This is a great little boutique hotel. It's well located just behind the Odeon which is a great finishing pub. It's about a 15 minute walk from Grafton and all the great shopping and night life there. The room was great. Ours had a great sky light that really controlled the light and temperature in the room. The breakfast was great and had a good variety. The only slight negative would be that the coffee was ok, not great but the Art of Coffee and Starbucks are a 2 minute walk. The staff was... Read more

we spent 1 night at the Generator Hostel before going to Galway, and 1 night at the Kilronan House. Both are very different, I have to say that my stay in the Kilronan House was my favourite. We were welcomed with a delicious Irish Coffee. The owner (or manager) is a young lady very competent and super nice. The assigned us a very big room, Soo beautiful, plenty of antiques, you could feel the history of the family. It was spotless and we slept very well. The breakfast is served in the main hous... Our group of 6 took 3 rooms for 2 nights. The facilities were generally very nice, though one of our group had a room in the basement on the hallway between the kitchen and the breakfast room, which was very noisy in the morning. Another room had a fair amount of noise from the street, though the room we had was quiet. The staff are great, and very helpful with suggestions for meals. The breakfast were good and very complete (especially with salmon and boiled eggs) But we didn't remark when we booked, that there were no toilets in the room. So all the nights long, a real problem to eliminate the thousands of Guinesses drunk ! Next time we'll choose this house again but with independant toilets. We loved our stay at the Kilronan House! It was a beautiful guesthouse within walking distance from the main areas of Dublin. It had nice sized rooms for being two old homes and had a very comfortable bed! The only thing would be to ask for an extra blanket if you are a blanket hog like me, my husband and I took turns stealing it each night because it as a small blanket. Only drawback was no air conditioning, had to leave window open, so bring earplugs( not a noisy area but cars do drive by )Was within walking distance to St. stephen's park and Grafton st., the Archeology museum.... As a single traveller you pretty much expect the smallest room available. The room I had was SMALL. But it made me giggle every time I walked in. There was a sitting room, or rather a chair in an alcove, I had to crawl over my bed to get to it, but it was there if I wanted it. The single bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean (and also tiny). For the two nights I stayed it suited me just fine. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were wonderful.

Stayed here for 3 nights after arrival to Dublin in April and 3 nights prior to departure in May. Our rooms were on top floors of both buildings, in the rear. Very quiet (except for others in the hallways late at night), adequate cleanliness and comfort, nice breakfast, walkable to 80% of the major sights in Dublin. If you stay here, note that there are some nice restaurants with fewer tourists about 3 blocks west of here on Richmond St. As noted by others, very reasonable luggage roll from/to A... Read more

Came to Dublin to visit our daughter and we stayed 8 days. Selected B&B as best in the area. Room was bright and clean, and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Full breakfast. We stayed here in 1999 and loved it. It changed hands, and grew, and the staff changed...but the hospitality was as good as before. I do have to say that the "full Irish" breakfast was less greasy than I remember it, but just as good.We stayed in the annex next door and got a lovely room at lower price. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. Parking is limited and is done by the staff as the space is narrow. Room was clean and well serviced. There was nothing that was particularly great or terrible about our stay. The hotel was located a distance from shopping and pubs in Dublin, so it was a bit of a walk to find places to eat. This was made more difficult as parking was challenging; they have an off-street parking that, while great that we didn't have to pay for parking, was not convenient as the staff needed to move other cars in order for us to access our car. Staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, like a country B&B. The room was fairly small and cramped, and old in its furnishings. This is an authentic place for rest and breakfast. The staff are anxious to be of assistance. Some rooms are bigger than others and more newly renovated than others. Although old world touches are wonderful, especially in the dining and living areas, it is a bit tired in other areas with mold on the ceilings and rust on some bathroom accoutrements. Just back from another stay at Kilronan House. This is a great Guesthouse in a perfect location for seeing Dublin. St Stephens Green and Grafton Street are about a 10 minute walk away. Kilronan provide free car parking. We arrived early and they held our bags until we could access our room and we were also offered complimentary coffee before we headed off into Dublin. Superb breakfast with good selection including fruit salad and omelettes. Newspapers available over breakfast. We stayed in a tr... Read more

Kilronan House is a great place to stay in Dublin just south of St. Stephen's Green. My was nice but was a little tight. The staff was friendly and remembered my name for my whole stay. I enjoyed the breakfast offering. It was a little bit of a walk to town or the nearest bus stop, but once the luas expansion is finished that won't be an issue.

The people who work here are wonderful. We arrived from the U.S. at 9am, much before check in time. They offered us a wonderful breakfast, gave us a place to relax while they got the room ready. We didn't have solid plans while in Ireland - we ended up staying here 6 nights! Great location, city buses, airport bus, restaurants all right there. Very clean, decent rooms. After each day of touring around, we'd come back to Irish Coffee. AWESOME food and breakfast was outstanding. Fabulous ... Read more
