Male Receptionist walked into our room after one quick knock, we didn't get a chance to answer. We then discovered the lock was broken and we were not able to lock the door from the inside. Toilet didn't flush. Sink had dirty big crack in it. Vent in shower caked in dust. I've never experienced anything like it. Couldn't check out soon enough.

Never have a problem with the travelodge always stay here at least twice a year if not more. Great customer service would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap stay in the heart of Waterford city.

Loud noise both internally and externally from people shouting. I know this can happen but an apology the next day would of went a long way. Even after checking out and waiting for a taxi there was an argument between the manager/supervisor and another guest which was awkward. Room was basic but clean, I booked a double room and was given 2 single beds pushed together with one mattress higher than the other.

Booked it at the last minute. Fine for a cheap stay or for a weekend but would not recommend it if you are looking for comfort or sevices! Staff were friendly but the place needs a good deep & high level clean and paint! No real issue with noise although we did have to listen to the McDonalds drive thru evey few minutes. Beds and rooms was clean-ish (basic) but a room booked for 3 people was only set up for 2 people. Had to ask for extra towels, cups, pillows etc. Rooms was not easy to get ... Read more

Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Bit of a maze to get up to your room. Staff is friendly. Common area is a bit dated. Bitbuzz Wi-Fi is terrible. Gives you 24 he access afterwards impossible to sign back in again. This day and age Wi-Fi is a must.

Overall a great place to stay, a little noisy at night other than that could not fault the hotel. We will definitely be back and may try more Travelodge locations in the future, Great rates also not to be beat on a bank holiday weekend

I was a little disappointed with the location of the hotel as it was a bit out if town. When we checked in it seemed like we were wending our way through a rabbit warren but when we got to our room ( no lift - which is a bit of a nuisance when you have large suitcases) it was spacious & clean with a large bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable & room had block out curtains again very useful. Overall quite a nice stay.

The Travelodge in Waterford is consistently good value for money. The accommodation is clean and fresh. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Even our dog receives a warm welcome. I have stayed there many times and will do so in future. The advertised packed breakfast was not available but there is an American style diner next door.

Cheap and friendly and great value for the money. We were a group of golfers playing at Faithlegg, Waterford Castle and Tramore golf courses. The courses were fantastic and the hotel was very cheap, just what we wanted. All of our group said they would like to go again.

Stayed here last night with my partner while attending the Daytripper music festival in Waterford. Everthing about our stay was really good from check-in to check out! The location is perfect for visiting Waterford and with free parking, it's ideal to leave your car and quick 10 minute stroll will bring you into Waterford city. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and the room was spacious and spotless. We both had a great nights sleep with no disturbances. We will definately be returning t... Read more

The hotel was very run down, and located in a very noisy spot with rooms backing into the Macdonalds Car Park. The rooms smelt quite badly, and the facilities very outdated. Felt unsafe leaving our car in the car park, as there were people outside fighting and revving their engines, shouting and swearing until all hours of the night. Wouldn't recommend this hotel, particularly as we were travelling with children.

pull out beds for beds uncomfy not ideal if its a longer family stay i would suggest staying elsewhere. it was value for the e59 we paid. it is a very basic hotel. a short drive to city centre. quite location - the sports stadium near by did not disturb us.

It was the start of school holidays and Rod Stewart was playing in Kilkenny. For whatever reason this was the only hotel available for a long distance. They obviously ramp their prices up as it was expensive when we got the conversion on our credit card. Rooms smell, bathroom is awful, shoes stick to the carpet in the halls. Rubbish hotel!

On arrival.after a long day travelling from Wales we were given our room keys, found our room, went in to find someone else's belongings but thankfully the people weren't in !! That would of been so embarrassing plus it's nice to know they randomly give keys out to rooms with people's stuff in !! Then bed time came to the noisiest place ever, loud music, doors banging, not a great welcome to Ireland -hope our trip improves !

Hotel overall very clean n tidy, but as for facilities it were non existent, and no hotel bar was a defo turn off for me, then had a 20 min walk to Waterford centre. I have used Travelodge in galway and it's much better.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our trip in Ireland. Though we had nothing to complin about in our room, during the night there was a lot of running about in the corridors by small children, which made it a bit difficult to sleep. Location is around a 30 minute walk from the centre of Waterford

Basic hotel with few facilities except the bed! First room smelled of cigarette smoke so we moved, second room smelled of something unpleasant but unidentifiable - maybe detergent. It's outside the city centre in an industrial area - there are fast food outlets around and some of the large supermarkets (Aldi) to get supplies. Very basic, however it was cheap for 3 people.

Travelodges generally are fine, but this one was very noisy. Our rooms were at the side of the hotel overlooking a drive-in Macdonald's. This was extremely noisy, even at 2.45am. With the windows shut to reduce the noise, the rooms were too hot and stuffy. As a result we did not sleep well either of the 2 nights we stayed and we would not stay at this particular Travelodge again.

Myself and my friend stayed here for a girlie weekend away for 2 nights. The staff were really really lovely. Our room was very clean and had everything a travelodge should have. The location of the lodge was great and we were a short 20minute walk from the main streets and only cost us 6/7 euro in a taxi. Would recommend restaurant Buzzra on John Street for food (lovely little restaurant) but book an hour or so in advance. All I can say is many thanks to the Travelodge Waterford for a great sta... Arrived in late evening after making most of the weather on Lough Derg, Co Clare. Checked in, but unfortunately bedding for children's put up beds was missing, so went down to reception to get some bedding which they promptly did and gave me a hand carrying it upstairs. Had to pull out beds from under double bed (a bit of an effort, but seems standard Travelodge practice for guests to do this themselves - fair enough if it keeps the price down) but room was spacious enough to be able to arrang... Dark rooms , no fans or air conditioning , basic but clean, very bare reception , just a bland hotel really , we stayed one night, the noise in other rooms was bad but not unbearable, near McDonald's and Rocking Joe's so handy for food , not far from Waterford city

Run down Bargain basement hotel. Tv in room not working, cables old and dowdy. Picture jumping as signal not coming through. Dirty remote control covered is flakes of food. Remote control not working. Wifi annoyingly slow & patchy connection, had to switch back on to cellular twice. No lock on door. Loud disheveled louts hanging round the front entranceway to tiny reception area. Disgusting breakfast served in detached greasy fast food chain building owned by the hotel. We have been to so many Travelodges so thought the 2 we went to in Ireland would be as expected. Both were awful. Waterford Travelodge was the worst and definitely the worst we have ever seen! We booked a family room as usual - the childrens beds are normally made up on our arrival. This was not the case. The rude staff member at reception just told us to do it ourselves. On inspection of the room - it was filthy, absolutely disgusting - like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Furniture... Read more

On arrival we were allocated room 27 . Upstairs to the left and through a fire door ..going up the stairs it looked tired, but nothing prepared me for the smell that hit me as soon as we went through the fire doors to the room . . It can only be described as a stench . On opening the bedroom door it smelt of bleach so there was an effort to disguise the vile smell . I immediately went to reception to enquire about it and was told by the receptionist that she would advise the manager by email .... Read more

This travelodge is cheap that's one of its only plus sides. My friends and I used to place as we only wanted somewhere cheap to stay the night and that's what we got. There was dried in blood on the floor behind the door other than that the room was satisfactorly clean. The receptionist I personally thought was abit rude just the way he spoke to us he wasn't very friendly and wasn't very helpful. I stayed in room 43 it was designed for a wheelchair user. Economic, efficient, friendly receptionist and a comfortable clean bed. Bedroom floor was suspect, not sure what was sticking to the carpet, but I preferred to wear shoes than walk on floor bare foot. I slept well, I was only 10 minutes from the office. Certainly there are no frills, but I never paid or expected any. I got what I required.

We were so surprised at the experience we had staying at this Travelodge that we booked into one in the UK a few weeks later just to make sure our memories of the brand were not due to looking back through rose tinted glasses. Our stay at a Travelodge on the mainland was as we expected and we would happily stay there again. Whilst I would heartily recommend Waterford as a holiday break destination I would advise you to lower your expectations if using this hotel. Our view is that the managemen... Read more
