After a late arrival, we stayed at the property for one night in January. With an early departure the next day, I am unable to comment on the location other than the fact that it seemed to be very close to the sea. A windy, stormy night sent us scrambling inside the lobby, which we found to be very spacious. We found our queen bedroom to be somewhat cramped. While there was a rack on which to open my wife's suitcase, I found my suitcase to be an exercise implement by lifting and putting it on th... Read more

Hotel Gilgal was great. First time in Israel and after a hair-raising taxi ride, we were greeted by the very lovely Jacob (not the owner Jacob). Really friendly service, particularly at the reception where nothing was a problem - in fact it was all met with humour and good spirits! Another highlight was Breakfast. Every day from 7-11am, an amazing spread of middle eastern delights of hommus, all sorts of fish, cheeses, fruit, pastries, eggs, breads and more! You could stay there all day sampl... Read more

We've just returned from a week at Hotel Gilgal. The purpose of this visit was to show our 10 year old son Israel. The hotel is located fairly centrally in Tel Aviv and is exceptionally easy to reach by public transport. There is no need to take a taxi to or from the airport as the train will take you one stop to HaHagana Station then you can take bus number 104 or 204 to Ben Yehuda Street. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. All of the bus drivers are helpful and will... Read more

Very friendly place - lovely service, helpful and welcoming. Delicious breakfast on a 6th floor - remember to go one floor up to the roof terrace to enjoy beautiful city views. Very close to the city beach ???. Rooms are clean. Ask for higher floors if available.

My room was very good, clean & welcoming, with modern bathroom facilities en suite. Reception gave good advice on where I could have dinner close by. Buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, situated at the top of the hotel with views of the sea & could eat outside or inside. Went on a free city tour from the hotel which was very good and arranged a day trip to Jerusalem & Holocaust Memorial at Yad Vashem, also through hotel which I paid for through one of their brochures. Free tea & ... Read more

Visited Tel Aviv for conference, all the hotels were prebooked, so got GIlgal via Makemytrip. Overall a decent hotel. Best part is the front desk staff, specially a guy called Victor. He is very nice and helpful. The rooms are small but comfortable. There is free tea and coffee in the lobby and in the room. I was not particularly impressed with the breakfast. They make sunny side up eggs and put it in the tray which makes them cold. The view as expressed by other reviewers about the 6th floor ... Read more

I just got back from a 5-day trip to Tel Aviv. Stayed at the Gilgal and really enjoyed it. It's literally just a couple of minutes from the beach. The breakfast room and the sun terrace at the top of the hotel are great - views across the city. The breakfast offer was good with lots to choose from. My room was fine and the bed was very comfortable. Good air con and cleaned daily. The reception staff were helpful and the free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. I'd certainly stay at Gilgal agai... Read more

This place is a dump! Rooms are small, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Bathroom is ridiculous. Construction of shower sprays water all over the bathroom. Paint was peeling from the walls in our room and the walls around the A/C ducting was all black! And all this was in my "upgraded" room that I paid extra for!!

I stayed in Gilgal during a business trip. Rooms were a little small but very comfortable. Breakfast room on the top floor was excellent, with great views of the Mediterranean sea. Breakfast was totally local with a great selection of cooked vegetables and legumes, a great selection of local cheeses and fruites. A great breakfast for a 3 stars Hotel. Staff was great and extremely helpful. There was a nice wet bar in the loby with complimentary coffee and tea, water, refreshments and snacks. It w... Read more

Fantastic hotel! Great service and plassent people. The breakfast was awesome on the 6 floor with a marvelous view! Even with the new buildings in construction you can still see the beach and the city of Tel Aviv? 4 minutes walk to the beach. Free WiFi even on the top roof! Nice wall paintings!!
