Whilst not in the city centre, it is worth staying here for the value for money and relative comfort and calmness offered by its location. The rooms are well appointed and the staff friendly and professional. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel for the city centre and also close to the beach. We also eat in the hotel restaurant which is excellent. Recommended.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after impeccably, the check in was smoother than any I've experienced and after getting settled we went to get a meal which was fantastic. The staff at reception couldn't have been more helpful showing us how to get into Dublin even drawing maps for us the next day. The Saturday night was great with plenty of variety and great service in the bar and we were able to get our meal served out in the main area as the restaurant was full up. Breakfasts both da... My family stayed at the Clontarf Castle hotel for two nights at the end of a week visit to Ireland. Our "family" room was a well appointed and decorated two double bed room with a quirky fun layout which is to be expected in a castle retrofitted as a hotel. Check in was quick and the concierge I spok... Read more

I booked the Tower Room for family gathering for brother's 60th birthday. 17 of us around a large oval table. Staff couldn't have been nicer - food was absolutely delicious and very well presented. Special treatment of the birthday boy and they accommodated all my little (and big) requests with ease. Excellent venue.

How often can you say that you stayed in an old castle? Granted, it's been significantly upgraded, but the history and charm of this hotel is awesome. The customer service by Robert and by the others at the front desk went above and beyond. We were a party of 6 and had 3 rooms. Each room was perfectly suited. The beds were comfortable and don't be fooled by the "full" size designation...they are actually closer to "king" size if you're from the US. It is located in a quieter part of Dublin, but ...
