The smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, but the more time I spent here, the more it grew on me. I could have stayed out by the airport in a generic box, as I was only in town for one night before flying to Montreal. This place is an old school Irish hotel, full of quirks and comfort in equal measure. Just a few minutes walk from O'Connell Street, the Gate Theater, Parnell ' s pub. Don't be put off by the lack of curb appeal or what some might feel is a sketchy street. After all, you are ... Read more

There is plenty of Old-World charm and lots of friendly, welcoming faces at the Dergvale. The staff were a joy, in fact: enjoying a chat and happily giving advice about the city. At one point we asked if we could use their bar area to do some work and they were extremely accommodating: cranking up the heating for us and bringing us free tea and biscuits. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just near the north end of O'Connell Street and is set amongst a street of lovely old Georgian building... Read more

5 of us stayed at Dergvale. We really liked it. They have rooms with one small bed, three small beds, one big bed( 2 people can sleep), one bug and one small bed ( 3 people can sleep). The rooms are clean and so are the bathrooms. My bed sheets smelled very clean. All rooms have TV and a hair drier. At 8 am they start serving breakfast: eggs, bacon, bread, cereals, muesli and orange juice. It is not a buffet. You will have to order what you want. The In keepers are very friendly and nice. Just back to Edinburgh having just had a city mini break to Dublin staying in the Dergvale Hotel. We found this hotel to be good for this type of break as it's located very close to the city centre and excellent for getting the local public transport system, city tour busses and if required the airport link bus when travelling home. The hotel appears to have been recently redecorated to a decent level and we found it to be very clean. The two female members of staff that we had the pleasure of m... Read more

Olga and Helen will provide you with a friendly welcome, and a nothing is too much trouble attitude the moment you walk into this lovely hotel. The room was comfy and newly decorated, and ideal for relaxing when having spent all day walking about the sites of Dublin - about 15 minute walk to Temple Bar area and even closer to all the hustle and bustle of O' Connell Street !! The breakfast gets your day off to a great start, and you were always asked if you wanted tea/coffee when you returned to ... Read more

This small family-run B&B is a short walk from the main sights in Dublin City Center. The staff could not be more helpful, from organizing take-out food which we ate in the lounge, making suggestions, providing a sandwich to go for an early check-out. They are so nice. The room was spotless with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. A proper Irish breakfast is served to you with really excellent scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, ham, cereal or porridge. Wi-Fi in the nice lobby is super fast.... Read more

A female friend and I stayed at the Dergvale for one night when attending last month‚??s Bruce Springsteen concert in Dublin. We chose this B&B based on it being in walking distance to Croke Park and the great TA reviews. It is fair to say that given that the hotel is graded as a two-star it more than met ‚?? and surpassed ‚?? our expectations. The only thing that was disappointing in this context was the ¬£190/night price-tag (presumably because of the concert) which, frankly, felt like a rip-... Read more

Pleasant, clean and relatively quiet for central Dublin. Nice building of Georgian design with no lift, so travel light. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast is okay and served up quickly. Room was comfortable enough for a decent nights sleep.

It's always the people that you meet that makes your holiday memorable. The staff at this hotel were most welcoming and gave good ideas about getting around Dublin. We were in room 21. Could sleep 3. everything was very clean ,lots of hot water. The breakfast in the morning is a really good value. We took a cab to the airport arranged the night before cost 25 euros with a tip included. Took about 15 minutes to get to the airport.I was glad I had stayed in the city instead of an airport hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel from Friday to Sunday and chose the place because of it¬īs reasonable prices (compared to other places in Dublin) and the proximity to the city centre (15 minutes walking). Overall it was okay. Tidy and clean but extremely thin walls. We could hear almost every word of the people next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can recommend the hotel for a short trip to the city.

if you want average hotel with out frills you would be ok, waited on breakfast and do not ask for poached eggs/ blankets rather than duvet/ we had no phone so had to keep going down to ask for tea/coffee. as these are not in your room. It is a place you only go to once Clean

overall this was a great experience, there are no lifts but that wasn't an issue for us, and if you need help with your luggage they are more than happy to accommodate. We were on the top floor but enjoyed the exercise. Breakfast each morning was hearty and great to start your travel day. An added bonus, one day we were going out on an early morning tour, asked where the location was that we need to arrive at and not only were we give our directions, but they offered to make us sandwiches for... This was a fabulous little gem off the beaten path but only two blocks from Connolly Street and only four blocks from the main Hop On Hop Off Green Bus stop and office. The rooms were very well cared for and the made-to-order breakfast made for a great start to each day. The hotel is owned and managed by Miss Nancy who takes great care of this hotel. The have rooms of all sizes so make sure to reserve a room right for the number of family members staying with you. The hotel doesn't look like... Read more

8 of us arrived here on the 28th July for 3 nights. A 5 minute walk from the bus stop. And 10 -15 from Henry street. 20 from temple bar. At first you think it's a wee bit old fashioned ,but who cares if was spotless, had very helpful staff. Breakfast was loved by everyone, especially the tea ( 2 pots used every morning, what is the make of it ?. A lovely bar, wi fi, just an all round lovely place. The cons are try and book a lower level room, (but you do get used to the climb). Keep window close... Read more

You get what you pay for and this hotel is adequate for a few nights stay within walking distance of the Dublin Post Office. Parking is a problem as the wardens patrol and wheel clamp anyone overstaying their welcome. As we had a luggage pod on the roof of our car it would not get into any of the local car parks due to height restrictions. Eventually we found that the car park at the main station was the only place that we could get our car into. This was a 40 minute walk away. The hotel was... Read more

The Dergvale is a nice hotel in a fairly convenient location for visiting Dublin. The hotel is remarkably clean. The breakfasts are good. The rooms are pretty small. The bathrooms have modern fixtures. The hotel's best feature is its staff who are quite helpful and friendly. Our only real problem we experienced was the poor Wi-Fi, which for us worked maybe 10 per cent of the time.

This is a good place to stay while in Dublin in a quiet neighborhood about a 15-20 minute walk to the main attractions. There is only wifi in the lobby, not in the rooms. Breakfast was nice. Have to carry luggage up stairs.

Quiet, immaculately clean & a short walk to the city centre, this is a lovely hotel. The staff were so friendly & accommodating ( storing our luggage on our last day, so we could enjoy further sightseeing). 24hr reception service. Tucked away on an elegant street, my room was quiet & relaxing. Cleaned daily with fresh towels ( but not bed-linen) this was great value for money.

A warm welcome and plenty of helpful advice for our stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the city though buses also run nearby. Our room was up a short staircase and was compact but comfortable. Our only gripe was the minimal provision of bathroom products: small sachets of shower gel, no shampoo, no hairdryer. Breakfasts were served from a small menu but very well prepared. There was a comfortable bar area. A good value option.

Not much has changed here decor wise since the 70s, and what a good thing that is too. The downstairs bar is my favourite part, or bring your pint to the lobby and read the paper. Very friendly staff and a great alternative to staying at a chain hotel.

My partner and I stayed at the Dergvale Hotel for 4 nights in early September 2016. I‚??ve been pretty lucky when it comes to finding hotels we are usually pleased with and the Dergvale was no exception. Having done a fair amount of research to find suitable budget friendly and well-located accommodations with breakfast, I‚??d say that what I‚??d read about this hotel was fair and accurate. It is clean, well maintained and staffed by a very accommodating team who went out of their way to make o... Read more

This is a good budget hotel. My room was very narrow - I could stand in the middle of the room and simultaneously touch the opposite walls by just stretching out my arms (see the picture) but it is clean and there is plenty of hot water, plus towels and basic toiletries. The en suite is barely wider than the loo! The breakfast is good and the staff friendly. 10 minutes walk from Croke Park. Good value. I paid 65 Euro per night B&B, which is cheap by Dublin standards.

My husband, 25 yo son, and I stayed here for two nights last week. Nancy was very helpful with directions and suggestions. It is conveniently located a few blocks off O'Connell St and about 15 minutes from Connolly rail station. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The bathroom was updated and the room was very comfortable. Wifi was very spotty, but that may have been because we were on the top floor. Would recommend this place. No elevator.

Very nice accomodation. The management was great. They served an excellent breakfast I especially appreciated the great price of the breakfast. My stay was quiet and the property was very close to everything. The only thing I would have liked to have been made aware of was the room heat schedule. The central heat source did not come on til 6 or 7 in the evening an afternoon nap was often a bit chilling, but I was given a space heater but not one to want it on while I slept.

It's a good location. Quiet, but walkable to most places or easy to catch a bus. Room was clean. Staff is hard working. Breakfast is good. We were on one of the upper floors without an elevator, which was a bit of a climb but didn't impact our stay much. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff were very kind and helpful, the hotel was older but clean, not too far off O'Connell St. which will get you where you want to go in Dublin. Breakfast was very good, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, orange juice, tea, coffee, croissants. The wifi caused me trouble but the cable TV had nice selections. I'd hoped it were a little more quaint and a little less basic. If I were returning to Dublin, I'd shop around.
