If you are looking for a good priced hotel with very nice staff in a good, safe location, this is the hotel for you. It is not luxuriously decorated, but my bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good and the staff were most helpful and courteous, so I had no complaints. I like the fact that it's old and not like a carbon copy hotel chain. It is also just around the corner from the large market which is pretty cool and is very easy to get to the airport by shared cab from here. All in all a... Read more

Great hotel if you are solo or couple on a budget. Staff is friendly and can speak several languages. In the heart of downtown Jerusalem. Kitchen is not kosher, but multitude of choices just outside including one of the best shawarma places in town.

Decided to go drinking in Jerusalem. Stuck between the choice of a taxi home at 2am or a hotel plus leisurely stroll around Jerusalem and a bus home, we looked for a hotel under $60 in the City Centre. We booked the Palatin, arrived, dropped our stuff off and went out. Quick check in, decent room and very good compared to expectation. Morning came with Israeli buffet breakfast which was better than expected for the price. Overall, no complaints for the money we paid. There is no lift so try ... Read more

First of all, I have to mention that there is no elevator,so the climb to the room is rather daunting, especially since there is a climb just to the lobby! Other than that, all is good. The rooms are small, but efficiently laid out. Our shower was modern, and we always had hot water. As other reviewers have pointed out, there IS some jack-hammering noise from the construction site across the street, and our window faced right at it, but it was actually interesting to watch the progress as th... The best "feature" of this "hotel" is it's location. It's right in the center, off a walking mall, steps away from Zion Square - your perfect base location for doing anything and everything - Jerusalem! Having said the above, this "Hotel" has a few significant deficits. It is very difficult to find during the day. No signage outside the entrance or on the awning above the door. The building is historic of course and the windows are basic and thin. The street noise from the music in the next door ... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for five days after a bus tour of Israel. The location to restaurants, cafes, pharmacy, and the old quarter which is an easy fifteen minute walk. The wifi was free and easy connect. The hotel is older and could use a good coat of paint. I felt safe and the whole place was clean. The breakfast was amble and there was a computer for you to use and coffee and tea available complimentary 24 hours a day. The area is great for restaurants , shops, and cafes. I also felt b... Chap place for a quick stay. Good location but nothing to want to come after a long day and get some rest. Room very small and the place needs a face lift and can be more welcoming. Breakfast was ok on the downside , basic. If you need just a place to sleep then it is ok ,

Like HOME in VERY GOOD LOCATION! Not luxury, but everything you need! Clean! Friendly Service! No elevator, which makes it little hard with heavy luggage. No safety box in room. Rooms are quite small. Breakfast included!

I spent 2 nights at the Palatin. The location is great, near the old city and tram stops. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was not very large but typical for a lower price hotel in the middle of a major city. Air condition worked like charm which is essential for the summer time. The breakfast was good with free coffee and tea offered throughout the day. Lastly the wifi work consistently and fast. Would definitely stay here again.

The reception staffs are very friendly. Helped me carry my suitcase up the stairs and made sure the breakfast will be served earlier than usual because I had to leave early - thanks! The breakfast was nice, fresh vegis, bread, some cheese and egg. This hotel is simple and basic, in an excellent location; Bathroom renovated and very convenient.

The main strength of this hotel is it's location - close to everything, including the market. No elevator. Nice reception guy. The room is very basic, and this is after we were upgraded! Awful noise from the construction site next door. The blanket was covered with somebody's hair. After complaining, the bed was made from scratch. The breakfast was very basic, nothing to write home about. The AC remote also activated the TV occasionally. We slept well. So if you want a place to sleep in a good l... Read more

This hotel is located one minute walking from Yafo street; and 15 minutes walking to the old town. The hall of the hotel itâ??s located on the 1st floor, and there is no elevator. In fact, there is no elevator in the hotel. Staff is nice. The rooms are clean, but very very old. The furniture was old and the mattresses needed a replacement. I think my restroom had 50 years old. Just in case, all was functional, including the air conditioned. The Wifi signal in all the hotel (rooms included) an... Read more

I've been staying at the Palatin for the last fifteen years when in Jerusalem...for me it's like coming home...it's small, well kept, friendly & the location can't be beat...whether you have business or are visiting all the sites of Jerusalem, the location puts you right there...walking distance to most of the city including the Old City (have walked it many times)...plenty of restaurants, taverns, bakeries, street food places all within walking distance, as well as sundry stores & pharmacies...... perfect quite corner in the tourist part of jerusalem. Did two stays here in quick succession. The breakfast needed some change from day to day, but otherwise fantastic. The young college kid who managed the reception was very helpful. Very conviniently located to the tram stops and not too far from old city by tram.
