We stayed here from 8-12 May 2016 the hotel is lovely room small but more than big enough, facility in the room to make tea and coffee, daily maid service ( which we weren't expecting ) so that was excellent, unable to get wifi in our room. Reception staff very friendly, the only thing that spoiler our stay was on the 3rd morning we sat for 25mins waiting for a waitress to come to our table, other people were having to clear tables so they could sit down, eventually I asked a waitress for some t... Just returned from a 3 night stay with friends at the St George. Hotel would benefit from refurbishment, but the location and reception staff were brilliant, which helped to make for a fabulous few days in the vibrant city. Hotel in walking distance from centre of the city, but used the red tour bus to see all attractions. Room was clean and adequate and breakfast was fine although a little more choice would have been appreciated. Thanks again to reception staff.

We had a three night stay in the St George in May. The rooms were fine. The breakfasts were very good with continental style and full Irish - thoroughly enjoyed it. Location is ideal with just a five minute walk to the bars, restaurants and shops. There is no bar in the Hotel but with the bars just outside we would not have used it anyway. We just threw our bags into the room and off we went. This really is a bed and breakfast hotel. Reception staff were great and always pointed us in the right ... Read more

We had a one week stay at this hotel in October 2015. If you are looking for high end, large room hotels full of extras this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean, conveniently located hotel with fantastic staff this is the place for you. We were able to walk everywhere in Dublin we needed to go from this location. The staff gave us great tips daily on directions, things to see and places to eat. The pub in the basement was a great finish to our daily excursions with liv... Read more

I stayed there for 5 nights. The room was small but spotless, had a small tv and comfortable beds. The staff were outstanding, very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good, full Irish most mornings unless you had to leave before they started serving them, and then they would schedule a continental breakfast for you. Only a couple of drawbacks. The shower in my room at least was very small, and the 6th floor cannot be accessed by elevator, but by a narrow staircase. I had no trouble ... Read more

We stayed here for one night, room 503. It was at the front of the hotel and the sun was shining right in the room. There is no AC so the room was HOT. We opened the window and closed the blinds in the hopes it would cool down but it didn't really until about 4am. Since the window was open it was also really loud. You could hear people yelling, singing and cars all night. I think in the winter it would be fine but if you're going in the summer just keep that in mind!

International travellers be aware there's no wifi in the rooms, and poor wifi in reception - despite what the website says. In this day and age, it's quite surprising and irritating. The room and bathroom need a thorough clean - particularly the bathroom which had a mouldy, damp smell to it. It definitely need a decent - and regular - spray with exit mould! We noted room service sprayed some air freshener which helped for maybe an hour. Unpleasant. Also, non-smokers and appreciators of clean... Read more

We stayed 4 nights. We checked in and had to pay up front! First time I've ever done that in an advanced country before. We realised why on our third night. The walls were paper thin. Neighbours moved in next door and we/they could hear everything. We could even hear them on the toilet!!

This is a nice hotel, located in a very busy area of Dublin. That's great, if you are the type of person that likes to leave your hotel and walk to various pubs and shops. It is easy to get a taxi in this area for anything that is a little further away. That said, if you are trying to load and unload upon arrival or departure, it's not very easy. Pros: *Staff was friendly *The decor is old and outdated, but it adds a bit of charm to the place *We only ate breakfast in the restaurant and we wer... Read more

We stayed at Hotel St. George 2 nights upon arrival in Dublin for a week long stay. The remainder of our trip was booked at Bed and Breakfasts around Ireland. The hotel is located close to the bus line although due to street construction it was a little difficult to find the hotel.. The room was small but very nice and the staff were great. This hotel has some decent features but failed in making us feel secure in a few key ways. Our room door was left open by the cleaning staff, and the hotel's key system left a lot to be desired. There were other small problems as well. As a result, I would not stay here again and I would recommend that future travelers find an alternate hotel. Beginning with the location, this hotel is situated at the northern end of O'Connell Street in Parnell Square. This area is convenient for accessing man... Read more

The cabbie argued with me immediately when I said I wanted to go to this hotel from the train station "It doesn't exist". He finally agreed but told me it is not a hotel, it's a guesthouse. Ok. Well, it says Hotel St. George. The location is excellent at the top of Connolley. It's a lovely place. But then there is the matter of getting to the room. I specifically booked a place with a lift because I had large, heavy luggage. They do have one and it was working, but it is impossible to get to... Read more

We found the staff at Hotel St. George to be very accommodating during our stay. The breakfast was excellent and provided a great start to our day. The location at the top of O'Connell Street provided easy access to most locations. We took the AirLink 747 bus from the airport and we had about a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on reception. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, nice large shower. Breakfast was ok, not much space we had to wait the first morning 30 minutes after we came down. Not much choice breakfast food wise. Great location not far to walk to get to the main areas. In a quiet area just on the outskirts.

Stayed here for one night at the end of our trip. Luckily we didn't spend too much time in the room. We were on the 4th floor and the room was incredibly small, barely big enough to walk around the bed. Don't expect to get WiFi if you're on the higher floors, the signal is too weak and you have to go down to the lobby to use it. The hotel is right up from O'Connell St. which gives close walking distance to pubs and shops, and about a 5 minute walk from the nearest Airlink stop.

The hotel is located on Connely street, which is where a lot of tours start, so it's very convenient as a base. Temple Bar is 15 min walk. The room was spacious enough and clean. Bathroom had enough space too. I was expecting something time based on all the reviews. Staff was THE BEST. I've met quite a few of them, and all were very courteous, professional, and helpful. We really liked the hotel; the staff were accommodating, the rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was tasty. Our only complaint was that that room was quite hot and that there was no hot water the second day of our stay; we were told that it was due to a problem with the boiler on both counts. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Dublin, as it was located very near the city center and we were able to walk just about everywhere. The location of this hotel was great...an easy walk to the heart of Dublin and transportation to other parts of the city. The room, however, was dated and needed updating. There is no air conditioning, and the windows only opened a couple inches with no cross-ventilation, so even though the weather was cool, the room was always hot. Location is pretty ok, not too far away to walk to the center of Dublin (although a 45' walk to get to the Guinness Storehouse). Bus stop in front of the hotel. Not a hotel for a 'room with a view', we looked out to an office (and they could look into our room - privacy?). Pretty noisy. Quality of breakfast was ok but compared to what we got on our B&B's during the rest of our stay, the B&B's were a lot better! Clean? If you are used to 3-4 star hotels, DO NOT stay at this hotel. This is more of a very tired rooming house than a hotel. Although the room was clean, one of the drapes was coming off the track, the carpet was old and pulling away from the wall. The firnuture was not in good shape and the old velvet chair my room looked like it was a Petri dish. The sheets were so rough that I needed to put a t-shirt over the pillow to make it non-chafing. I'm afraid like most of Dublin at this tie of year this is well overpriced for what you get. We found our room very small and also the bathroom was small, sparsely furnished with one closet, you certainly would not want to spend more that a couple of night s here, you would have nowhere to unpack everything. If you have a car parking is a bit of an ordeal, you have to find the car park which is a few blocks away and this is around 10 euros per day, not sure if they have in and out privileges our... This was my first trip to Ireland, and the first hotel we stayed at while we were there, so I don't have anything else within the city to compare it to. The location was nice, lots to do within walking distance. The bed was comfortable. The room seemed a little small, and there were no outlets in the bathroom. Room was clean and warm with comfortable bed but the bathroom was tiny. There was little space between the washbasin and shower cubicle. You need to be flexible to squeeze between the two, It would be advisable to check the size of the bathroom when booking! The hotel is well positioned close to the main shopping street and ideal for buses to tour the city. Wi-Fi was next to useless. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is well positioned within easy walking distance to Dublin city centre. The open topped tour buses stop very close to the hotel. The hotel has poor facilities, in that the bar was closed while we were there, and the breakfast room is far to small for the number of guests.
