We had a three-night weekend trip to Dublin and chose this hotel mainly based on its location and not-too-high price. (The overall price level of accommodation in Dublin seems rather high.) And the experience was OK. The double room was large enough, comfortable and tidy, if not equipped with the latest innovations in plumbing and heating industry. We asked for a quiet room, and also got one - the window was towards the inside, so no views but also no noise. Street side would probably have been ... Read more

Excellent location. Just in front of a tram station that gives access to museuns and shops. The room was spacious for two twin beds. Good restaurants in the area. The break was awsome with choices of hot food.

A great middle class hotel in a great location, only a few minutes walk away from the Temple Bar area. Across the road from the hotel was the bus/train station and also a taxi station. I had a room in the Georgian wing which was excellent - a rooftop spacious room with rooftoop windows and large bathroom. Rooms and hotel were clean and well maintained, staff friendly and helpful. A restaurant and pub were also on the premises. Only downside was the looooong walk to the room, no elevator was avai... Read more

I have stayed here a number of times wile my partner does business, its a great location in Dublin for everything. Last time we stayed I thought the hotel was a little run down, but seems to have had a make over and some new faces since our last trip, breakfast is always good and we like the bar for food as a bit more life there, The staff are really nice and helpful too but in our 4 days I only saw one lady on reception all gents this to me gives the impression of not such a safe area so be car... The hotel is clean and staff exceptional and location not bad but if your room number is in the 500s You'll be disappointed. Up and down a maze of stairs to the far end of the hotel disconnected from everyone. Unfortunately we wouldn't stay again.

The positives: very central location, on the 747 bus link route from the airport, 20 minutes walk into town, round the corner from the hop on/off sightseeing bus, 20 minutes from Croke Park, fabulous staff, good breakfast and bar food. The negatives: very dated and tired looking rooms which are noisy at the front due to a bus station. Asked for a room at the back: a vent just outside, incredibly hot, windows only open slightly, had to ask for a fan. Paid 380 Pounds for 2 nights/twin room due to... Read more

Was expecting better quality of the bathroom; Room size was nice. Localization of the hotel was quite good, central. Ar conditioning was not needed but was broken either way. Staff was nice. Breakfast was not included in the room price (10â?¬/person/night) and was served in a normal buffet.

My friend and I booked for 2 nights on our first visit to Dublin. On arrival, our door lock was not working and after almost 30 minutes of standing waiting outside our room, we were eventually offered a different room. We went to the next room to find it was not clean. There were small hairs on the shower floor with lots of hair poking out the plug. There was also no toilet paper which suggests the room hadn't been prepared properly. After alerting a member of staff that the room we had been... Read more

Check in was fine, room was fine...plugs you can access, light switches that actually turn on the light you expect, clean room, comfy bed, hot breakfast. Staff friendly and accommodating. Service always good. Nice bar with nice bar staff, again service always good. There are a few bad reviews on here about rude staff but we never encountered them. The location is good and all sights etc are within walking distance, even Guinness, we walk everywhere and Dublin is easy to walk around. The room... Read more

Booked this for my wife birthday and our first visit to Dublin Very basic and for what we paid thought it would have been better Rooms are clean and tidy but that's it Right next to a bus station which is handy and taxi to airport Plenty of bars and restaurants around so you will not be stuck

Although the room was very clean, the price for the room was far too high for the quality of the room. The room directly over our heads we were able to hear all night - it sounded as if there was absolutely no insulation between us and the floor creaked badly. It was virtually impossible to sleep at all. This hotel would do in a pinch, but I would suggest looking elsewhere first for better accomodation at the same or lower price.

The Beresford Hotel does not look very special from outside. However, we got a great room overlooking the roofs of the neighborhood. Very quiet and lots of light. Bed was fine. So was the bathroom. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Could not have been more helpful. Breakfast is not included, but available for a reasonable price. One of the greatest advantages of the Beresford is its location in the center of Dublin, just 3 minutes to walk from the Liffey river, around the corner... Read more

We chose the hotel for its location, close to train station but also easy to get into the heart of Dublin. The double room we had (#101) was a good size , comfortable and with a large bathroom ,with a separate bath and shower. However, the room also has , across the road, a raised train line running past and a pub beneath. The train runs from 0630 to 2330 and the Pub is not a problem ,until patrons leave in the early hours of the morning. There was no double glazing on the windows , so noise is ... Read more

We were very happy with our stay at The Beresford. Our room ended up being huge and the bed was very comfortable. We were pleased with the standard for the money as it's quite expensive to stay in Dublin and the staff were great. We only wish we had time to have eaten in the restaurant!

Where to start.... Had to book late and ended up paying a lot of money for a tiny room, with two short single beds (I couldn't fit in the bed). My room was above the beer garden (room 121, avoid at all costs, very loud, it sounded like there was an exorcism going on late at night). Hotel is also near a train line so the room vibrates every few minutes. To top it off, the walls and ceilings must only be about 5 millimetres thick. It sounded like there was a circus moving around in the room above... Read more

We stayed for three nights The place is clean, centrally located right next to the train station which in most towns is a bad thing but in Dublin it is a good thing. There is also a large police station 100 feet from the front door. All good marks! However, the rooms are very out of date and are in need of serious work. It was just me and my son traveling and it was "ok" The trouble is the price they charged - an average of 200 Euro a night for a W Th Fri spread checking out on a Satuday.... Read more

I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel, as I had read a few unflattering reviews about it, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! My son and I stayed in the Beresford Hotel for 3 nights. We had a twin room on the second floor which was clean and functional. The hotel is within a short walking distance to Trinity Bar, Trinity College, Dublin Castle and many restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative is it was extremely noisy. The hotel from the outside looks very nice but is in need of a refurb which in some places looks like they had started. My room seemed to be a long walk away up and downstairs and windy corridors. The room was very basic and not exactly the nicest but for 3 stars, a short walk into the centrw and a good price it was fine.

Hotels answer when we complained through booking.com the agent was told it's a language barrier!!! We are English and speak English as they do in Ireland!!!!!!! Not a good excuse. Hotel is conveniently located right across from the bus station and near a tram stop. 5 minute walk to O'Connoll street and about 15-20 minute walk from Temple Bar/Trinity College area. Yes, the hotel has seen better days and there's no air conditioning but weather in Dublin doesn't typically require AC. The hotel is in a location convenient to public transport and has excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The desk staff was fantastic! My husband and I stayed here a few nights and for the most part, we enjoyed our stay for the limited time we were there. Like others have said, the hotel itself is a little weathered but that may be the case for many in the area (?). It had all the basics you would need. My only complaint is that the wifi is spotty at best and we were placed on the side next to the subway.
