What a great experience. They upgraded us to an Old City view, and it was just what we needed after staying at other "luxury" hotels in Tel Aviv and Rosh Pina that did not feel luxurious, at all. King David staff catered to our every need, even leaving a bottle of wine in our room one afternoon. The rooms are also laid out really well, so it was easy to stay organized. For instance, they had these amazing open faced drawers/sliding shelves that were perfect for storing clothing. Why doesn't ever... Read more

I have stayed many times at the hotel and each stay is better then the last. This trip we had three rooms. Two garden terrace old city view and one deluxe suite old city view. Spend the extra for the old icy view it is amazing. The extended terraces were wonderful especially for coffee and the paper in the morning. The service was amazing even with three foreign delegations at the hotel, an Ontario trade mission with the Premier, the French President and the Prime minister of the Cheque Republ... Read more

I didn't stay here in Jerusalem I stopped in for a long wait in the lobby to relax as well as use the Wi-Fi and then go out for a long lunch with drinks. The rooftop restaurant they have has a fantastic view, it overlooks their pool and their gardens are just a beautiful setting. That's where all the good ended. Their service was horrible I had to ask for a waiter to come to my table which was not even cleaned or made up which they originally set me at. It took four consecutive times before some... Read more

The elegant walls of this hotel speak of its living history and are rich in detail. Service is very good and the breakfast is extraordinary. It's rich history of "who's who" in its roster is only surpassed by the staff who totally goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant and seamless. Naomi, Head of Guest Services was invaluable from the planning stages of our stay to the day we departed. Numerous emails way before our stay to arrange and re-arrange needs were thoughtfully met without a single hitch. This was my first time at the Kind David, and to be honest, I'm not sure I could ever stay anywhere else in Jerusalem. The service started at the front door, where the bellmen were incredibly polite and helpful. The front desk check in was excellent and smooth. The concierge was eager to help and the Bartenders at the bar were amazing as well. Book a room with a view of the old city and keep your curtains open. It's magical. We stayed in an apartment next to the hotel and went there for breakfast, It was an absolute treat. The quality and choice is the best I have ever seen. Everything was beautifully presented and the food was excellent. People don't think of going there if they are not guests of the hotel but it's really worthwhile. Special thanks to our wonderful waiter Alfred who made our day.Highly recommended.

We arrived cranky and tired after a full day of sightseeing and were greeted kindly and with 2 upgrades. A better room and one that overlooked the old city. The room was so nice that I could easily make it my home, lovely bed and smooth sheets, a sitting room with a coffee table with complimentary nuts, chocolates and dried fruit awaiting us. but a few things could use sprucing up. 1) Although breakfast had an enormous spread (except for Shabbat), in general the food was tasteless. I am a gourmet cook so clearly I can be picky. I just decided to order off the extra menu and even the poached eggs, I am pretty certain, had been sitting in water long before plating. 2) Daily room cleaning never included vacuuming and the rugs were worn as well as a bit grimy, 3) Electronics in the room were confusing--and if 2 college professors can't f... A minutes after our call we got a technician, who by the way changed the filthiest air filter I've ever seen in my life. It was probably there for years without maintenance. After hours, we had no air conditioning whatsoever. Luckily we had fresh air and opened the window to keep it flowing and refreshing. The lobby has a wonderful scent to it, no y sure if they are pumping something in but it's fantastic. We stayed on the renovated floors and the rooms and the views were spectacular. From the second you set foot in the king David you know this is a special place. They are proud of all the famous guests, and the service is out standing. I was last here 40 years ago after the Yom Kippur War and nothing has changed. It is a grand old hotel. The rooms are comfortable but you can pay extra for a higher floor with a better view. Breakfast is good. The dining room menu is not my taste but is quite nice. Old world charm etc. The staff is terrific. The pool is outrageous just fantastic. This is the place to stay. There are lots of high end hotel options in Jerusalem, but you should stay here at least one to absorb the history. The entrance and lobby area are immediately impressive, as are the dining rooms. The staff is inconsistent...some are welcoming and helpful, some are a bit surly. I used the concierge to arrange a tour for 3 people. We loved staying at this beautiful hotel with our family. The staff was very accommodating and learned our names and preferences immediately. The breakfast buffet was inventive and delicious. It's nice to go to look at but not to stay. Although the rooms are large they are very tired way over due for refurbishing, carpets and furniture both stained and dirty looking, not at all appealing. Also one of our rooms really had a bad smell. The outside is beautiful, it's too bad the inside is so depressing. The service was also lacking, when all summed up we will never stay there again.

I visit the King David when in Jerusalem. As I was having lunch with my wife at the Garden restaurant (very good, by the way), I went to take a few pictures by the garden. Never have I encountered in a 5* hotel a pool manager who would wave his hand at me to expel me from the pool.
