I stayed for 5 days during a congress. The hotel is perfectly located in a beautiful building. Since I liked the old cinema staircase I never took the elevator... The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you don't mind the nightlife sounds of Dizengoff Circle take a room with balcony so you can stay in touch with the city all the time.

Overall, this is a very good hotel. The hotel is a Bauhaus renovated building and the theme of its former life as a cinema prevails in the hotel decor. The room was fine, we had a small balcony and a desk. The bathroom was clean, a bit small, but again, it was fine. The breakfast was very good and the service is excellent. The happy hour on the 4th floor is also a nice touch.

We spent four nights at the Cinema Hotel which had a breakfast room but no restaurant. At check-in we received an excellent welcome but no offer of help with our bags. We arrived about 7.00pm and as it was Holocaust Memorial Day all the food outlets in the area were closed. However, the hotel kindly provided us with snacks and drinks. Our room was on the 5th floor and although the view over the rooftops was not great as we did not overlook Dizengoff Square all was quiet. Our compact double room ... Read more

Since last year with a new manager there is some interesting change which till now I have not been able to analyse and identify exactly, but it is good to feel and to experience. The atmosphere with the staff is as familiar as we know it already for 12 years. cooperative, sympathic, very individual. As the city is investing a lot to maintain the Bauhaus-buildings in the centre the environment of Cinema Esther is very interesting for tourists with an inclination to architecture. The hotel is centrally located. The staff is super friendly and helped us from getting a driver to the Negev, restaurant recommendations and reservations, trip to Jerusalem, etc. For the price category the breakfast buffet offers a big variety and the fresh and warm dishes change each day. Last but least the terrace on floor 4 is a great place to unwind and to start the evening (free drinks and snacks in the late afternoon hours).

I am a movie buff, in fact I once worked for Paramount films - in the '60's. The cinema equipment and the posters through out the hotel, brought back very good memories. The room was very comfortable and the location of the hotel was close to everything. Enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

We were not disappointed from our choice. After visiting other hotels rated among the top ten hotels in TLV, I can certainly say the Cinema hotel can and should be considered #1. I got a very good deal here and wanted to try something different. The hotel was originally a large movie theater and was converted into this hotel. They keep the cinema theme with lots of memorabilia in the rooms, halls, and lobby. I had a unique balcony that required two smalls steps up a tiny staircase. Bottom line is its cool, clean, unique, and very well located. Room was small and so was bathroom but most will not mind. Rooftop happy hour and free breakfast are included!

After a 10 hour flight and a 30 minute shuttle ride from Ben Gurion Airport, we arrived before noon to the lovely Hotel Cinema. Imagine our delight to find that our rooms were ready. Nathalie at the front desk could not have been more accommodating and lovely. She spent time with us explaining every procedure about using the room keys and the facilities. We only stayed in this hotel ror one night during a tour of Israel but we would have been happy to have stayed longer. Our bed was comfortable and the pillows super comfortable. As soon as we arrived on Thursday we were invited to the happy hour on the roof terrace with drinks, food and jazz - and it was free! Interesting architecture and vintage cinema artefacts. In a good location. Only criticism was that the bathroom was small.

This building started out as the 1st movie theater in Tel Aviv. The hotels decor is film history and technology: carbon-arc projectors, lamps stands made from tripods, bed lamp made in the shape of a fresnel lantern... Enjoyed seeing the photographs of big screen stars and trying to remember their names. The mostly blank and white potos match the hotel decor. The hotel is small and the food was good. Their staff is very helpful and pleasant to encounter.

Bedroom was small but well appointed. Enjoyed the little balcony overlooking Dizengoff Square. Room rate includes excellent buffet breakfasts in a lovely dining room and happy hour drinks and snacks each evening on the rooftop terrace.
