Epic hotel, lots of history and character but also modern and luxurious. Staff friendly, food lovely, touches like open fires and decor add to the experience. Would definitely stay again. Not much to do locally, but the castle is a great place to stay.

Stayed in an Exec Double. I normally love 'rooms with a view' which Clontarf does not provide but boy does Contarf make up for this. Loved my stay, room spacious, modern but strangely comforting -I would suggest the BEST breakfast in Dublin.

The hotel is beautiful, from coming up the drive to walking into the lobby. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions about getting around and the hotel itself. We had dinner at the restaurant, and it was great! Portions were large, and everything was perfect. Next time, I will definitely stay more than one night!

The hotel was beautiful and the reception staff very helpful. Although the restaurant at the hotel took long in providing service, the food was world class. I would recommend the the pasta and pork dishes. Keep up the good work.

To say that this castle hotel is beautiful is an understatement. In 2009, it was voted the most beautifully decorated hotel in Europe. The staff was wonderful, the decor was tasteful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed here for our last night in Ireland, and would come back a million more times. We chose not to stay here the whole time because it is about 20 minutes away from Dublin city, but this place is incredible.

Went for the "Fusion tea" in Clontarf Castle Hotel on Saturday afternoon with 2 friends, which was an absolutely fabulous experience. Started off with a glass of prosecco and tea selection where Manager Cormac introduced the teas explaining the origins and benefits of each which was very interesting. We all selected our favourite, which then was served in elegant glass pots by very kind Elaine. Then the variety of sandwiches were served. The selection with the finest details was presented by Man... Read more

This hotel is nether modern, nor old&charming. The modern elements of the decoration spoil the castle charm. The WiFi broke down on me several times, was not very fast and required me to login again the next morning (without any warning or info). They should really have a talk with their IT. Food in the restaurant is expensive and not tasting according to the price level. Wine selection is poor and has only wines that contain sulfides. Buffet breakfast is poor, missing essential fresh&healthy st... Read more

I visited Clontarf castle a few weeks ago with two friends for the afternoon tea. It was amazing, everything from the service to the food and tea and the setting was beyond expectations. The service from John, Michelle and Kristina was brilliant. They were so friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of information about the different teas and the food that was served. Will definitely be back!
