Last century St. George was amoumg the best if not the best hotel in East Jerusalem, My visit today was a real dissappointment, the place looks as a ghost hotel, in the entrance remains of the christmas tree, the once wonderfull rooftop restaurant is closed the nice view is still there The best souvenir shop of the Kandoo family is closed and mooved to Bith Lehem. The main street Salah A Din,is empty and closed shops early afternoo like 1700PM vERY VERY SAD

Hotel is really nice with good heater/AC. Nice bed. We had dinner at the hotel and it was really good. Right around the corner of the hotel there is a convenient store selling cigarette, bottled water, snacks. A little more walk and we got to the shopping area with lots of money changer, local shops, bank. We walked to the Damascus gate it was a good walk and took us 10 minutes.

I have been to Jerusalem severally and every time I stay at the St. George. I have consistently been impressed by the friendliness and desire to help of the staff. The rooms are clean and they had the heaters turned on during winter which was so comforting. The central location of the hotel and closeness to shops and the old city is a plus.

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Damascus Gate, making it a very convenient location. This hotel is set up for tours and does a good job managing them. The food is good and is served via a buffet. The staff is pleasant and speaks English well. My wife needed some ice for her ankle and the staff obliged graciously. There is an ATM about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This was my second stay at the St. George and quite a contrast from the first visit. Both times the staff and service was excellent. You could not ask for nicer, more helpful people. The pool was beautiful on our first visit but a closed, under construction mess (with no signs or notice about the mess or closed pool). 2nd visit - there was leftover room service food in the hallway when we arrived and it was still there when we checked out the next day. The carpet was also wet in both rooms. A li... Read more

This hotel is well located near a bustling and authentic part of East Jerusalem - it's also not a long walk to the old city. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are keen to help and friendly. The restaurant is great and food enjoyable. The top floor has amazing potential but was being renovated while we were there - next time I visit I look forward to enjoying this area of the hotel.

We have stayed here no less than 15 times and the staff and the location are definitely the reason we keep coming back. If you're looking for a Palestinian friendly option for your time in Jerusalem, this is the best option, in our opinion. The breakfast could be better and the cleaning staff aren't always thorough, but we haven't found either in the city so it's still our top choice.

I stayed here from the 23rd of June till 7th of July, during my Ramadan and Eid visit. I would like to mention the bad points first firstly, i am from the UK, and Palestine is a very warm place in comparison. However the AC in my room didnt work once in the two weeks i was there, so i sweated my balls off for the whole trip. There was no way for me to feel comfort other than ask to go to a friends room to cool down. At first i didnt know it wasnt working till i walked in to a friends room, i jus... Read more

We stayed with a group for 4 days. Big swimming pool in the cover with very nice view good for relax after a full day walking arround the old city. The sign says it closes at 6pm but we could use it some time after. The food is good. They just could have more kinds of fruit.

We came here as part of a wider group (Al Buruj Press) who organise annual visits to Jerusalem. Our room overlooked the main road so at nights it did sometimes get a little noisey; but nothing too bad. Our room also had blackout curtains so that bright sun didnt disturb our sleep! The room itself was clean and of a decent size. Our air-con worked just fine so this helped when comimg back from long & hot excursions. The bathroom tiling did seem a little tired and we did come across the odd ant.... Read more

I stayed here during my time in Jerusalem, it is such a convenient hotel which I would highly recommend to anyone who is planning on visiting this great city. The best is, it is a short walk from the Damascus Gate entrance to the old city, which was all I needed to embark on my adventures!! staff were wonderful, especially Lara, on reception who was very helpful and kind. breakfast was lovely, so much variety, rooms were first class and so was the swimming pool which had fantastic views, they ga... My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. This hotel has everything to be spectacular, but it turned out to be quite a disappointment due to the management od the staff's fault... We got a quiet bedroom on the 4th floor, with comfortable individual beds, good air conditionind, but that was just about it... The bedlinen was already dirty when we arrived and was never chaged. We moved the beds to be together and that revealed a carpet full of dust, garbage, hair (while the rest of the roo... Read more

I just stayed here for 4 nights with a group. The food was dreadful - and breakfast looked a lot like dinner did. The same dishes were in the hallway when we left as were there when we arrived. It always took at least 2 requests for anything to happen - BUT they were very polite. It's shame the hotel doesn't live up to the people. The pool furniture is beyond shabby - and the bird poop doesn't add anything to the ambiance! The neighborhood is also not terribly safe to walk around in. There... Read more

This hotel is for you if enjoy living on the edge: gunfire, demonstrations, hostile people (including hotel restaurant staff), unclean surfaces everywhere, dreadful food all day and an uphill hoof to any place you wish to go. Negative reviews are a rarity for me, but this is impossible to resist.

The room was excellent. It was comfortable, spacious with a nice balcony view. The location was excellent. It was very close to the old city. The front desk clerk was extremely helpful in providing information and helped me with other requests regarding traveling around the area, service, etc. Whatever I needed he was willing to help.

The Hotel is perfectly located just a few minutes walk from Damascus Gate of the Old city. Friendly staff always ready to help in every way: I forgot my cell phone charger and they patiently agreed to charge my cell phone from their reception computer every day:) My special Thank You goes out to Eyyad the restaurant manager: his skill to guide and manage those crowds of hungry quests during breakfast time each morning is elevated to the level of art:) Thank you!

The hotel's location is very convenient for walking around this East Jerusalem neighborhood and not too far distance from the Old City. The room we had was spacious, well appointed, quiet, and clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of attending to our daily needs and were responsive to our requests. The quality and variety of the food presented buffet style in the dining room was not up to the standard we had experienced elsewhere on our travel through Israel. The hotel advertise... Read more

Let's be candid. As part of a group of Americans traveling together on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, I want to recognize that when I am a guest in another country, things will be different. I accept that. The hotel, which states on its website that it has been "restored to its former splendor", does offer modern facilities and met the needs of our large group for a meeting room after hours and a central dining room. But, the lack of attention to basic details of good management practices lea... Read more

This hotel has a lot going for it, but also a couple downsides that made our stay rate an average. Good location with short walk to the Damascus Gate and close to the Garden Tomb. The rooms were decent sized with comfortable beds. The staff really does try to take care of your needs. They have a very nice roof top pool which is great for night time gatherings. A couple downsides though were a problem. The HVAC system is controlled for the entire hotel rather than by room, so once they chang... Read more
