The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable and had all the necessities including safe and refrigerator and closet space. Within short walking distance of beach and restaurants. Easy to walk to nearby attractions too. The food was excellent! I think it was included in our room cost. The one downside was noisy streets at night, but it was also a holiday, so that played into it.

One block from the beach. The communal areas are quite nice but the rooms are small. The bathroom looked quite dated. Dinner is served in the basement. Good breakfast buffet. Frequented by mid sized tour groups

Lovely comfortable hotel - run by Christian Owners - it has a unique relaxed atmosphere - I guess what is known as a boutique hotel. The rooms are smallish but clean and functional, communal areas well kept and inviting. Free tea and coffee and cake at 4pm. Sumptuous breakfast served on the 6th floor terrace with views to the city and beach. Dinner served in the basement on some nights only. Good position for many of the main Tel Aviv attractions - Beach, Carmel market, Sarona, Central shopping ... Read more

Nice boutique hotel. Located one block from the beach on a quiet street. Close to good beach restaurants and shops. The rooms are a little small but comfortable. There is a small refrigerator and good size closet. The bed was comfortable and the A/C works great! The breakfast and dinner was included. The dinner was ok. It was buffet style in the basement with a decent selection of food. The breakfast was also ok. Located on the roof top. Too bad they're building right across from rooftop view. ... Read more

Overall, the hotel is okay for one night ?? the receptionist is absolutely fantastic, he even helped us make a restaurant reservation in the city center by calling them. The breakfast offering is out of this world ?? absolutely everything you'd ever want and more. Now for the downside: loud, loud, LOUD. We were on the first floor and it was a nightmare. We closed all the windows but the street noises sounded like they were doing construction work inside the room. There was also a steady dri... Read more

So glad to have landed in Hotel Gilgal after a long day in the Tel Aviv sun. Such a perfect location - close to the beach, a quick ride from Jaffa, and near the main streets and markets. From the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth of the staff and the positive energy of the boutique space. My room and all other areas I saw were immaculate, the colors and overall decor making it feel fresh and airy. I wish I took the time to stroll all of the floors as I really enjoyed looking at the incr... Read more

Last week I stayed for 4~5days in Gilgal. Very close to Marina- bathing, walking, food etc. Bus access (On Ben Yehuda St & Allenby St). Compact rooms. Ideal for 2 or at max 2 adult + 1 child. Amazing breakfast- lots of variety, fresh. Can use the upper deck for reading / lazing or having breakfast. Unlimited coffee and good Wifi connectivity. Lot of eateries and night life available around the hotel Not a popular one amongst the locals. Far away from train connectivity. Unfortunate that buildi... Read more

My husband and I enjoyed 5 nights at Hotel Gilgal and would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel to anyone. Close to the beach, a 30+ minute walk to Jaffa, & 10 minute walk to markets make this a very central location. We really appreciated both Jonathan and Viktor on reception. Always caring and prompt to help in anyway needed. They added warm hospitality to our stay and their excellence in service is a credit to the Hotel Gilgal. Especially when its for people like us who are first... Read more

For the money, this was a real find. Rooms were small, but bed was very comfortable, and, unlike many other hotels in Israel, the double bed was really one mattress, not two pushed together. A/c in the room was excellent. We loved the breakfast, which had many choices with fresh fruit, pastries, and good coffee, as well as hot dishes, cheeses, yogurts and the usual Israeli spread. The location is lovely, a quick walk to the beach, to historic Bialik Street, and a little farther away, the Carmel ... Read more

The Hotel Gilgal is truly special. The receptionists were attentive and the lobby was very pleasant. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. There is a library where you may choose a book to read and sit in the lobby. The ambiance is peaceful, and there is a beautiful mural on the wall that takes you back to the beauty and holiness of ancient Israel when you look at it. I have fond memories of my time there. It was truly a blessing, and I am very thankful for the experience I had during my s... Read more

I stayed in Gilgal during a business trip. Rooms were a little small but very comfortable. Breakfast room on the top floor was excellent, with great views of the Mediterranean sea. Breakfast was totally local with a great selection of cooked vegetables and legumes, a great selection of local cheeses and fruites. A great breakfast for a 3 stars Hotel. Staff was great and extremely helpful. There was a nice wet bar in the loby with complimentary coffee and tea, water, refreshments and snacks. It w... Read more

This place is a dump! Rooms are small, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Bathroom is ridiculous. Construction of shower sprays water all over the bathroom. Paint was peeling from the walls in our room and the walls around the A/C ducting was all black! And all this was in my "upgraded" room that I paid extra for!!

I just got back from a 5-day trip to Tel Aviv. Stayed at the Gilgal and really enjoyed it. It's literally just a couple of minutes from the beach. The breakfast room and the sun terrace at the top of the hotel are great - views across the city. The breakfast offer was good with lots to choose from. My room was fine and the bed was very comfortable. Good air con and cleaned daily. The reception staff were helpful and the free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. I'd certainly stay at Gilgal agai... Read more
