Our room was very spacious with good facilities, and a request for assistance was attended to very promptly. The hotel is located near a number (and variety) of eating places, and it has a restaurant with room service available. Our stay included buffet breakfasts which were very well presented - an impressive variety of dishes for all tastes. The staff were quite outstanding. The only downside was the difficulty in connecting to the hotel wifi.

Just back from 3 nights in the refurbished Mespil which we have not stayed with since Dec 2015. Excellent as always & superb staff. Most comfortable beds! Unfortunately prices have increased but I guess this is to be expected, however we did think the breakfast is overpriced even though good. One point....Please would you consider replacing / upgrading the dreadful toasters! Otherwise, a truly excellent Hotel. We stayed here twice in May. Both times the rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. The room on the 4th floor overlooking the canal was the best by far. The rooms are very warm so leave the window open. The rooms have an iron and ironing board BUT BEWARE. The iron was so hot that as soon as I touched it to my pants it instantly burned a hot completely though the material. Hotel was clean and staff was all very helpful. We stayed during our last two nights in Dublin and it was good to stay in a quieter part of Dublin. Easily walkable to great food and bars. Recommend Sussex house for food and underneath is a bar M.O'Briens walkable from the hotel. Easily get a taxi to the airport through the front desk and it was a great place to end our trip.

Stayed here for a business function recently. The room was of reasonable size, especially when you consider the city centre location, good bed, all the usual facilities from a room of this type. Bathroom was spotless although, if being picky, the water pressure on the shower wasn't great. The only negative was, ad this would be a tip for summer (yeah, we do have them in Ireland) is get a room on the East/South side of the hotel......mine was on the West, was facing the sun and the room had no ... Hotel is situated in a very nice area, close to number of pubs and a very short taxi ride from City centre. Check in was quick and receptionist very polite. Room was large, clean and modern. Bit of noise in the morning from construction site but did not bother us too much. Hotel secured at night with night manager checking room numbers on the door. Would definitely stay again

Brilliant hotel for business. Clean and tidy, easy access to the buses and walkable to the main attractions. Food in bar and for breakfast d Good quality and easy to book online direct. Wifi also good. Only negatives are sometimes they have big American tour groups and the tables can take over breakfast a bit.

Absolutely loved this hotel! About a 20min walk into the city. We enjoyed our stroll through St. Stephens Green on the way into the hustle bustle of Temple Bar. The contemporary decor of the main reception areas were top notch as were the uniforms of all the staff. All the staff were polite, pleasant, professional and not at all elitist which was a welcoming feature in itself. We enjoyed an overnight stay in an executive double room. After several nights on very firm mattresses, the Mespil had a wonderful pillow top mattress with super smooth sheets. Ahhh. Very quiet, clean and spacious room. We had a shower only in the bath, but it had excellent water pressure. Mespil road is adjacent to the grand canal in Dublin, so it was an easy walk to museums and shopping. A very nice breakfast buffet the next morning prior to heading out. Stayed one night at The Mespil as part of a tour. It is big hotel and the corridor to our room reminded me of a hospital. However our room was clean, bright and spacious with free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. Sadly there wasn't a fridge or a room safe. Also you needed a science degree to operate the shower. Fine for a one nighter. Our previous hotel in this leafy suburb was much better value.

This is quite average hotel in my opinion. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing what I can praise. Rooms are spacious and beds are quite comfortable. The furniture in the rooms are not modern, some refresh is needed. There is all what you need to prepare coffee or a tea in the room and standard equipment in bathroom. Unfortunatelly it is rather far away from the Dublin airport, approx. 45 min by taxi, but hotel is located in nice neighbourhood.

Nice, clean hotel right next to multiple restaurants and a canal, which is a nice area to walk around. The location is pretty good too, about 15min away from St. Stephen's Green. They also arranged for a room with a view of the canal free of charge. The staff are great offering help with public transport and locations and the option for food in the morning are great too with a good selection for the continental breakfast and solid options for the full irish.

Stayed there with my girlfriend 3 nights in august 2016. It is a very nice hotel, the staff are very polite, the breakfast was very good and it was quiet during the night. We are very satisfied with this hotel and we recommend it strongly. We will be back :-) It took approximately 20 min to walk into downttown Dublin. But you can pass St Stephens Green Parc on your way so you get to see a lot. Taxi cost appr 10 EUR to the city and 30 EUR to the airport.

Stayed at the Mespil for 3 nights in August. Found the hotel to be clean with large rooms, and comfortable. Hotyel was located about a 15 minute walk from Saint Stephen's Green. There were a number of eateries and pubs very close to the hotel. The Mespil also had a restaurant and cafe, both of which served well prepared meals in a clean and well lit venue. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Would stay there again.

I had booked Mespil Hotel for its convenient location and was not disappointed. Check-in was smooth and friendly, I liked my room, the mattress was remarkably comfortable. The only thing I disliked was the lighting (very dim and even in the bathroom it was hard to see enough to apply make-up) and the fact that the shower caused serious "flooding" of the bathroom floor despite a closed shower cubicle door. Stayed in this hotel on the Marathon weekend, but were in Dublin for a wedding. Any good points that the hotel had were overshadowed for me by the fact that the hefty price that we had paid did not include breakfast. This was offered to us when I booked online on the hotel website at 15 Euro per person. This is extortionate and we instead left the hotel on both mornings and had breakfast elsewhere. This feels very inhospitable on the part of the hotel and although I know it has become standard p... Read more

Excellent hotel in a brilliant location. We went to Temple Bar one evening, taxi was less than 10 euros!!!!! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially John. Great for a little weekend break. No complaints whatsoever.

We booked an Executive King room with Hotels.com and were a much smaller accessible room on arrival. We asked to be changed to another room and we moved to a better room and requested a bath in our room, but were was no bath and also no heat on in the room. We contacted reception, and were told that the heat was on a timer between 5pm and 11pm, ridiculous for a 4 star hotel and so cold outside on the 19th November 2016. We arrived back in our room at 8.30pm and there was no heat on at all. W... Read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights and were pleased with the hotel and staff. The reception staff were efficient in checking us in. The hotel had a modern theme to it and was nicely decorated. Our room was well appointed, clean and warm. The beds were comfortable with new bedding. The shower was hot and strong and the bathroom was very clean and in good condition. The bar was tastefully done with heaps of wood and good seating. The staff in all areas of the hotel were friendly. I left 2 new t... Read more

We stayed here 3 nights as part of a tour. The location is convenient as we walked to St. Stephen's Greene and the city center. Restaurants are around the corner. The room was adequate, quite warm. We had to open the window. They had a hair dryer in the room. There were shampoo/conditioners and soap in the bathroom. Water pressure was good in the shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was better than I expected with eggs, sausage, blood pudding, cereals, breads, juices, etc. I would definitel... Read more

We stayed in the hotel at the beginning of November for 3 nights. The rooms were lovely and clean, the hot Buffet and continental breakfast was enjoyed by all. The Lounge bar was also lovely, we retreated there each night before going back to our rooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

We spent our first night in Dublin in this lovely hotel - the room was very clean, spacious, and most of all, QUIET! The breakfast is buffet style - if there are tours in the hotel when you are there, arrive for breakfast prior to the tour guests as the line ups can be long. We had no problem at all and the buffet is very good.

We had a great weekend in this lovely hotel. It is in a great location about 20 minutes walk from city centre. Room was lovely and spacious, the only complaint would be the toiletries which I thought were poor for such a great hotel. The breakfast was brillant, buffet style with a huge array of food. The bar area was lovely and relaxing and the staff were very good. We will definitely stay here again

This is a lovely hotel, located about ten minutes walk from St Stephen's Green and therefore very close to the shopping district of Dublin. The rooms are spacious and the staff very helpful. The breakfast has everything you would expect and sets you up nicely for the day. We were staying there because of the Ireland vs. Australia rugby match, so on the Saturday evening after the game the bar was packed. However, the bar staff were working really hard to ensure everyone got served very quickly. T... Read more

Stayed 3 nights as part of a Gate 1 Tour of Ireland. Location is excellent--about a 20 minute walk to city center and maybe another 10 minutes to Temple Bar. Cab will do it in about 10 minutes for about 10 euros with tip. Around the hotel you have many restaurants of varying prices from inexpensive chip shops to fancy pubs-we particularly liked Searson's just around the corner. There is also a SPAR convenience store around the corner to stock up on snacks and drinks. Ask the front desk for a ... Read more

I stayed in the Mespil for 2 months! I was there for work. I would say that it's excellent but I can not for two reasons. The personal and the hotel in it self is and are excellent, never found people that work in the hotel that are so helpful and kind. Those few times that I asked for something it was done without saying "we will see". On the other side the only two bad things for me about the Mespil is there wifi systems is not one of the best, had lots of problems with it, and the other is th... Read more

Visually a four star both common areas and rooms. Clean comfy etc. Breakfast is a bit of a free for all. The hot buffet is too small for the number of customers. Food seems rationed. Fresh fruit yesterday none today (canned peaches today). No muesli just lower cost cerials. Free parking should read free, very limited parking. So 3 not 4 star.
