We arrived late at night after a long flight to Ireland and driving across the whole country to get to Killarney. We received a warm and friendly welcome and we got a good hand with all our stuff (traveling with a two year old). Upon arrival we got an upgrade to a suite, which was just perfect. The room was very spacious, couch area, sleeping area (very comfy bed), big bathroom with walking shower and bathing tube; everything in good shape and enough space to reside as a young family. We spent 3 nights in this lovely hotel. Our suites were very spacious (approx 60+sqm), had brilliant views and included a Nespresso machine. The hotel is ideally situated for the Ring of Kerry and fantastic Dingle peninsula with really great views. However, we were generally disappointed in the aloof staff. The one dinner we had in the Lake Room restaurant was very disappointing. We waited close to an hour for our food while the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Our steaks were nothing special but t... Just about to check out after a lovely 2 night stay. Myself and my wife and 7 month old daughter came here for a quick two night stay. We try to come here 4/5 times a year for a night or 2 and it never fails to impress us. All the staff are excellent and must give a special mention to breda at breakfast and also our waiter at dinner last night. i never got his name. I would highly recommend the hotel for everyone

Very friendly, attentive welcome - utterly gorgeous view from our room and the quality of bed, sheets & pillows is still the very best I have experienced anywhere - luxurious! I enjoyed a wonderful Facial in the Spa. Thermal Suite had one or two things that couldn't be used as they were out of order, but it didn't really spoil our experience. Let's face it (literally) one is looking at Heaven On Earth with the glorious views of Kerry! Later enjoyed the most fab cocktails expertly mixed with Ir... Read more

But as a golf tour operator, I am reporting on my customers experiences. my customers responses is the only reason why I would recommend or not recommend a hotel. I have stayed at a lot of hotels, many of them expensive, and I can honestly put this one in the top 5. The value for what you get is amazing and the service superior. Our waiter Stephen in the lounge was so great we requested him for dinner the second night after having drinks the first! The view can't be beat and the location to town is convenient while still feeling private away from the city. An east drive to the Ring of Kerry and the city centre though. Tranquil and luxurious, with spectacular views of Killarney Park and one of the few hotels in the area with air conditioning. This is a wonderful place for total relaxation and pampering. Staff were welcoming and genuine. Don't be fooled by the outside, as the hotel interior is luxurious in an understated way and is being refurbished. (Ask for a refurbished room, top floor.) Easy enough to find with signage and an excellent reception team that made you feel very welcome. The porter gives you a mini-tour as he brings you to your room and that's a massive bonus and offers a touch of class. When we booked, we actually ended up asking to move room. We paid for what we thought would be a more superior room and while it was a big room with plenty of space it overlooked the car park and there wasn't much of a view to right home about. This modern hotel overlooking the lough and just outside Killarney is an oasis. The staff is charming and helpful and the rooms are generous with plenty of upscale amenities. THere is a pool and a spa and the hotel will arrange for complimentary car service into town should you wish. From my room the lough is an ever changing scene as the weather comes and goes and the mist shrouds the lough and then is blown away by the wind. The bar and dining room on the upper floor are placed for the perf... Read more

Enjoyed our visit to the ring of Kerry. The hotel is relatively modern (appears 90's vintage). Helpful staff and informative. Did not try the spa as we had no time. The views from the hotel are very nice. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was good quality and service. Parking is easy but seems to be full most of the time. Walkable to a nice park with great views of the lake.

One of, if not the most glorious place I've ever visited. Wonderful facility; everyone was incredibly cordial from Breda, our breakfast hostess to the courtesy limo driver. And the views- simply spectacular. If you are looking for an amazing getaway or just passing through Kilarney, Aghadoe is a must.

Staff good. Room good. Evening meal mediocre. Bad Irish coffee. Breakfast 5/10. Latte coffee awful. They charging big money for 5 star and they can't seem to get some of the most basic things right. Dissapointed , wont be back. Because of the price v overall experience. I cannot recommend. In fact. AVOID.

We recently booked a night away for my birthday and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. We were upgraded to a lake view room which was a lovely birthday touch. The room was breathtaking with views to kill for ,modern decor , luxurious feel and an nespresso coffee machine for that extra touch . We ate in the lounge that night and found the experience again to be fabulous , great food , nice atmosphere , and great staff . Talking of great staff special mention must go to B... Read more

The hotel is not much to look at from the outside, but that is all forgotten as soon as you step inside. The staff are very welcoming, and although our room wasn't ready due to our early arrival we were shown to the bar / restaurant area for drinks and food. The Murphy's was excellent, as was the beef sandwich that came with many accompaniments. We were eventually shown to our room (457) and it was superb. A living area contained a Nespresso coffee machine, table and sofa, whilst the bedroom are... Read more

We have been traveling for 10 days all around Ireland. The Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa is definitely the best hotel in our trip. All the personnel is extremely friendly, very used to american travelers. The hotel decor is stunning, a mixture of antiques, local art, and modern decor. The hotel is purple, white, and blue. So elegant. Bedrooms are so comfortable, with amazing views. The shower in the bathroom is inviting. Perfect for tired travelers. Spa is peaceful and the service is... Read more

Enjoyed a lovely overnight here recently as a treat. We were a party of 2 daughters and our mother. We really enjoyed our stay. Highlights were the really lovely pillows which we are still talking about. I must go back and treat myself to a pair. We really did have a lovely comfortable sleep. I really enjoyed breakfast and especially enjoyed the honeycomb. Staff were very helpful and lovely. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star review is we booked and paid for 3 peopke and products and gowns... Read more

We stayed in the Aghadoe heights hotel for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. For a 5 star hotel Aghadoe had a warmth and charm that made you feel that you were staying with friends. Our room had the most amazing views of lake, islands and mountains and the views were equally accessible from the bars and restaurant. Our room was beautifully appointed, spotless and very, very comfortable. We ate in the hotel for the 3 nights and enjoyed the food every time, the bar was also a fun place to rela... Read more

Very secluded country manor house filled with antiques and interesting art overlooking Loch Awe. Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, good food, charming rooms with spacious bathrooms, and picturesque grounds. Since we were traveling and touring, we found it a little out of the way as it is 20-25 minutes off the main road on a very windy, narrow road. Stay here if you want to be away from it all!

Got offered deal for this hotel so thought I would try it as I had heard so much and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it is. From arrival to departure we were treated very very well by very friendly and professional staff. We arrived late Friday afternoon we went for a stroll around the grounds and surrounding sights, followed by a fresh up in a very nice bathroom with very fluffy towels. Now refreshed and awake we hit the bar for a drink and a browse of the bar menu. It was attractiv... Read more

We spent three nights at this hotel and hated to leave. The view from our room was absolutely spectacular. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, clean, and well appointed. We also enjoyed the food in the restaurant and appreciated the vegetarian options that were available on the menu. Staff members were all very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for two nights on a family trip. We had just stayed at a rather beautiful hotel in Ardmore with a beautiful view of the sea so I was ready to be disappointed here. However, this place had an even more beautiful view and my room had a balcony where I could sit and admire the sea, mountains, and the ancient ruins across the street. The room was quite comfortable. The service was average, nothing to brag nor complain about.

We stayed her for 2 nights on our second leg of our journey from Dublin to Galway. Wish we could have stayed longer. Fell in love with Killarney and the hotel was beautifully located. The room was modern, clean with a great view, enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Food was also very good and they accommodated my dietary restrictions without hesitation. But at the end of the day it all comes down to customer service and this hotel knows how to wow the guest! From the minute we checked in to our reluct... Read more

We've been coming here for 35 years and we keep coming back for the superb friendly staff service. Best in Europe so far as I'm concerned. They also run a great bar which overlooks Lough leane and the Smitwicks is to die for! Served chilled. The ambience of the hotel is great- relaxing and friendly. Well worth a visit- we will return.

We spent two nights at the Aghadoe on our Ireland sojourn (we traveled from Dublin to Killarney to Shannon). How amazing. Afternoon tea and dining in the dining room was amazing. I absolutely loved the hotel's presentation of the vegetarian curry. And it was yummy, too! The grounds were amazing. The views of the lakes were breathtaking. The spa was great - my husband and I did the thermal suite and I had a wonderful deep-sea wrap the next day. We absolutely love Killarney - going into town for s... Read more
