I stayed two weeks at the Marine before and after attending a wedding in Clontarf Castle. Very reasonable priced. Friendly service. They guided me in while driving on the opposite side of the road on the opposite side of the rental car. Handy location for transpiration by train or bus or cab to Dublin City Center or sights like Howth. Supper find for me!!

Lovely relaxing hotel, nice beach and garden view, staff so friendly and accommodating, modern quaint hotel, lots of locals seem to use the hotel, food lovely and bar relaxing, I would definitely return to this lovely hotel, so relaxing and laid back.

The Marine is a beautiful hotel, with an amazing backdrop of the Irish Sea and Dublin / Wicklow mountains. Pleasant hotel with a cosy atmosphere, beautiful patio area out the back, nice to have a beer and / or bite to eat when the sun comes out. Ideally located with the beautiful Howth, a 5min drive up the road and city centre is a 15drive or you have the option of buses and trains to get around. Staff are very friendly and polite.

The bar was busy, but not extremely busy! However we had to wait nearly twenty minutes to be served at the bard, and the staff at times ignored us at the bar, as if we weren't there. However the view was amazing, and with a bit of sun, there was no better place in Dublin to be.

A short trip from the airport (DUB), or to Dublin (via Bus or DART Rapid Transit), this hotel offers all the benefits that Dublin has to offer, but in a peaceful, placid, waterfront location. The staff were consistently friendly, warm, helpful, and genuine (a VERY Special Thank You to Ciara for all your help !!!). The rooms were clean, though a little dated; the windows open, revealing an unobstructed view of the Bay of Dublin (though admittedly, it was almost always low tide while we were both ... Read more

The hotel itself is fine and we chose it because of its proximity to the airport and public transportation into Dublin. This negative review is because of management's disregard for the health and safety of my family. We arrived late and exhausted after a full day of travel. We had two side by side rooms, which was great for our family of six. The first room we went into was fine and the kids began getting settled. When we opened the door to the second room, we were confronted with an unbearable... Read more

Down for a first communion party. The hotel and the rooms are quite traditional and a little old fashioned. Room was large, airy and clean with a good clean en suite and the sea could be seen from the window. The staff were excellent, very friendly and always there to help happily. The first communion do, was various first communion families all together in a large dining room which opened out onto a large lawn which ran down to the seaside, although gated at the sea which was great with all th... Stayed here last night. Great reception staff. Very efficient and courteous. I needed a fan and they got me one straight away with no fuss. The room was lovely - spacious, comfortable and clean, with a great view over the sea. The hotel bar isn't great - really more of a multi-purpose space. Breakfast was nice. I went for "the full Irish" - a little treat I would never have at home! I was surprised and disappointed that there were no sausages. I was even more surprised when the people at the ... Read more

Excellent standard of accommodation having your own iron & ironing board is a nice touch for any traveller. Dined on two consecutive evenings. Both of us were very happy with our mains and deserts. Prices quiet acceptable. Would recommend and stay again if in the area.

Our room was big with lots of space to unpack. We overlooked the back of the hotel and the reception rooms, unfortunately a wedding took place and did not finish untill 2 in the morning. The breakfast was good and the hotel is not far from public transport.

A good hotel, just only 20 minutes from Dublin center (by bus). Room very large and confortable (but not frigo bar), the breakfast is a little bit poor, but good enough for an Italian like me. The restaurant and the bar have a good location but the food is just sufficient. Last, the room cost was too much high.

Hotel with character and a wonderful view of a little bay. Sure you could find fault if you like, but the rooms with the sea view are good. Its certainly a wedding venue with a public bar rather than chain hotel. Bathroom smells are a little disturbing until you realise its the smell from the bay. Easy to get into dublin by train. Otherwise prices do vary a bit.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and for different reasons. There is always a friendly, informative and helpful staff. The staff are its greatest resource who help create a warm welcoming environment which makes our stay enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with bay views. The food menu provides for all tastes from snacks to 3/4 course meals. Tasty meals and prompt service. Convenient location to city centre with easy access to public transport.

This is a nice friendly hotel in a quite part of Dublin. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable with a partial view of the sea. It has all you need but at one stage the music from the funtion room was quite loud. Thankfully it did not continue for too long. The bar food was adequate but on this day the bar staff were ran off they're feet. It took ten minutes to get served at the bar. I had to order double rounds because life is too short. Breakfast was ve... Read more

Spent one night here recently. We were allocated one of the rooms with a sea view . The room itself was spacious, spotless and very comfortable but the view made it special. I could have spent a day by the window watching the ships sailing and the sea/skyscape- and because there is a very civilized 12pm checkout- i actually did that! Breakfast was good- nothing spectacular but not at all bad. We didn't eat here in the evening as restaurant is only open Wed to Sunday. The bar does food and it loo... Read more

I visited this hotel after a burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery. There were 60+ in the company for dinner at the Marine. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The soup and roll were pretty ok as were the profiteroles for dessert. Unfortunately the main course (no choice) was tasteless chicken, 'smash' potatoes, poor roast potato and mediocre vegetables. There was some kind of mushroom sauce which was poor. Many of the diners left chicken behind on their plates I noted. I was at a funeral in ... Read more

Thankfully I was only staying one night. After a night out in Howth, I arrived to the hotel only to be locked out. Both the taxi driver and myself tried phoning and buzzing the door to no reply. I was facing the prospect of sleeping on the doorstep. Do the Marine Hotel mention there's a curfew when booking?? No. I did eventually get in but I would rather sleep on the beach if I'm out that neck of the woods again.

Situated in the Dublin village of Sutton. This Hotel is located at a crossroads close to Howth Harbour and Marina. The Hotel is a bit dated. The breakfast needs a bit of imagination. The reception staff are very welcoming. There is a swimming pool available to residents. Some of the rooms look out to the sea and are quiet to sleep in.

There are very few quality places to stay in N Dublin for the business traveller. This is a Nice hotel in peaceful spot with access to the beach. The food is excellent in the lounge bar with a decent selection of fish dishes for a Dublin hotel. Rooms are ok, not extravagant but clean and nicely furnished. If you are looking for a quiet in rushed experience then this is ideal.

I select this hotel on account of its location, as I was travelling with a young Family. The room was well decorated, but I naively thought the smell of the room was from lack of use or somebody smoking in the room previously. I opened the windows to let it settle. We had dinner in the hotel on the evening, but the hotel was unable to accommodate us in the restaurant. When we when back up to the room the odour had not lifted even with windows open. I complaint at reception and the manager a... Read more

We booked the restaurant for a 60th Birthday as we have gone here several times before and were never disappointed. We had just over 30 people all with different requests, some unusual and others just fusy but regardless of this nothing was a problem with everybody being completely satisfied which is down to management & staff. A huge thanks for your very attentive and professional staff. The food was absolutely perfect, each course was plentiful, very well presented with that freshness taste t... Read more

Welcoming and friendly staff who were always happy to help. Great breakfast with a good selection of food. I liked that breakfast was freshly cooked in the kitchen. The room was clean with everything I needed, however it had a musty smell when I first arrived. After opening the window before I left for town, the smell was gone. I had a beautiful view from my window over the back lawn and the sea. The hotel is within easy reach of Dublin City Centre and just 5 mins away by Dart or Car from Howt... Read more

My family and I attended a birthday lunch here for 15+ adults and 4 children. We were the only people in the entire restaurant for the 3 hours, though the Sunday carvery in the back appeared busy. The food was extremely disappointing, people who ordered chicken didn't finish it as it was bland and the lamb appeared to be re-heated slices. We wont be returning.

My husband and I spent three nights at the Marine Hotel over last week-end. We loved the hotel, our bedroom 242 was at the back with a beautiful view over the sea which changes regularly with yachts, boats and water sports. The hotel is charming with character and probably lots of history. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the reception team were excellent. Our only complaint was the awful tea, nobody seems to be able to make a decent cup of tea which in an Irish hotel is a major we... Read more
