We had a three-night weekend trip to Dublin and chose this hotel mainly based on its location and not-too-high price. (The overall price level of accommodation in Dublin seems rather high.) And the experience was OK. The double room was large enough, comfortable and tidy, if not equipped with the latest innovations in plumbing and heating industry. We asked for a quiet room, and also got one - the window was towards the inside, so no views but also no noise. Street side would probably have been ... Read more

A great middle class hotel in a great location, only a few minutes walk away from the Temple Bar area. Across the road from the hotel was the bus/train station and also a taxi station. I had a room in the Georgian wing which was excellent - a rooftop spacious room with rooftoop windows and large bathroom. Rooms and hotel were clean and well maintained, staff friendly and helpful. A restaurant and pub were also on the premises. Only downside was the looooong walk to the room, no elevator was avai... Read more

I have stayed here a number of times wile my partner does business, its a great location in Dublin for everything. Last time we stayed I thought the hotel was a little run down, but seems to have had a make over and some new faces since our last trip, breakfast is always good and we like the bar for food as a bit more life there, The staff are really nice and helpful too but in our 4 days I only saw one lady on reception all gents this to me gives the impression of not such a safe area so be car... The positives: very central location, on the 747 bus link route from the airport, 20 minutes walk into town, round the corner from the hop on/off sightseeing bus, 20 minutes from Croke Park, fabulous staff, good breakfast and bar food. The negatives: very dated and tired looking rooms which are noisy at the front due to a bus station. Asked for a room at the back: a vent just outside, incredibly hot, windows only open slightly, had to ask for a fan. Paid 380 Pounds for 2 nights/twin room due to... Read more

My friend and I booked for 2 nights on our first visit to Dublin. On arrival, our door lock was not working and after almost 30 minutes of standing waiting outside our room, we were eventually offered a different room. We went to the next room to find it was not clean. There were small hairs on the shower floor with lots of hair poking out the plug. There was also no toilet paper which suggests the room hadn't been prepared properly. After alerting a member of staff that the room we had been... Read more

Service always good. Nice bar with nice bar staff, again service always good. There are a few bad reviews on here about rude staff but we never encountered them. Although the room was very clean, the price for the room was far too high for the quality of the room. The room directly over our heads we were able to hear all night - it sounded as if there was absolutely no insulation between us and the floor creaked badly. It was virtually impossible to sleep at all. This hotel would do in a pinch, but I would suggest looking elsewhere first for better accomodation at the same or lower price.

The Beresford Hotel does not look very special from outside. However, we got a great room overlooking the roofs of the neighborhood. Very quiet and lots of light. Bed was fine. So was the bathroom. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Could not have been more helpful. Breakfast is not included, but available for a reasonable price. We chose the hotel for its location, close to train station but also easy to get into the heart of Dublin. The double room we had (#101) was a good size , comfortable and with a large bathroom ,with a separate bath and shower. However, the room also has , across the road, a raised train line running past and a pub beneath. Where to start.... Had to book late and ended up paying a lot of money for a tiny room, with two short single beds (I couldn't fit in the bed). My room was above the beer garden (room 121, avoid at all costs, very loud, it sounded like there was an exorcism going on late at night). Hotel is also near a train line so the room vibrates every few minutes. To top it off, the walls and ceilings must only be about 5 millimetres thick. We stayed for three nights The place is clean, centrally located right next to the train station which in most towns is a bad thing but in Dublin it is a good thing. There is also a large police station 100 feet from the front door. All good marks! However, the rooms are very out of date and are in need of serious work. Stayed here, on all ireland final weekend, staff were friendly, rooms were clean, breakfast was good as we needed for the match, It is very central to shops pubs, 15 mins walk to croke park, as i was going to the match. connolly station and busaras and luas near you no need for a car in dublin. The only thing but it cant be helped is the traffic outside you in the middle of the city what do you expect.Lovely hotel I would recommend to stay here again as its very central and economic.

The hotel has a good location as it is only 10 mins walk from the centre and also next to an airport bus stop. Rooms were very average and although they had all the facilities the rooms and hotel overall had a souless feel. Staff were not particularly friendly although they did respond quickly to request for more milk, airport bus location, left luggage. One young woman was friendly and helpful. Fortunately we were out all day as I did not look forward to spending much time in the room. It was ... Read more

The location seems good. But with so many choices in Dublin I would not stay here. Our room window faced the train tracks which were continuous and faced an alley/street where we listened to people leaving bars when we were trying to sleep and smelled smoke from the people below. The beds were very hard. The room was clean but worn out. And the parking was far away and made an early morning departure a bit tricky.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, I was very much looking forward to it, as I'd booked after seeing the lovely rooms shown on their website. So I was rather disappointed to get to my room which cost almost £400 for a 2 night stay. It was not one of the nicer rooms advertised, you have to pay even more for them, it was quite basic and not very well finished off. Premier Inn rooms are nicer. The hotel was fully booked so there was no chance of changing rooms either. Breakfast was nice... Read more

Room excellent. Service great, but had issues (still having issues) with credit card transactions. They "pre authorize" payments prior to your stay and then again submit a transaction at check-out - but both are recorded and regarded as payment transactions. This is causing a bit of negative emotions because you need to "reverse" the first transaction once your are back home - in my case - back in another country.

We stayed at the Beresford hotel two nights, first night September 8th. the room was adequate but not worth the price paid, second night September 22. that time the room was very small (room 132) no room to open the suitcase anywhere but one small place under the window. The room was facing the suspended rail way and on the ground the tramway, with trains going every few minutes between the two, the single pane window dint close perfectly , felt like the train was in the room. We requested a ch... Read more

The reception staff were very pleasant, the room seemed basic but we knew we wouldn't be in it that much. When we returned early evening for a quick freshen up we couldn't believe how warm the room was. We headed back out for a meal and drinks , we were only a short walk away from all the main bars. We returned quite late and noticed it was still very noisy outside and it travelled up to our room. I managed to get a few hours sleep but was woken very early in the morning from the trains that we... Read more

Booked this for final night in Ireland after 2 week trip. If you are driving your own vehicle and using their address to find the hotel don't even bother since you will never see it and the roads it takes you down are one way and you wont see it as you drive right by it when you take a bend in the road. We were expecting to park on site based on their website mentioning charges for parking but since we could never find the hotel while in the car, even after asking nearby cabbies how to get the... The Guinness was nice which is a saving grace. My hamburger was the worst I have had in quite awhile. The flavor was odd and the bun was stale and the burger itself was overcooked. Fried were hand cut and fresh. Wife said her pizza was nice do I increased the rating. Service was OK. Price was OK.

Location is great, very central, quick stroll to the spire. Room was very warm but fine with window open. Staff friendly :) Rooms clean, exactly what we were looking for. Didn't try food so can't comment. Location and cleanliness main plus for me. Remember though if you have a car there is no on-site parking!!!

We were able to check in a little earlier than we were supposed to, which gave me a good first impression. We had to leave a 150 euro security deposit at the desk, which we confirmed we would get back when we were checking out the next day. I'll get back to that later in my review. The room was okay, nothing spectacular (wasn't expecting a lot for around £99 per night). There was no view from the window, all you could see was the other side of the hotel (just some windows and white walls) and... Read more

2 night break in Dublin. First night on our return to hotel after dinner 1030pm the lights went out!!! Everything was out - pitch black room with only my phone glow to help me see around an unfamiliar room. A real HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. Speaking to woman in room next door we rang reception. Response- you are not the first person to tell us. We do not have maintenance at night, we will try to get an electrician. Fine we all thought. NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION AND NO POWER OR LIGHT UNTIL 5 am. A ... Read more

First night in hotel was really noisy. We were at the front of the hotel and the window wouldn't close completely. The beds were also too soft. When we left we mentioned to reception as we didn't want the same room when else came back. Unfortunately he didn't put a note on file. We came back two nights later and asked to change rooms due to the noise. We were moved to the back of the hotel which was a lot quieter and beds were better. But the room was really hot even with window open. Also this ... Read more

We stayed here for 4 nights. had read reviews about noise but our stay was good we had room 533 on the 1st floor and no noise and plenty of sleep. Good price for our trip. The hotel is very close to the bus stop for the airport, also close to the train & bus station for any day trips. Great bars close by and friendly people to have a drink with a must to visit is the Confession box if you come across it great friendly bar.

This was fine for a one night stay. The location was convenient and the breakfast was average. My main complaint was that our room was adjacent to the train tracks. If you open the windows you can almost touch the train. Considering the prices in Dublin this was not bad value for money.

Stayed at the beresford for one night as I had meetings in Dublin and the location worked well. Was initially given room 122 but with the dart train nearly passing through the hotel every few minutes I knew I could not stay there and I dont see how anyone could. Went to reception and was shown to a room in the far,, far corner of the hotel- honestly a long walk to the room up and down a maze of stairs. Was told to get my bags upstairs, come back to reception and then make the walk back to the n... Read more

I stayed here for more than 10 nights and let me tell you the experience was not that satisfactory. Some of the staff members were very nice and believed in solving problems. Micheal and other reception staff like Luca, Lesley and Thomas were helpful however I had a very poor experience with the reception manager. That lad made things difficult for me and was not knowledgeable about the job. Later I realized he was just 3 months being joined. The wifi was good. The sleep quality was not that g... Read more

My fianc√© and I stayed at the hotel last weekend and we found the location very practical not only to get to the hotel from the airport (bus 747 takes you there for ‚?¨6) but it's also around 15min walk to the centre. Went down to bar to grab a "lite bite" - unfortunately they had stopped serving food at 9.30pm - fair enough! Ordered a soft drink and sat down with a colleague, when out of the blue, the barman Paul brought fresh fruit salad and yoghurt for me. It was very much appreciated. This hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet and had spacious rooms with ensuite, TV etc. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our (brief) stay. It is ideally placed for the Luis tram system and Connelly station for rail and the Dart system. It is only a few minutes walk from the city centre and a thirty minute walk (or short Dart journey) from the Aviva Stadium. We will use this hotel again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.

For just short of two hundred pound we expected a little more from our stay! Very outdated room, cold & noisy trainline running besides until all hours of the night! Fairly ok for location but if we'd have known what to expect we'd have paid a few pounds more for a more modern hotel more central location! All no wifi in rooms was a little disappointing!

If you want a decent hotel in a good location for a reasonable price then the Beresford is ideal. It is within walking distance (10 to 15 min) of all the major tourist places and Temple Bar. I stayed at this hotel only for one night and could not fault the reception staff, room or location (< 10 minutes to O'Connell Street or Temple Bar). My room was large with a very comfortable bed and wonderful bathroom. Whilst it is unfair to judge the hotel on factors outside their control, I would suggest that due to building work which is taking place nearby (and started at 07:30), combined with the fact that the hotel is very close to the tram line, the central bus station and an elevated tr...
