We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The service was very good, friendly and efficient at all times, from the welcome at the front desk, bar/restaurant and breakfast. The hotel is a little dated but is clean and the rooms are bright (the weather was beautiful while we were there). We had our windows wide open both day and night and cleaning staff left them like that???. Breakfast was excellent and staff were efficient and helpful. We had dinner in bar/restaurant one night - roast of... Read more

On arrival I was greeted by friendly, helpful reception staff. Had a clean, comfortable room and decent breakfast all of which made for a good stay. The bar / restaurant is satisfactory . I would certainly recommend the hotel - easy parking, close proximity to the university and fairly good value for money.

Stayed for 5 nights for business and a family visit. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean although a little dated in decor. Room had only one plug socket for visitor use so difficult to charge more than one item. Weather was great so left windows open (on 1st floor). I left a note asking for window to be left open and this was remembered each day. The Sunday carvery was a bit dissapointing. The meat was cooked well but gravy was tasteless and veget... Read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by how wonderful my stay was at the Kilmurry Hotel. I was visiting my daughter who went to the University of Limerick. I had stayed at another hotel in Castletroy on my previous visit but it was fully booked this time. I saw the Kilmurry on trip advisor, and due to its proximity I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! My flight arrived extremely early, which put me at the hotel before 7am. They did not have a room ready for me but promised that I would have o... Read more

Room ok. Overcharged for an unavoidable booking change of 40 euros. Irish pub had a four letter word swearing male couple at the bar together with young children present - totally unacceptable. Next door to Aldi a real bonus.

Very much reminded me of the hotel in Twin Peaks. Lots of wood everywhere. The TV was cathode ray like from way back when and the bathroom lightness that long strip lighting from way back when. Not saying this is a bad thing but can see the design has a retro look. When turning the bathroom light in it buzzed at us like a UV fly killer! The lights in the bedroom have old fashioned plug fittings so you would not be able to charge your mobile phone in there as the plug is the older style which the... Read more

Rooms clean and basic and bed comfortable. Hotel service is fine. Seems to be well used hotel with lots of groups on a daily basis. Soft close room doors would be useful because door closing was noisy at night and early morning. Breakfast service was satisfactory. Bar staff friendly and bar meals were fine too.

4 Star 5 1/2 / 10 Very pretty large and sprawling , with plenty of free parking. Beds and pillows were fine , decor tasteful. Good sized desk and lounge chair in addition to the Beds. Full Irish (Buffet) breakfast was ok , not great. The Bad : a few sets of steps and no lift. The Receptionist had a few issues with English. Room service and the restaurant both closed by 9:30 on a Saturday night.

I found the mattress felt old and worn out. Could feel the springs and didn't get a good nights sleep. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were all helpful and friendly. As for the food, breakfast was well cooked and plenty of choice so no complaints there. Evening meal in the bar was not so good. I had fish and chips which was not good. The batter was disgusting. This was the most American-like hotel we stayed at. It had the most amenities and yet was one of the cheapest. The real treasure here, though, is the woman at the desk-Bernie. She was amazing. She seemed to know everything, knew the best way to go, do or see, and she never gave bad advice. Breakfast was very extensive and good. If we ever go back to Limerick, we will plan to spend more than one night at Kilmurry Lodge.

I stayed here for a very relaxing and comfortable 2 nights. The lodge is in a traditional style, with lots of wooden panelling and stonework. I was in a double room which was a good 5 minutes walk from reception, up stairs and along a few corridors. The room was pleasant and quiet, with everything you would expect, including a free newspaper. The lodges are a fair distance from town, about 10 minutes in a taxi, but for me the location was ideal. We visited the Kilmurry Lodge as the opening event for my wife's birthday celebrations. Her son and grandsons, live in Castletroy, and so this was an excellent way to meet up and start the celebrations. The Kilmurry Lodge is situated in Castletroy just a few kilometres from Limerick city centre. This is the University area of the city, so is well served with eateries and bars close by. The hotel is almost on the campus of the University of Limerick and many guests seem to be attending meetings etc related to the University. It is a very comfortable and friendly hotel but is rather out of town and visitors need their own transport. Our room was large, even with a double and a single bed it was not cramped. I have to say I'm a bit bias as I used to live next to the Lodge when I was living in Ireland. I love the atmosphere at the Lodge pub with proper locals having their Guinness, the rooms are clean and it's really quiet. Breakfast is really great with full Irish everything and the food at the Lodge restaurant is very good too. As a business traveller I stay in hotels all the time, but this hotel, although convenient for my location was way overpriced for what I got.
