just needed a place to sleep and maybe eat, but turns out i will go back there - very friendly staff and decent hotel room - nothing special but comfortable and quiet. I would recommend for couples that are sightseeing etc you dont need to spend the big bucks here. good breakfast as well

I have stayed here twice for work conferences next day. It is within walking distance of Heuston Train Station. This hotel is great value, clean and convenient. The staff are friendly and efficient. I slept well here despite it fronting onto a main road

This place has so many mixed reviews but I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very helpful since we're from Australia and have no idea what's best to get around (I recommend the green hop on hop off buses). The staff were great and the location was prime for its value. We had a pleasant stay and I'd recommend it.

Located what we thought would be a convienient walking distance. If it was not, we had rented a car so it would not be an issue. The Phoenix has no car park. The only place to park is one street up. The car park only allows you to purchase a max of 3 hours at ?1.60 an hour. The front desk claims they cannot make change, yet they serve breakfast... Questionable... The hotel appears Ro be clean for the most part. The rooms are smaller. It reminds me of a hostel with private bath. The shower was ... Read more

Rooms are small and a bit stuffy but it is well placed for Park, Zoo and Houston Station. Receptionist are very helpful. Everything we asked for was found for us. Breakfast is good and shared with general public as it's a walk in from the street. Makes for a very interesting breakfast!

The room was small and poorly laid out. However it did have everything. I Would worry what would happen in the event of a fire. Hotel was convenient location to train station and the luas. I would definitely not stay there again.

I stayed here on business for one night. The room was very small and pokey however the en suite shower was good. Breakfast is only served from 8.30 which probably isn't to practical for business travellers . My major gripe was the fact that the noise insulation between rooms is very poor. My upstairs neighbours through no fault of their own woke me very early. All in all a false economy and best avoided.

Great location - 2min walk to Phoenix Park & 10 mins to Heuston Station, Guinness Factory etc. Plenty of bus stops & you could get the LUAS from Heuston to the city centre if you want. It's about a 20-30 min walk to the centre, Temple Bar etc. First impressions were good. Check-in went well, receptionist was friendly & helpful (didn't catch her name) we were in Room 311 on the 2nd floor. Thankfully there's a lift. The room was small yet cosy with a double bed & a settee. It had all mod cons. W... Read more

If you are desperate for a cheap hotel near the Heuston Station go for it but keep in mind that Dublin city center is not huge and you can take public transportation to the station. I hated my stay here so much that I didn't want to come back to the hotel even when I was exhausted after my day trip. This hotel is more like a motel. My review will be long but please take the time to read it before you decide to take a chance. Reasons why this "hotel" will ruin your trip: 1. Dirty, dirty, dirty: ... Read more

Sometimes on life's journey we all make mistakes. Staying in Phoenix Park Hotel has been one of mine. No matter how much or how little you pay for a hotel room you expect a certain standard of cleanliness. This hotel did not meet that standard. I would not recommend or stay in this hotel again

booked this hotel for the bloom flower show and was really disappointed. The cleanliness of this hotel was awful there was dust everywhere. mould on the walls the, window frames and in the shower.the floor looked like it had never seen a vacume cleaner for weeks.I know it was a three star hotel but come on really this went beyond a joke.would avoid this hotel at all cost and would cetainly never recommend it to anyone let alone family or friends

This hotel has 3 stars and I'm disappointed to say that it should be reviewed. The single room was located above the reception along the hall and the walls are not soundproof, so it was quite noisy. I had to ask for towels as they were none and the shower tray filled up with water. Otherwise, the room was clean and bed was ok too. I was not able to get breakfast as it is served way too late (around 8:45). Only if you really have to would I advise you stay there as it is conveniently placed to He... Read more

We just spent 1 night in that place. The lift and corridors were very narrow, it was a tough job getting our luggage into our "room". The "room" had a terrible tobacco smell, the bathroom was 1.5 meter by 2 meter, there was mould and the smell of mould. Avoid this "hotel" at all cost when you're claustrophobic. We paid ? 4.80 for 2 bottles of still water at the reception, no glass. It's like the joke about the former Belgian Airline Company Sabena : Such A Boring Experience Never Again.

We stayed four nights in this hotel and on the first night discovered the bed was wonky, we reported it to reception and were told it would be replaced or fixed that day. Got back that night to find it hadn't been, reported to reception again and told there was nothing they could do about it. The phone in the room didn't work at all. The shower was barely luke warm even on the hottest setting, and the toilet didn't flush properly. Will not bother staying here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights mid August and had a fantastic time. Got to the hotel early, a few hours before check in, and they offered to keep our bags safe which they did in a locked room which looked like it was used primarily for storage. Staff was very friendly and on the morning of checking out they even asked if we needed more time for check out or if they could keep our belongings safe again. Room was small but clean. This hotel is basic with some significant improvements needed to decoration in the room we stayed in. The mattress was in need of replacing urgently and some care and attention to small detail required, for instance the kettles plug was not long enough to reach the socket situated half way up the wall so had to stand holding it until it had boiled - I guess not a major issue but just annoying. Where to start, better get a cup of tea and relax, Booked this "hotel" if you could call it that as I was taking part in the half marathon in the Phoenix park so figured it was very handy for that. Arrived after 5pm and on arrival was informed that the money had been taking out of my account from the card details I provided which I figured was very cheeky. Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Dublin. The hotel is on the outskirts of Dublin near Phoenix Park (hence the name) and Heuston Station. The room had a comfy bed and the bathroom was large. The price was good and getting 'continental' breakfast included was a bonus - this was tea/coffee/juice, cereal & toast. Where do I begin? I'm not picky by any means but our room was very poorly kept. The carpet was dirty with dust all over the furniture. Our bathroom had mold & water damage on the ceiling and the shower had black mold all around it's base. We quickly figured out why. There were leaks in two spots. From what I have read and heard about this hotel, I wasn't exactly expecting anything amazing, but I was highly disappointed with the room. For a double room, it was tiny. Upon entering and opening the room door, you walk into a round table, which served no purpose other than took up space and served as an obstacle. The bathroom on the other hand was large (nearly as big as the bedroom!!!), but both the toilet seat and toilet roll holder (wall mounted) were loose. Instead, the toilet roll wa... Read more
