Arrived early in the morning and room was not available but staff very helpful and took cases and advised if we wished breakfast still available - this was excellent - great choice and good value for money . Staff very helpful in relation to discussions on attractions / taxi's /buses etc . We were lucky enough to be upgraded which was lovely - overall room/space was excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable . Very spacious hotel with large seating areas should you wish to remain in hotel .... Read more

Had two stays at this hotel. The first week was at what I believe was the older wing, 8th floor (closer to the smaller back elevators). So-so. Comfortable. Not too small. No fridge or minibar. Terrible internet connection. The second week was in the newer wing with the view of the hotel front, 5th floor, and the rooms were pretty big and nice this time (pictured). Here the internet connection was excellent. Still no fridge or minibar though (which I learned by now was a pretty common practice in... Read more

Thought it may be a bit better than it was based on the price. Still very tidy and comfortable and the staff were friendly. Good buffet breakfast and easy waking distance to good restaurants and pubs - no need for taxi rides. One of the lifts was out of order which left only one to ferry everyone up and down, found it easier to walk the fire escape than wait to find the lift full every time.

When other reviewers say this hotel is only for a one- or two-night stay, my experience backs that up. It hosts business meetings and conventions, and is probably not the best option in Dublin for the leisure traveler. They cater to the corporate market and the recreational clientele seems secondary. The desk staff is hit or miss. The weekday morning staff I found courteous but impersonal and snippy. They were getting slammed, so it's probably understandable. The evening and weekend staff seem l... Read more

It's a good hotel with nice rooms & good service. What I think on the improvement side is, the breakfast has to have more veg items. Just toast butter is not enough. Secondly the normal rooms don't have an ac. So if it is warm, you are stuck. Cleanliness is also good. A nice experience overall.

Hotel is showing its age, lift was out of service for the two days, steps were not a bad option. Sleeping was just fine, shower adjustments are always a challenge over there. Electronic key card, a plus, no real complaints Breakfast the standard

I've been to the Ballsbridge for 3 conventions over the past 2 years. The hotel is quite nice (and very expensive -- that's why I've never slept here). However, the prices in its "eating places" are ridiculous, so I want to direct you to a hidden jewel. Walk down the street 2 long blocks along Pembroke -- past the lovely Arab Embassy -- to the Lansdowne Hotel. Go down the front stairs into the "Den" -- and enjoy the great carvery lunch! I am not advertising. I just wish that I could con... Read more

Check in was a problem as we were given a twin room instead of double. We asked for a room with a fridge, and didn't get one so we rang reception for one. A small portable fridge was delivered which did not chill drinks at all. Room in need of repainting, broken hinge on cupboard door, stained bedsheets and carpet. No air conditioning. Will not stay in this hotel again.

We needed a hotel that was within (lengthy) walking distance of the centre, at a few weeks notice, and this had a good reputation. Actually its a bit far from the centre on rainy nights, and the reputation is a tad overblown and tired. The primary function of the hotel seems to be the serving of tour groups; that night, it was french, german, and asian groups. Consequently, the buffet breakfast (15E additional per person) was very broad in its choices. Very small room and bathroom were very clea... Read more

The staff is very friendly and polite. However, if you have an internet deal, make sure upon arrival that they are on the same page as you and get your proofs ready. The bedrooms were spacious and well equipped, though a bit tired. But there again it seems this hotel was meant to be grounded at some point, then wasn't which might explain the lack of will to do costly repairs. The pub offers very decent pub grub, nothing posh, but satisfying enough. Beer is great (like anywhere in Dublin). Brea... Read more

What a shame put a real downer on our trip to Dublin , The hotel is dated our room was dirty and the bed is the most uncomfortable I have stayed in , the bathroom was dirty the windows are not double glazed and the noise is so loud of the building work going on next door and the main road that runs outside the hotel . We would never stay here again for the price you can find so much better in Dublin DO NOT STAY HERE !! Shame as Dublin is a lovely place Brett warren Room 615 16/06/16

This hotel is amazing! I was being treated to a night away for a very special occasion and the hotel along with its staff ensured it was the most perfect night. The staff were all very kind, welcoming and helpful. To my surprise we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite, words cannot describe how astonishing the room was. It was ideal for a romantic getaway. The hotel is in an excellent location and very convenient if travelling to or from the Airport, a bus stops right outside the hotel. ... Read more

This hotel is a nice place to stay in the Ballsbridge section on Dublin. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were not small at all. The hotel was professionally staffed and they were willing to go "above and beyond".We had breakfast at the restaurant before leaving and the service was quick and food was good.

Recently stayed at The Ballsbridge hotel in Pembroke road. This we found to be nicely located, near to the RDS and a bus ride from town . I loved the large bedroom , even though this was a standard suite it was very comfortable and clean. We had a cooked breakfast each morning to keep us going for the day and for the time we were there the breakfast was consistent and service was as you would expect. But that was about it..... Staff in the Dubliner Bar are rude and discourteous. Don't order the fish because they can't be bothered scaling it! A polite request to convert some coins into a note was laughed at. Fortunately the manager (?) saw me just standing there, open mouthed, and complied with my request. Both men, on separate occasions, were European, perhaps with too little English to hold a conversation, but rude in manner and this should be addressed. By contrast the reception staff were most helpful, thank y... Read more

Helpful staff, great buffet breakfast selection with authentic Irish breakfast options. Room was really nice, clean and tidy. Decent sized room as well, with good storage space. Would definitely recommend staying here if you have a few extra dollars to spare. Only downside is that hotel is located a little far from main attractions.

Visited Dublin for the weekend with my partner. Hotel was lovely, clean rooms and welcoming staff. Was a bit of a walk from Dublin centre but if the weather is nice it's a nice walk. Only downside was the maid coming into the room 3 times over the weekend even though we had the 'do not disturb' sign up. On the last morning we had to check out at midday so planned a lazy morning, however was woken up at jut before 9am by our room door slamming as the maid must have come in and realised we were as... Stayed on 14 July the hotel very nice and clean however unless you want a early morning call due to building work next to hotel I would suggest you chose a different hotel. It depends what you are looking for in a hotel. Close to the Southside city centre, no quirkiness, just a place to rest, meet, eat. I was there on an occasion, not to sleep... But went to eat breakfast at the restaurant (15?, very decent for a full buffet), and spent almost the whole day in the ballroom... Which is tastefully understated and situated well away from the rooms, which I suppose is a guarantee of a restful night (unlike some hotels that have weddings right under your bed ;)) The p... Good hotel for the money, ?129 euro B&B near the city's south central social area booked last minute on the day is pretty good value. I had dinner from the bar menu costing ?15 and it was good. The rooms were clean and the shower was also good. Breakfast was help yourself style and it had plenty choices. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Although being sold as a 4 star hotel I wouldn't give it more than 3. The hotel room was really outdated yet very clean which was a plus. Staff also was very friendly and the location of the hotel is really good as well. The price of the breakfast (12Euro pp) was a bit high which made us decide to eat elsewhere as there are plenty of cheaper options in the close surroundings. All in all our stay was good and we slept very well in the comfortable beds.
