Arrived early in the morning and room was not available but staff very helpful and took cases and advised if we wished breakfast still available - this was excellent - great choice and good value for money . Staff very helpful in relation to discussions on attractions / taxi's /buses etc . We were lucky enough to be upgraded which was lovely - overall room/space was excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable . Had two stays at this hotel. The first week was at what I believe was the older wing, 8th floor (closer to the smaller back elevators). So-so. Comfortable. Not too small. No fridge or minibar. Terrible internet connection. The second week was in the newer wing with the view of the hotel front, 5th floor, and the rooms were pretty big and nice this time (pictured). Here the internet connection was excellent. Still no fridge or minibar though (which I learned by now was a pretty common practice in... Read more

Thought it may be a bit better than it was based on the price. Still very tidy and comfortable and the staff were friendly. Good buffet breakfast and easy waking distance to good restaurants and pubs - no need for taxi rides. One of the lifts was out of order which left only one to ferry everyone up and down, found it easier to walk the fire escape than wait to find the lift full every time.

When other reviewers say this hotel is only for a one- or two-night stay, my experience backs that up. It hosts business meetings and conventions, and is probably not the best option in Dublin for the leisure traveler. They cater to the corporate market and the recreational clientele seems secondary. The desk staff is hit or miss. The weekday morning staff I found courteous but impersonal and snippy. They were getting slammed, so it's probably understandable. The evening and weekend staff seem l... Read more

It's a good hotel with nice rooms & good service. What I think on the improvement side is, the breakfast has to have more veg items. Just toast butter is not enough. Secondly the normal rooms don't have an ac. So if it is warm, you are stuck. Cleanliness is also good. A nice experience overall.

I've been to the Ballsbridge for 3 conventions over the past 2 years. The hotel is quite nice (and very expensive -- that's why I've never slept here). However, the prices in its "eating places" are ridiculous, so I want to direct you to a hidden jewel. Walk down the street 2 long blocks along Pembroke -- past the lovely Arab Embassy -- to the Lansdowne Hotel. Go down the front stairs into the "Den" -- and enjoy the great carvery lunch! Check in was a problem as we were given a twin room instead of double. We asked for a room with a fridge, and didn't get one so we rang reception for one. A small portable fridge was delivered which did not chill drinks at all. Room in need of repainting, broken hinge on cupboard door, stained bedsheets and carpet. No air conditioning. Will not stay in this hotel again.

We needed a hotel that was within (lengthy) walking distance of the centre, at a few weeks notice, and this had a good reputation. Actually its a bit far from the centre on rainy nights, and the reputation is a tad overblown and tired. The primary function of the hotel seems to be the serving of tour groups; that night, it was french, german, and asian groups. Consequently, the buffet breakfast (15E additional per person) was very broad in its choices. Very small room and bathroom were very clea... Read more

The staff is very friendly and polite. However, if you have an internet deal, make sure upon arrival that they are on the same page as you and get your proofs ready. The bedrooms were spacious and well equipped, though a bit tired. But there again it seems this hotel was meant to be grounded at some point, then wasn't which might explain the lack of will to do costly repairs. The pub offers very decent pub grub, nothing posh, but satisfying enough. Beer is great (like anywhere in Dublin). Brea... Read more

Although being sold as a 4 star hotel I wouldn't give it more than 3. The hotel room was really outdated yet very clean which was a plus. Staff also was very friendly and the location of the hotel is really good as well. The price of the breakfast (12Euro pp) was a bit high which made us decide to eat elsewhere as there are plenty of cheaper options in the close surroundings. All in all our stay was good and we slept very well in the comfortable beds.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Dublin. We found the hotel very clean and the bedrooms spacious and comfortable. All the staff are very helpful. The only down side was the bar area has had some decoration work done and there was paint splashes on some of the sofas. It's a bit of a walk into the city centre but the taxi drivers offer a world of recommendations so worth paying for them. We would return

This hotel really prides itself on the customer service! The staff are so friendly and accommodating and always have smiles on their faces. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent, you name it they provided it. Rooms were very clean and cleaned everyday! The cleaning staff are very helpful and even if you have do not disturb on the door, they still leave clean towels and shower gels at the door. I have to say that the hospitality shown in this hotel is great!!

We had a room booked for 3 people & were supposed to have 3 beds, as all the other hotels we stayed in while in Ireland had when booked as a triple room. When we got to the room, there were only 2 beds-a double & a single. The woman at the front desk was very rude & refused to correct the problem. Their solution was a very thin mattress on a broken cot frame.

Traditional quality hotel, if expensive. Everything on site. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Could do with some modernisation but have heard it is to be demolished to make way for apartments so that could explain why not. Did n't like that our room was right next to the building site next door, which was very noisy with a pile driver going at 8.00 am. Not the hotel's fault but could affect one's choice of location.

3 of us stayed here for one night. The room was spacious, warm and very clean. The lunch offering of nachos was a very generous helping! Breakfast had a great selection and again, very clean restaurant and buffet. The hotel is close to the city, served well by busses and close to 3Arena and Aviva. Would definitely visit again.

Really nice hotel which is completely spoiled by the building works all around. The hotel is lovely with a nice big rooms. Getting woken up at 7am by the building works outside our window isn't what you want when you are away for a relaxing city break. The hotel can't do anything about the works going on but didn't warn/discount us for this. I do think they should discount rooms that are effected by this. Even offering free breakfast would be a nice touch. Maybe updating the windows to double ... Read more

across the street from US embassy and Israel embassy, I assume it must be a very safe location. :D it is possible to walk to downtown 10-20 minutes, depending where you going. We enjoyed the bar downstairs one night. Nice and quiet rooms.

The hotel was absolutely fine but it was a rugby weekend and service/facilities suffer as they make way for hoards of drinking supporters, no bar food and very limited restaurant menu, several sets of beer taps set up to maximise alcohol sales. This is fine but not pleasant for other guests who want to enjoy their expensive hotel experience. Breakfast poor with buffet food congealing in a bambaree and no freshly cooked options. On a positive note the bedroom was lovely and bed very comfortable. ... Read more

Stay over for a night while on business and really it was very nice the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The room I was in was massive extremely spacious and comfortable. I didn't have much of a view as there was construction going on next door but I really enjoyed my stay.

I used to stay in this hotel all the time and after my last visit I'm so disappointed. The hotel room was just not up to scratch at all, considering the price. Fantastic location and the staff were exceptionally helpful when we brought them our issues. But I wouldn't ever pay what we paid for here again. Hopefully with some room improvements - the hotel will get back to its glory

This hotel was really beautiful. Very professional staff at front desk and the rooms were very clean and pretty. I would definitely stay here again. They had a really good breakfast buffet and we also had drinks and a late nite bite in the pub.

Stayed here this week with work colleagues. Two of requested to be moved due to internal and external noise. The 3th floor and the 7th floor. This was done immediately. The hotel is surrounded by building sites that start very early also I found a lot of internal noise as if who ever is allocating the rooms are putting business, tours and people in Dublin for a fun night all on same floors. Staff and service are very good as is the food. They should have a warning on there booking sites that ... Read more

I arranged a weekend at this hotel for my boyfriends birthday as a surprise. We arrived late evening to the Ballsbridge, check in was fine no issues there. We went for a drink in the Dubliner pub within the hotel then went to our room for the night. We woke in the morning to dried blood stained sheets and another brown patched stain!! We felt physically sick! The room we were put in was not a new refurbished room and you could tell........patch worked wallpaper and the room just very tired and w... Read more

It is a lovely walk from the hotel to the city centre of Dublin but you can easily cab it. The hotel offers very clean and quiet accommodation and the staff is wonderful. Transport is available from the hotel to the airport but be advised - this is by bus and the stop is across the road from the hotel. Allow 15 minutes to cross the busy road way at the lights and make your way to the bus stop. This is so handy for airport transport.

We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage while we looked around Dublin. Our room was large and clean if a little dated. We used room service which came quite quickly, we ordered a BLT which was fine. Breakfast selection was good.

I booked this hotel as I normally stay in the Clyde court when I visit Dublin. This hotel was in the same hotel group so thought it would be ok. We stayed on Sunday night and I was disappointed with the service. We ate in the Dubliner , food was good but later my husband asked for change for the vending machine and was refused at the bar. We had left the bar 20 minutes previously but wanted change for water from the machine . We were also refused at reception ! The Clyde Court provided bottles o... Read more

This hotel is in a lovely area where many embassies are located. While not directly downtown, the walk is not very far. We stayed in the towers, which can be a bit of a "hike" to the main parts of the hotel. There is construction next door but, being there on a weekend, we were not bothered by the noise. The rooms are quite large. I'm not certain about price, since I was on a tour.

The reception staff were amazingly helpful. Our first time in Ireland and this has set a great example for future visits. Rooms clean and nice decor throughout. A nice walk into Dublin City centre (please note: wear flats) the gent in reception gave directions and pointed out all the best bars for us and my goodness was he right. We've had an awesome time and enjoyed our stay! We didn't have breakfast so can't really comment... (we're not morning people). Nothing better than friendly, knowledgab... Read more
