Lovely hotel with fantastic Irish food. Out of Killarney Town so slightly cheaper. Large room with spare bed. Beautiful log fire. Friendly helpful staff. Fantastic buffet breakfast, full Irish or lighter options available.

We were not disappointed with our stay here and will come back. The food is traditional Irish and very good with very reasonable prices. The staff were ever so helpful and we just couldn't have asked for more.

I recently stayed in this hotel with my family and it was fine, but there is lot of things to be improved. The room was fairly good ,clean and tidy. The room was designed in an old way with wooden chests and wardrobes. There was a balcony for our room but was facing to the side of the hotel with no view . Room service was good. The main problem we faced was with the non availability of hot water for shower after coming back from a long day out. The facility in the bathroom was also average as ... Read more

My wife and I stayed 3 nights last week as part of an organised classic car tour of the area. We found the hotel to be comfortable and our bedroom was kept well clean with fresh towels each day. Although we did not use the restaurant for dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent bar meals each evening which were served by the friendly staff. Imagine my amazement when, upon checking out, the receptionist tried to hand me back the tip I left for the great service we had received during our stay!

Great value hotel just a mile or so from downtown. An old fashioned hotel with rather gloomy bar but overall comfortable. Our bedroom was unexpectedly large and spotlessly clean. No air conditioning in bedrooms - and windows only open a crack - so rooms will be very warm in summer. Friendly staff, acceptable breakfast choice but disappointing that used tables aren't cleared more quickly.

My husband and I vacationed in Killarney during our recent tour of Ireland, and we loved our stay at The Heights for three nights over the June Bank holiday weekend. The room and bathroom were both clean and spacious (our room had queen & twin beds, and a shower & bathtub), the bed was very comfortable, the selection of instant coffee and teas was adequate, and the staff were very friendly. We particularly liked the location of the hotel -- we were within a two-minute walk of a nicely stocked S... Read more

Killarney heights was amazing while i was there for a relatives wedding on saturday 18/6/16 it was a great service to people and couldn't have done more and as for the manager that bend backwords for the bride and groom i dont know why someone would say that he was scruffy as he was not at all scruffy but well groomed and presented as for the person who said he was scruffy must be a bitter person and someone who likes to complain for no reason and obviously doesn't know what good management look... As the bride of the wedding below I can't recommend and rate the heights highly enough. From the moment we booked the hotel for our reception everyone was so helpful and professional. Every manager I dealt with on the day was so accommodating and attention to detail was flawless. They kept checking in with us during the day and night to ensure everything was OK or if we needed anything. The drinks reception was beautifully laid out and the meal was superb and ran so smoothly and that is due to t... Read more

I have decided to re submit my review based on a few reviews posted after my first review. The evening I attended with my family was early in June not the wedding of 18.06.16. While I was delighted to hear that the guests of the evening of the 18th had such a great time and no complaints. However our EXPERIENCE was rather different as outlined below. I can‚??t fault the venue, the core team and atmosphere, My issue was with the treatment we received on that particular evening and I am giving an... Read more

I didnt stay in the hotel here but I did have a lovely lunch from the bar food menu. The staff were so friendly and really attentive. So much so I returned that evening for dinner (this is not a habit of mine) For dinner I had steak and again was not left disappointed by food or service. Next time I am in Killarney I will definitely return!

We stayed at the Heights while we were on an Alfa tour of Kerry and Dingle. The hotel is bigger than it appeared when I checked it out on line but it is well decorated, clean and comfortable. Our room was at the rear of the hotel an excellent size with a well appointed bathroom which had a bath and separate walk in shower. (It was lovely not to have to climb over the bath). Our room had a good size double bed with a single so presumably it is a family room. There was a French door which opened o... Read more

Just back from staying at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was updated and clean. Breakfast was very plentiful , fresh and a great choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The hotel is located a bit from the town so if you don't have a car it's a bit far out. I knew this so it didn't matter to me but the hotel is reasonably priced for its location

We stayed here towards the end of the peak of summer season and were pleasantly surprised at the value for money. We got a large comfortable room at the back of the hotel (not being one for views from windows as we prefer to explore. The staff were particularly helpful and pleasant (esp given that Killarney is a tourist trap bursting to the seams with holidaymakers). I would definitely come back. Its not luxury but we were still really satisfied.

As we were attended a wedding in this hotel last weekend we decided to booked in. First impression was quite good, good location, the room was quite roomy and comfy. Check in was a bit of a bother as there had been a wedding there the previous day so between these guests leaving and we arriving the was a bit of delay in getting to our rooms to change, the staff were very accommodating and pulled out all stops to get as many of the room ready. When I booked I left a request on my online booking. Then to make sure I would have rooms on upper floor with a nice view I sent an e-mail too which was answered by Sharon O'Leary. Now either she didn't do her job or the receptionist who assigned the rooms because when I arrived I saw immediately on my reg. card that I was allocated to a low floor room (it was 113 I think). I have worked on reception for 6 years (as a supervisor too) and now I'm on the reservations department now so I know how t... Read more

Fine 3 star hotel comfortable bed. Got a good room only rate. However if you stay in room 230 you could be woken by the loud water pumps. If there is a tour group getting up early, the rude awakening will occur at around 6.00 a.m and continue for an hour or more. It is quite loud! The water Pumps may have been fixed in April 2015 (see response to another review) but they need to be fixed again. The staff are nice and helpful at reception and the porter was nice. Attended a wedding recently and stayed over. It was our second time in 2016 to attend a wedding here. The staff were pleasant, the food was good especially the breakfast and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. All in all ... a nice atmosphere but oh my god ... the bar service was appalling, a nightmare, frustrating, a joke. How can a hotel get this so wrong ? My wife and I booked this hotel in a hurry as we had rented a cottage in the area and it was in such bad shape we left after one night. We booked this hotel and then showed up 3 hours later to check in if that tells you how much of a hurry it was. The women at check-in were very nice. There was a bit of wait for our room but I can't say I blame them considering we had just booked the room. We had a great start at check-in, as we had notified them in advance that we had bicycles and they had arranged secure storage for them during our stay. The room was very nice, and the bed was so-o-o comfortable I wish I could take it home. Breakfast was plentiful but the porridge was very watery and the scrambled eggs like mash. Some Danish pastries and a selection of meats and cheeses would have been a nice addition to the otherwise full Irish selection. I didn't see much in the way for glut... Read more

Lovely hotel with really well trained staff, food was excellent and our room was clean spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was 5 star. One major drawback was the lack of sufficient bar staff at what was a very large family occasion. This caused a lot of frustration among guests so much so that on the second night of our celebration a number of our group left the hotel and went into Killarney for some drinks (they said it was quicker. Overall very poor management evident in this area.
