I had a room with a double bed, big bathroom, shower and tub included. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, breakfast is nice, and more than enough. The hotel has a funky layout, which does not impact its usefulness, the location is perfect as it is across from the mansion house and in walking distance of downtown Dublin. The current downside is that in front of the hotel the city is working on the tram system, which makes this a bit tricky with traffic, smell and noise, but that will pas... Read more

Stayed 2 nights to attend a concert and sightsee Dublin. All so easy from this hotel, 5 minutes walk from temple bar. Rooms large, clean and all amenities. Staff very helpful eg looking after luggage, friendly and informative. Did not book breakfast but lots of local coffee shops for snack or full Irish breakfast. Easy walk to Guinness Storehouse, Zoo and Jameson Distillery. Well recommended hotel

I was gifted a night in this hotel last weekend. When I arrived I was told there was t a lift & including the high steps to get to the entrance there was another two flights of steep steps to reach the reception! This hotel does have a lift at the back of a long bar but even using this there were steps on the 3rd floor to reach the room. Arrived late in the afternoon and were initally impressed with the reception area. I had upgraded the room as a suprise for my partner but the receptionist had no record of the upgrade. She asked for proof which i did not have due to the upgrade being agreed over the phone. After an awkward length of time where the suprise was ruined a record was found and we were checked in. On first look, the room had grandeur and was spacious. Upon closer inspection, there were scuff marks on the walls, crack... Read more

Location is great, bar is nice. The room was so so. Every time you walked around the room the wardrobe creeked. Decor was out dated. Went to bed at approx 12.30, the noise from the bar was so loud in the room. It got worse when the disco started, it felt like the pillows were vibrating and went on until 3.30am. Finally we thought we could get to sleep, then the fire alarm went off. It was a false alarm! And again about 20 mins later it went off again. Only we had a few beers we would have drove ... Great for groups of hen or stag do's. Certainly not your quiet romantic room for two. Opulent if somewhat dated bedroom. Ours was with an oriental theme. The bathroom was marble and tarnished brass fittings...but who cares on a hen weekend? We had been warned when booking, that club noise would be an issue. In fact our room key came with a complimentary cocktail in Sams bar (where the bass buzz comes from). It wasn't so much the boom of the beat, but the vibration which juddered the toothpaste lid... When I booked this hotel i booked the only room available which apparently was called a 'vibrant package' it didn't specify what that entailed so I booked my non refundable reservation because i had no intention of cancelling. My confirmation came through which had a disclaimer telling me that we 'may" be affected by noise from the bar that's open till 4am! I have to firstly say that the staff in this hotel are truly 5*. Nothing was too much for them, incredibly helpful and very very friendly. Beautiful Room (Luxury Junior Suite). Was very impressed...Excellent value for money. Breakfast was made freshly to order (no buffet)-excellent! Staff extremely polite and helpful. The only negative point was we were situated at the front of the hotel and there is on-going work with the Luas Tram. This meant that the traffic was reduced to one lane. The only thing our room was missing Thursday night was a disco ball. Otherwise it was a fantastic night club themed bedroom! Great bass and beat from below :-) The best way to have a good stay at this hotel is to be sure you are out late yourself each night or knock yourself out early with a bottle of something strong.

There was road works going on right outside our room, but check in staff informed us as soon as we arrived. We were told they have double Windows to cut down on the noise, wasn't an issue. The bar next door has a great vibe and great cocktail list. Location is perfect, excellent place for a Dublin weekend

Fabulous hotel everything was to our liking. Room, staff, restaurants. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Will be staying there again when visiting Dublin. Was up for the Andrea Bocelli concert that was fantastic too.

I stayed for three nights this week. I won't be returning. Lots of different issues, mainly to do with cleaning/housekeeping. Dirty tea cups and spoons in the room. Dusty furniture. Dirty bed sheets also, unacceptable. Not suitable for older/elderly people as lots of walking and stairs to get to the rooms. Five star prices and more like a hostel.

Oh dear. We are easy going and liked the quirkiness of the stairs. But dear god, the music. It's not the music even that's the problem, it's the bass vibrating through the rooms and pulsating through the pillow into my head. My husband and I are on layover from Sicily to New York after our honeymoon and wanted a night in Dublin. I booked the hotel from Priceline.com. I've never reviewed a proper hotel before, I only do that for AirBnBs, but this one warrants a review because I hate hate hate hat... Read more

Excellent hotel which I would highly recommend. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage and providing us with a cocktail from the bar next door. The rooms were very big, with a large bathroom and all the facilities you would expect. If you can, try the breakfast, very tasty full Irish.

The hotel has rooms directly above a nightclub and no matter what floor you are on, if you stay Thursday - Saturday you WILL hear music until 3am in your room. The hotel have turned this into some sort of marketing trick by calling rooms directly above the nightclub 'Vibrant' rooms. I booked a double room for a weekend as we were staying for a wedding via Booking.com. At no point does the booking process make any reference to the consequences of staying in one of these Vibrant rooms. It is only... Read more

My wife and I stayed for four nights at the Dawson in early September 2016.It's a very comfortable hotel in a great location - a half block from Trinity College, a half block from Stephens Green, one block from Grafton Street, the pedestrian mall and shopping district and an easy walk to Temple Bar. We booked a junior suite and it proved to be spacious, comfortable and elegant. There is no elevator and the reception is on the second floor, so if no one is there to greet you when you arrive, le... Read more

Prior to booking we noted that on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday there would likely be music heard in the rooms as a result of the bar/nightclub which is part of the hotel. We arrived on Sunday afternoon having travelled to the hotel by the Aircoach which was a great way to transfer to the city. We were met by friendly staff who assisted us with our case. The booking in procedure was good and the staff were very helpful. The porter took the case to the room, there are stairs when entering the ... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate his birthday. We had a wonderful , restful stay. The staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was great- we had a full Irish which was so large I couldn't finish it. We had a standard delux room which was more than satisfactory. Location is perfect for strolling around the city. We will most certainly be back.

We spent 2 nights in the Deluxe Junior Suite and were blown away. The room is like a palaces bedroom!. Best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The hotel itself is also great. Perfectly situated in the centre of Dublin, a 2 minute walk from grafton street and the great 37 Dawson Street Bar next door. The staff also were extremely friendly and helpful during the stay and helped to make it the hotel we will always use when in Dublin.

I am writing this to warn people that they might not get what they expect when they book this hotel. I chose it online because it was within walking distance of Trinity College and the famous Book of Kells. I booked a "classic room" online at 170 dollars a night for a three night stopover on our way back from Italy. I left my husband sitting on the sidewalk with 4 suitcases while I went to find the lobby and check in. I had to ask at one of the two attached restaurants on the ground floor w... Read more

The hotel is lovely and our suite was beautiful huge big bathroom and was all super clean! The only downside was we stayed on a Friday and there is a club downstairs and it did keep us awake! The manager did take this into account on checkout and deducted some money off our bill! It was just very unfortunate our room was directly above the club! Staff were all very friendly too! Would go back just maybe not on a Friday or Saturday !

I took my wide here for our second wedding anniversary and was looking forward to a relaxing stay with some spa treatments. Our first night was horrendous. Our "Junior Suite" was a big room but in my opinion not very luxurious and had no natural light from the windows as the room was the on the inner part of the hotel. We returned back to our room from a night out around 10 or 11 ish but gettinmg any sleep was completely out the question due to the noise from Sams bar downstairs. At one point ar... Read more

Recently stayed in a junior suite at the Dawson hotel&spa. The hotel is right in the heart of Dublin and a short stumble away from Temple Bar. The stairs kept us fit but weren't really an issue to be honest. The hotel has a nice, luxurious feel - although not entirely as luxurious as you might expect for the price of the rooms- for example, we had asked for a toothbrush which we waited up for and never arrived and I've seen nicer tea/coffee making facilities - though they were adequate I didn't... A strange hotel, which everyone knows as La Stampa - a previously well known restaurant yet now a broken up muddled attempt at a hotel. The entrance and reception is upstairs and off the side - I had no recognition from anyone for three days whilst there as they cannot see you go in or out the hotel. The breakfast is served in the old La Stampa where we looked last night to see what was happening at back - a tis restaurant empty and dead - asked is this the bar and told no the bar is Sams Bar ne... The location of the property was excellent just off St Stephen's Green and within easy walking distance to the shops, theatres, restaurants etc. 10/10 for location. Unfortunately down hill from there - The room we had (301) was definitely not 4* standard. There was a damp musty smell when you opened the door even though the two windows were wide open. We were told that we were on the top floor as this was quieter- the music could be heard well into the small hours from the bars below so wou... Read more

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Dawson Hotel and Spa. My girlfriend and I had a junior suite, room 325, and it was quite simply superb. Upon arrival we were greeted by two very welcoming and informative members of staff, who swiftly checked us in and made us feel at home. Showing us to the room was a nice touch. The room itself was immaculate. Spacious and well decorated with all the amenities in the room you'd expect. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and the bat... Read more
