Just came back from the orchid hotel eilat, we loved it, we've been to alot of hotels in eilat and this one is far the best. People working there are really good/professional and the food is amazing, pools nice, just had a really great time! If the other hotels in eilat are 5* this one should be a 7*

I've visited this hotel with my family two weeks ago. The hotel is set in a wonderful location and the thai theme ads to its charm. Regretfully, although it is titled a "5 star hotel", we found a dirty and neglected room and surrounding. Since we were traveling with a 5 year old, we had to move the bed to the wall (so that she wouldn't fall of the bed), we found under the bed old food remains and dust. The door knob to the bathroom was broken, the closet was disgusting (the a.c. filter is locate... Read more

Room service dishes sat outside room entire stay, despite request to house keeping and front desk to collect them. Cockroaches in dining area. Manager stated there was a shuttle to town, yet staff consistently stated there was no shuttle. $10 taxi ride to town; all activities in town. For $400/night, this is terrible value. Staff promised compensation for lack of house keeping and cleanliness, which never materialized.

I had laid my eye on Orhid Hotel and Resort a long time ago. As a diver I am a frequent visitor to Eilat for it's beautiful reefs. Orhid Hotel and Resort's location seems to be perfect, far from the city rush, close to all diving sites located along the south beach-line, full privacy of cosy Thai style bungalows. A dream place to rest in after a busy day.Terefore when I have decided to spend last weekend in Eilat, I didn't hesitate to book myself a room at Orhid Hotel. It turned out to be the ... Read more

My wife & I spent 2 nights at this hotel (10-12th of June), and had a very poor experience due to a number of things which i will state the main points below: - Since the hotel was full, there was limited parking spaces available within the hotel grounds. Upon my arrival I was told to park on the side of the highway that is adjacent to the hotel, and is not looked after by their security. Furthermore, the hotel staff refused to find me a better solution. My wife had to sneak in to the parking ... Read more

I stayed at the Orchid for 2 nights in early November, which in Eilat is the off-season and had a great time. The staff were very accommodating to all my request and the due to the off-season the hotel was rather empty, so you had the feel of a quiet relaxing place. The swimming pool area is charming, with very comfortable sunbeds and a beautiful view of the beach. The rooms are functional if not particularly beautiful, but as this was a beach holiday it didn't matter much as I was scarcely e... Read more

Great view from the deluxe shangrilla room. the room itself is good. The only problem is the need of shuttle to get to the room, not enough of them. Partly remote hotel, 5 minutes drive from city center.

If you read my previous review on this Hotel from last autumn (1star) you might be rather surprised that I came back. The experience then was ... terrible (least I can say). However this time I was invited (lucky me) by a relative for a Family reunion ... at the Grand Changrila Villa ! The best or 2nd best suite of the resort ... Not less: 105 square meters, 2 huge rooms, a large living room between, your private and big pool, a huge deck with your own Jacuzzi .... and this incredible view on ... Read more

Spectacular view, in upgraded room. The hotel staff were polite and nice. The perfect Thailand atmosphere. All travel inside the hotel, (to the pool, dining room, gym, etc.) are made using a Tuk Tuk driver. Underwater Observatory is located 3 min from the hotel and "Lighthouse Beach" ×?×?ר snorkelling - an overwhelming experience, is 5 min from it too.

The "gimmick" is one of a thai village. trouble is that maintenance is low and that without a beach front the pool os too small to provide for all the guests. further more there is no real bar at the pool, no shakes etc.

If you are from Europe you'll know this isn't what you call a 5 star hotel. I would give this hotel 4 stars rather than 5. It's pretty nice having no neighbours in the gallery rooms is amazing! You basically get your own little house with an upstairs with 2 beds (using a ladder to get up) and a downstairs of a double bed. Some of the rooms higher up have a spectacular view specially to wake up to in the morning! I would recommend this place if not at a crazy price! For example do not pay 1500 sh... Read more

Our room was supposed to be "sea view" and we paid extra for it. In reality we only got a glipmse of the sea and a whole lot of people traffic running by our window - so no privacy what so ever. When we ask at the reception to change our room they asked for additional charges which we agreed to pay and the manager said that she will call us which never happened. Even though we approached them 3 times we were pushed off rudely. we ended up staying 3 nights at the same room. very frustrating. Hot... Read more

I'm writing this at night, unable to sleep in the hotel room because of the noisy air conditioning and the bed that was poorly set. We're coming to Eilat three times a year, always for a stay in the south beach, the best part of the city. This is our third time at The Orchid hotel, and I hope the last. The main advantages of the hotel are the pool and its location. But as for the way the staff talks to you, the room's condition, and the fact that it's hard to get to the room without a driver -... This hotel is falling apart, and has bad management and service. Everything looks like it was hit by a sand storm at 1000 mph. our entrance to the room looked like a hillbilly backyard. When we first got to the pool - we sat at a booth. the ground was covered by an artificial grass carpet (?!) - that was littered with cigarette butts, seed shells and it was disgusting. even after I complained and ask for a clean - it was left dirty. The room-service-food is horrible. 15 shekels for a small bottl... Read more

Not recommend for the price. The regular room is very small. It looks old and poor. Everything grey.. The bathroom was very dirty, the window looked like somebody tried to fix with duct tape. There were bugs and cockroaches. The golf carts were like racing each other. Very noisy at night. Not enough parking places Definitely not worth the price at all

On the outside, this hotel looks pretty. It is a Thai Style built into the mountain and away from all the hustle and bustle of Eilat. Upon arrival, the front desk said we were being "upgraded", which made me happy. However, it did not take long to realize this was not the case. In order to go anywhere, you are dependent on calling and waiting for a golf cart to pick you up to go up and down the mountain. Although they came promptly, it became tiresome after a while. Very nice design of the hotel with a view, tasty food in the restaurant, pool for kids and singer's performances for the parents but the rooms are dusty, we got a room with a lot of toilet garbage next to the room.We asked for 3 times to clean it no unfortunately no reaction. Unfriendly stuff in the reception. Not sure if i will come back again.

A pretty tired property. Needs updating. Not on the beach but we knew that before booking. It's in south Eilat which is nice as it's not in the main resort area. This was probably a really nice hotel 20 years ago.

This Hotel is located South of Eilat near the Taba border crossing. It is a lovely Thai village. You stay in semi-detached cabins or rooms. It is quiet with some great views. The service is good, the breakfast we had was very good. There is a lovely pool and jacuzzi outside. There is a spa with the best priced massages in Eilat. I have stayed here many times and I plan to go back again. I highly recommend this spot if you are in Eilat.

Yes, it's not the most modern, and some of the rooms are in need of renovating, but it's so nice and calm and you really get to feel the natural beauty of Eilat - instead of being overcrowded by all the tourists. This hotel is located away from it all - and we loved staying here.

This hotel is built on the side of a steep mountain and resembles resort hotels in the Far East were the rooms are individual cabins. Reaching the rooms is mostly by golf carts. The service was very good and attentive. However there are little niggling things that should not be part of a hotel that has 5 star rating. For example there were no hand towels available until we asked for them (they did arrive promptly, I mentioned the attentive service), however it seems the hotel management decided ... Read more

We enjoyed our independent cabin on the side of the hill. It was well appointed and clean. There was a tuk tuk to take us up and down if we didn't want to do the short walk. Very organic feel as everything is built in wood. Excellent breakfast. The staff were pleasant and helpful. For us it is much nicer than the huge new hotels on the North Shore and very good value. Only criticism I have is that if you don't want a full dinner in the evening there is no snack bar or cafe for a lighter meal.

When we arrived we got an upgrade from a "house" to a "Villa", because they were renovating some rooms. Lucky! We enjoyed our stay at the resort very much! All facilities are very nice and the staff is friendly. Amazing location with view on Saudi Arabia and Jordania. Border to Egypt can easily be reached by bike! We'd love to come again!
