I travel to Dun Laoghaire fairly frequently, but this was the first time I have stayed at the Haddington. Looks good from the outside. Well located with great views over Dublin Bay from the front. The dining/breakfast room as some seats in the large picture windows which are elevated and the view superb. The hotel is old and being refurbished. There is a way to go. The room was a Standard (rather than a basic) twin. It cost more so I guess it is better. The room was fine, heating by radiator but... Read more

Well not stayed in a few years and have witness the change from the Kingston to Haddington and have to say impressed. Love the reception area and welcoming space, check in was easy. Booked a sea view room and looked fresh and had a few nice touches. Might seem silly but loved the fact the Nespresso machine had water in ready to use and a jar of Tunnocks tea cakes! Let's be honest after a hard days work and travel to just select the coffee flavour and enjoy a treat while taking in the view is i... Read more

Excellent stay overnight . Delicious dinner in Italian Restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, berries and perfectly poached eggs. Bed was so comfortable. Would definitely return. Have stayed in 4 star hotels that didn't have such a high standard.

I recently, along with my siblings arranged an evening, a surprise party for my father in The Haddington. My sister had booked a lovely room, exactly what we needed, ground floor with a front view over Dun Laoghaire bay and arranged some hor dourves, prosecco and discussed how best to arrange the room with their managers. The guests arrived and were greeted by staff as they arrived. The room was cosy and nobody was left waiting as the staff were very attentive to their needs, coats, drinks et... Read more

We booked the Haddington mainly because of its location, near the Dart & lovely part of Dublin. We are a family of 5 so two of us were in one room and the other 3 were in another. The hotel location is fantastic. The views of the harbor and sea are beautiful and I will definitely come back in the summer as the out door area looked lovely. The lobby was nice and it was a very quick check in. In the elevator up to our room was a notice that the hotel is in the process of being upgraded so we were... Read more

We booked two deluxe rooms here, a double and a twin, and were given nice spacious rooms at the front of the hotel with great views across the pier to Howth Head. The double was a refurbished room, and the twin in the older theme, which actually had a more cosy feel than the renovated room. However, our double was right above the restaurant and bar, which was quite noisy - we were woken at 7am both mornings of our stay when the restaurant turned on the music rather loud. Our room was well equipp... Read more

We stayed in The Haddington for one night recently in a refurbished room and were so impressed! The refurbishment is being really well planned, and although not yet complete there was no interference in our stay. Our room was simply perfect. The new decor was so lovely and the room amenities were excellent (wifi, nespresso machine, mini fridge, rain shower, etc). The bed was really comfy and the view across the bay and overlooking the pier was breathtaking. We both felt that it wasn't like stayi... Read more

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 15 years and since it had been taken over 5 years ago it has gone from strength to strength. Wonderful location, fantastic value for money, the restaurant is fab great food. The staff are extremely helpful, particularly Sinead at reception who is very knowledgable and could not be more helpful. I recommend this hotel as an ideal base for sightseeing Dublin and the surrounding area.

I stayed at this hotel recently for work. To be brutally honest, it was a last resort as I'd stayed here previously when it was called another name, and vowed that I would not return. Well how things have changed. I got a great room that was recently renovated. New carpets, furniture, etc. It even had a nespresso machine (and lots of capsules!!), new TV.... I even liked the detail on the room information leaflets, etc, and the restaurant menu. Everything aligned perfectly. It's the small things.... Read more

Stayed here recently to attend a family function. Our room was very comfortable and bathroom very clean with good shower. Nespresso machine in bedroom was a nice touch. Only downside was that we missed out on the sea views which guests in front rooms enjoyed! Breakfast good but would prefer if tea/coffee and toast were served to the table...having to help oneself meant that breakfast was lukewarm by the time we got back to the table. View from dining area is great. The hotel is a work in progr... Read more
