa... Read more

This was really an amazing place. The facilities are magical. Deep serenity, beautiful and warm simplicity, extraordinary views and surrounding nature. The best service I have encountered in years : professional, helpful, proactive and kind people. A great breakfast. Only minus : the restaurant. Too pity as the surroundings are magnificent. But when you go to Italy, you partly go there to taste Italian food. Having a restaurant focused on Japanese-Fusion food is ok, if you have at least sufficie... Read more
