We have visited Israel once or twice a year for the last 15 years or so. In that time when not staying with family have stayed at the Dan on many occasions. First the "downside" - the hotel is not new, it has lots of "weird" or "apparently dead/poorly utilized "spaces and some would find this unsatisfactory. The rooms are somewhat tired Now the "upside" 1 the location opposite Frishman Beach- it is the best of any of the hotels. I stayed here for a business trip and I can't say I would come back. The hotel is incredibly dark, with no noticeable natural light. To add to this, all of the furniture and carpet is dark and it feels very old. My room was not not one of the refurbished ones and at $300 per night, it is simply second rate. The bathroom was by far the best part of the room, although that wasn't particularly hard. The upside of the Dan is that you are on the beach and close to the port and other restaurants.

I stayed here with two of my children and we had the sea view room. Having read other reviews I was concerned it would be dark and out of date but the room itself and its fittings were great - modern, practical and comfortable. The mattress was too hard but that's a personal choice. The best thing about the room is the amazing view straight onto the beach - we spent hours just looking out the window. The rest of the hotel was good, not great. The service is odd - sometimes great, sometimes ... Read more

Imagine, going to the same Hotel for over 40 years! The executive rooms are superb, and that's where I stay now, but I stayed in every room I could afford over the years. They were all good and the stuff makes it so easy for you to just fall in love with this Hotel. This year I went to a wedding to Tel Aviv, and as usual I stayed in an Executive Room facing the sea. So were my daughter and her boyfriend. We had accesses to the King David lounge, and we could see all of our relatives that were vi... Read more

There is something to be said about Israelis hospitality: They know how to properly host people! Dan Hotel will make any humble servant like myself feel as an important dignitaries for the duration of their stay! The rooms were perfect and comfortable. I was lucky enough to have a nice view on the beach. The breakfast was impressive and delicious. The service was perfect. A bit costly but totally worth it.

The hotel appears very impressive upon entering. The staff are friendly and professional. Unfortunately my room was very small and cheaply decorated. The carpet is so old and stained I do not want to remove my shoes. I am looking out at the central heating/air conditioning - a real shame since we chose a beach hotel. I have stayed at all of the big hotels along this strip and this is by far the worst experience I have had.

My son and I stayed in the Dan on two separate occasions in June. During our first stay we were upgraded to the executive suite but we had two concerns with this suite. One was lack of separate beds which had been requested on the reservation and the other was the bathroom with the frosted glass door which did not provide much privacy. The bed situation was quickly resolved with a very comfortable second bed. When we returned for a second visit we were again upgraded, this time to the royal suit... Read more

While the hotel is expensive, it is worth the price. You are treated very special. This was my second stay at the Dan Tel Aviv. Once again it was great. The food in the dining room was amazing as was the food I ate at the bar (as was the service at both). Room was very comfortable with a breathtaking view of the ocean and beach. Jeremy Dary, of the Dan TA guest services relations, goes above and beyond with any requests. I would definitely stay there again.

The Dan Tel Aviv is an amazing hotel in what is for us the best location in Tel Aviv, right on the Mediterranean, within walking distance of all the important attractions of the city. The staff is remarkably attentive and helpful. We had a room overlooking the sea, a delightful view at all times of the day and night. We also had privileges at the club which is a bonus for snacks and even a light lunch or dinner. We have stayed here many times, and look forward to coming back next year.

The hotel has a great location, right next to the beach. The rooms are ok, clean and comfortable, although some do not face the sea, but other buildings. The main problem was the service. Luxurious rooms, outstanding dining and mostly excellent service. Especially appreciated service provided by Jeremy Dery - Guest Services Representative at the Hotel, who went above and beyond to take care of all our needs and make our stay fun and meaningful. Thank you very much!

The Dan is the grand old hotel of Tel Aviv. I hadn't stayed there for several years and was happy to be back. The building shows its age a bit, but maintains its elegance. The bar, executive lounge and breakfast rooms look directly onto the beach and I found the bar a fantastic place to have business meetings. The location is great for the beach and is close to many restaurants and cafés, although a lot of action in Tel Aviv has moved away from this area. However, still lots to do nearby a... Read more

On hayarkon in tell aviv right on the beach. From Our first experience on arrival to our sad goodbye the people at the hotel and the hotel itself was wonderful. Ease of check in. Large rooms set up very well with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious and over looked the Mediterranean Sea. Very attentive staff in all areas. Certainly will be back

The Dan is a historic Tel Aviv Hotel. It has literally hosted the famous and the wealthy since the beginning of Israel. But enough already... First the good: The service is great. From the Executive Lounge attendants, to the housekeeping, the employees are well trained and very attentive. You do not get the angry Israeli vibe at all. More of the American top level hotel service vibe or how can I make your stay the best it can be. Showers are very nice. Great water pressure, nice toiletr... Read more

The Dan hotels are high class. As the night manager said, "this is the second best hotel in Israel, the King David is the best." We stayed in both and he's right. It is a very beautiful hotel with outstanding service. The breakfast buffet was stellar. I was there to tour Israel, but I really didn't want to leave each day.

Booked 8 weeks before I came £275 USD a night but full on arrival. Transferred to a hotel down the road to a room you couldn't swing a cat in. Not at all impressed. To be told "this happens all the time in hotels". No it means you want a coach of tourists instead of individuals is what it means...

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and the end of a 3 week tour of Israel. In fact we were at 3 Dan hotels during our trip and this Dan was the best by far. The staff couldn't be more helpful, especially Ralph at the reception desk. My husband and I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has everything you could want. It's staff is friendly and accommodating. After check-in, we were met by a manager, telling us to contact her if there was anything we needed. We received calls each day to check that everything was in order. In addition, they have the King David Crown Lounge which provides light food from morning until 11 pm. Their Israeli breakfast, in the main dining room, is a culinary experience. They are located on the Tel Aviv beach, a block off Ben Yehuda St. A... Read more

The hotel is very nice and clean. Many employees give good service. The deluxe is well equipped and has a comfortable king size bed. The food was tasty and with great selection. One meal we ate at the Yarkon 99 r chef restaurant - very very good meal. Nice in-door swimming pool and spa. The outdoor swimming pool was closed.

First hotel on arrival to Israel, just in time for Shabbat dinner. Incredible experience culturally, but food was also a celebratory experience. Shabbat dinner and breakfast the next morning a joyous experience to witness Israelis enjoying their families and traditions. Traveled as a couple, service to us was terrific. Hotel permitted us long walks along the beach and what I first thought was a flash mob in the morning. Turns out it was locals, all ages, celebrating and dancing in the street... Read more

The hotel has good breakfast, and also provides some food in the lounge almost the whole day. The service is in the lounge is excellent, where everybody gets the feeling you're a special guest. Especially Deborah from the lounge provided excellent service by giving a bit more of a personal touch to the service. And because I stayed for a longer time at the hotel, this is well appreciated. Like this you get more a feeling of coming to a second home, instead of just a random hotel. The rooms are... Read more
