The hotel is nice, the beds are acceptable and the food is OK, plus the leisure centre is free to guests, which includes a gym, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna; however, if you want to see what is interesting near the hotel, there is nothing within walking distance worth visiting.

I love this place. I took my girlfriend to Ireland, and hoped to find a nice romantic place to propose to her. I like the character of the Hotel itself so much that I did it in the Restaurant. She said yes, and the Staff were so happy for us. They even left a congratulation note in our room for us. It was as if we'd become part of a big family there. Lovely place, with lovely staff. Top food, and service in all departments. WILL BE GOING AGAIN !!!!

This hotel is ideal for exploring Dublin and all it has to offer. We had a large spotlessly clean room on the 2nd floor with two king size beds (for just the two of us) and all the other trappings of a good Hotel. It was nice to be able to see views from the front and side from two different windows. There were plentiful parking bays. The staff were very polite and helpful and the restaurant food excellent and not overly priced. The first evening, having spent a great day in the City, I had a ki... Read more

I booked the hotel through Expedia and paid by Paypal, for my son, his partner and granddaughter who was going for a checkup following heart surgery at Crumlin Children's Hospital nearby to save them an early morning journey. On arrival they were told they needed the card it was booked with, which they didn't have and couldn't get as I, (and they) live a hundred miles away. They were then asked for £100 which they hadn't got either. After speaking with the manager the receptionist eventually... Read more

We stayed here for a short three night holiday while touring the Dublin area. Pros: spacious room with plenty of room for our family of three. Comfortable and clean bedding. Use of next door leisure center is a nice perk. Pool was fun for our five year old. Free parking and close to major roads and restaurants. Cons: The shower pressure was odd and would come and go. Temperature good, but pressure unreliable. There is live music in the bar on Saturday and Sunday nights, which seems n... Read more

Just a short tram ride from Dublin city centre this hotel is clean, comfortable and charming.our room was a good size and was equipped with tea/coffee making facility's. The restaurant serves a selection of food, generous portions and reasonable prices, the waitering staff were efficent and friendly.Breakfast is served until ten and there is a wide choice.my one criticism would be that the reception staff could be a bit more welcoming/friendly.

I paid £112 for two nights room only and I was generally satisfied. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from the Luas stop 'Kylemore' which will have you in central Dublin in about 25 mins. The room was a twin, basic and an okay size with a good size bathroom. There was a TV with all the Irish channels plus some music channels and BBC Northern Ireland and Channel 4 as well others which seemed to have the same content as ITV in the UK. The signal wasn't great and you might have to flick around the... Read more

A hotel which exceeded both mine and my girlfriend's expectations. Very close to Kylemore Luas stop and you're then in Dublin city centre within 20 minutes. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We are and drank in the bar and found it very fairly priced. The Guinness was superb and was the best pint I had outside of the storehouse itself. We stayed here on the 8th of July. We arrived extremely early, and luck for us we were allowed to check in when we arrived. The reception ladies were extremely nice and accommodating. The majority of staff at this hotel did everything in their power to make the our trip as pleasurable as possible however it was clear from the moment we tried checking in and had the receptionist stop and answer the phone numerous times due to being the only member of staff on the front desk at a full hotel that they were chronically short staffed. Great location if you don't want to stay in the centre of Dublin. Easy access to the tram. Room was basic but clean & tidy. Bar staff/waiting staff were very friendly , reception team not so much. It's not in Dublin city. Don't be fooled. It's a 20 minute tram into the city and from the airport takes an hour getting a bus to Hueston and then a tram on the red line to kylemore where the hotel is only 4 minutes walk from. Hotel is nothing special, beds are better at ibis and rooms kinda small. Wifi all around is okay. Breakfast is soooo not worth the money the buffet has hardly any choice and eggs are extremely basic and bland. Also it calls itself a spa hotel when the spa isn't attached... Read more

My family, brothers and sisters etc meet up every month for a catch up. We all live in different parts of Dublin do the Sheldon is central for us blots of parking. Plenty of seating in the bar area. The staff are amazing and know us all now the food is amazing and they have a daily special menu too. Definitely recommend this for meetings for a nice meal. Cup of coffee or business doesn't matter. Well run and so clean too

The room is very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the convenience of the nearby light rail stop (walk towards the McDonalds once to leave the stop). There are also bus stops. However, in the fall of 2016, there are more planned bus strikes. The hotel is a good value. It is away from the city center, in a quiet area.

This is a 20-30min tram ride from the city centre and situated on a business park ideal for meetings and conferences I'd suggest. We stayed for two nights and the staff, from the ladies behind reception to the barman and restaurant staff, were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed in room 202. The room was clean and of average size with an en suite bathroom, however there was only a bath and no shower or even a shower attachment on the taps to allow for hair washing whi... Read more

Myself and my partner have started exploring the big cities in and around the UK before venturing further. I am very pleased to say Dublin set the bar pretty high. The hotel was very clean, the staff very polite and helpful. Yes the décor is dated but what would you expect from a Best Western, I would opt to stay at one every time. The bar staff were very accommodating as me and my partner like different drinks, they started to mix up their owns concoctions. We took the tram into the city as it... Read more

The hotel was about 5 mins walk from the Red Luas line (Tram). It takes about 15mins to get to the main city centre. There are various attractions along the luas line, if you are staying for a few days worth buying the tourist leap pass this is different to the Freedom pass which is first offered to you at the Dublin airport. The Leap pass gives you unlimited travel on the buses and luas (includes airport link buses). The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, we took the offer the b... Read more

We chose this hotel because we have never been let down by a Best Western hotel. The staff were helpful and welcoming.Nothing was too much trouble. The reception was very grand alas the decor in the hallways and rooms didn't portray the same splendour. Paint was patched up and our room (221) was rather small.we had some issues in our room but a handyman came immediately to rectify but this could have been avoided by a simple pre-visitor check. Just got back from a weekend away in Dublin with my boyfriend for our birthdays. We booked this hotel as we have previously stayed at best westerns and enjoyed our stays! Absolutely stunning hotel. We had a twin room, it was small but plenty big enough. The ONLY criticism is the bath/shower. As it had a fixed shower screen it was quite hard to turn bath taps on could only just reach plus the grouting in there was a bit mouldy but didn't really bother us as the lady on reception Elaine, was a diamond. So so helpful. It was our first time in Dublin and she helped us out so much. We had a sharing platter for two for dinner one night and it was massive! Good value f... Read more

Basic hotel with nice staff, not the best area but close to a tram line that cost 9euro for 2 of us return to Dublin centre. We'd recommend eating outside of the hotel, we had 1 dinner each which weren't great, the cocktails were weak and tasteless, breakfast was better but not worth 10euro each when you can get better in the city.

If you buy the green bus hop on & off pass you can use Airlink Bus 747 and change at College Green in Dublin City centre for bus 13 to Kylemore Rd. We stayed here on our trip to Dublin, 6 of us in total. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was way too hot however, and friends staying with us who were on their own in a double room had more space than we did to share! The bar could use some extra staff as there was a long wait for drinks and it was pretty busy. Transport to the town centre was just a few minutes walk away by tram, but is quite a way from the main City.
