We arrived at Albany House a couple hours before check-in, weary from an all night flight from the US. The Staff immediately welcomed us in and had a room ready to go for us. I cannot emphasize enough how nice it was to be welcomed this way and allowed to check in so early. To add to this, the location is ideal for getting a great price on a room and still being able to easily walk to St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street, Temple Bar and more. Our room was high above the street and we didn't h... Read more

This hotel was booked through a package deal so I wasn't really sure what to expect. The other hotel we had through the vacation package in London was excellent. This hotel is okay. We ended up getting a room in the bottom corner of the house so we had a view of a brick wall and constantly heard the rumbling of the tram right above us. There was also a lot of noise coming from the night club down the street. My husband thought an angry mob was forming at one point. The room was clean, but very o... Read more

Albany House is a very nice hotel, very well placed (near de centre of the city). The acommodations were all very clean and well treated. The room was full enough for the propose and the bathroom well equiped. Breakfast is a good option (although variety could be larger). I still think that it was a very good option for my stay.

This is a really excellently-located hotel, with a very clean and tidy room. The staff were incredible - I woke at about 4 am and had a terrible headache but no water to take a tablet - I went to the reception area to ask if perhaps a shop was open nearby, and the guy there went to the kitchen and got me two big glasses of water. I know this doesn't seem extraordinary, but it was just so thoughtful! I had expected a very noisy hotel, given the Harcourt St. location, but this was not the case at ... Read more

As others have written, this place is walkable distance from city center, airport bus stop, etc. For us the "continental" breakfast was lovely after 3 weeks of classical Irish breakfasts (meat, meat, eggs, meat); there were a variety of unusual cheeses and breads, fruit salad, etc. I was initially disappointed when given a basement room, as the view was of a back alley complete with a discarded toilet, but when we closed the curtains we were left with a very spacious room, including a desk for c... The property is undergoing some remodeling or work so there were service people in the main lobby entrance when we were there, but nothing too inconvenient. The staff were very friendly and the rooms nice enough though they could use softer pillows (but that is only me). The location is pretty central and they have a wonderful breakfast selection.

Albany House is very well located, a 10 minute walk to the city centre, a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and pubs in Wexford Street and only a couple of minutes to St Stephen's Green. The rooms are spacious with firm beds and stylish bathrooms. Shower water pressure was excellent and the nice range of toiletries was a bonus. Our room was on the ground floor at the front and should be avoided by those who are light sleepers. Breakfast was continental but with ample choice including a wide range... Read more

Our best sleep in 2 weeks! Clean and comfortable in a converted set of Georgian Townhouses. Reception staff were helpful and courteous. Breakfast included fruit, cold cereal, juice, bread/toast and tea or coffee. Best coffee i have had in ireland as well. Our room was at the back so was reasonably quiet. Rooms at the front might be noisy since the Luas tracks run in front. Location is great, a very short walk to St Stephens Green. 20 minutes or so to walk to Temple Bar.

Went for a night in Dublin, and had a nice stay. The front desk was very helpful, and my room was ready early, and they were to hold my luggage the next day cause I left Dublin after check out time. It was in a nice location by St. Stephan's Green, and I was able to walk to the different locations I wanted to visit.

The hotel's interior has seen better days, but on our checkout day, we did notice new carpet going down in the lobby area. There also seemed to be a lot of refurbishment going on, so perhaps the upgrades will up their rating if we were to return. Our first room, #15, was downstairs. It was spacious, but around 6:30 am, we started to hear noises on the floor above. It got worse and worse. We were under the breakfast area. The noise became intolerable. We were moved to a quieter room down the ha... Read more

I stayed here for 2 nights. It is conveniently located right by St. Stephen's Green Park and Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Shopping Center. They don't have elevators so you have to lug your luggage up and down the stairs. I had to go down 2 flights of stairs with my luggage so it was a bit of a work out. They do have free wifi which you have to ask them for the login and daily passwords that expire after 24 hours. Breakfast is included, but the food is so-so: cereals, yogurt fruits, coffee, t... This place is centrally located a bit away from the craziness of Temple Bar and near The university. The room was adequate but a bit noisy from street sounds and a nearby nightclub. It was warm so the window needed to be open as there is no air conditioning. The highlight was the breakfast which was excellent.

This guest house has large well appointed rooms. Staff are very friendly and our rooms were available when we showed up early. The breakfast was very good and the toast was hot. The only complaint I have is the WIFI signal was very weak and I kept losing it.

i read the reviews before booking, so I asked for a quiet room away from the street noise, which was key! The Georgian home is very quirky which adds to its charm. Our room was very large and actually had 2 bathrooms and a large living room/sitting area. The price was very reasonable for Dublin, and you can't beat the location - close to everything! Continental breakfast was fine.

My family stayed at Albany House for a 2 days visit to Dublin. There were 5 of us and we stayed in a double room and a triple room. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The en-suite bathrooms were very modern and functioned well. Our rooms were obviously update recently. The building is a historic downtown structure with lots of charm. The breakfast included with the room was very generous, delicious continental style with a variety of fruits, cereals, breads, cheeses and meats to choose ... Read more

You will see in some of these reviews that Albany House is a little old and faded. And that's true. If that matters to you, this may not be your thing. But we found it delightful. Its location is just about perfect, near St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street, Trinity College and Temple Bar. We loved the Georgian architecture of the hotel and everything else on the street. We stayed in Room 102, which had enormous ceilings and a large window that was great to look out during a rainstorm. The bath... Read more

This is a very nice hotel located within walking distance of the Temple Bar area, shopping and St. Stephen's green. The hotel is definitely under construction as other reviewers have noted but it was not obnoxious or intrusive. We had a room in the "basement" with a window below the street but it was a very clean and large room with a very clean and large bathroom. I do have to say that I was a little worried about getting out of the tub with wet feet onto the slick bathroom times (I am not t... Read more

I knew before booking that there was no lift in the hotel. Not unusual for small businesses in Europe. But the hotel is very clean, yes...a little old and tired. But I loved it! It is close to nice shopping areas, great restaurants...and morning breakfasts were great! Fresh fruit, yogurts...but the daily-made, homemade bread (and the wonderful woman who makes this for you) was very well-worth the stay. If you'd rather have a hefty breakfast, there's a tiny street/alley on the way to the Dublin ... Read more

The Albany House is in a very convenient spot and just out of the noisy tourist section of town. Its a quick , safe walk to the start of Grafton street with dining and coffee on the same block. Rooms were nicely apponted and 24hr front desk staff were always there to help with any helped that you needed. Breakfasts were always good.

The location of this hotel is great. Walking distance to Grafton Street, St. Stephens Green and Temple Bar. Room was very clean, lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. We were on the top floor, be mindful there is no lift, so you will need to request a ground floor room if you do not want to climb five flights of stairs and endure leg burn at the top!! We stayed during the recent hot spell so needed to leave the window open at night. There was noise from outside, traffic and late night re... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights when in Dublin. The rooms were big and the bathrooms was nice and clean. A little dissapointed with the breakfast. Only cheese and jam to have on the bread. Could maybe have some ham or something?? A little to simpel breakfast. It's only a three star hotel but we paid over 560 euro and for those amount of money we expect a little more. Would not stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Albany House for 3 nights for the Rock n Roll half marathon weekend. I had already read the reviews, so asked for a quiet room. We were given a lovely room at the rear of the building, on the 2nd floor. Plenty of room, comfortable bed, good shower. There was no safe in the room, but receptionist said we could put any valuables in the safe in the reception. We enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was adequate for us. The only issue, which has put us off staying there again w... Read more

We spent 3 nights in an executive king room. (201). It was a very large room with room for a king size bed, dresser, armoire in one section and a comfy couch and arm chair in the tv area. The modern marble bath was cleverly built into a corner of the room. High ceilings (20 ft?) had elaborate crown molding and center rosette. The two tall windows look out onto Harcourt Street which has many busy nightclubs. But as they are actually double windows, no noise enters the room. A nice continental bre... Read more

Ok, so lets start with the positives. The hotel is a mile or so from the heart of Dublin City Centre and is therefore a good base to explore all the major landmarks. Compared to other hotels in the area its cheap and the staff are helpful. Now the negatives. Its almost opposite a very large night club and if you have a room at the front of the hotel on a Saturday night, don't expect to get much sleep until things die down. On the Saturday we were there, this was 6am. To be fair to the hotel, t... Read more

Hotel is located not far from Grafton Street, round the corner of St Stephen's Square...looks very nice from the outside...a grand townhouse. Reception is large and spacious and the décor of the hotel is traditional. I asked for a room on the top floor but didn't realise that it meant the fifth floor and no lift...one to be aware of. Very conveniently located just off St.Stephens Green, therefore very handy for The National Concert Hall as well as Grafton Street and shopping. Rooms were very comfortable and airy, in a wonderful Georgian Building. Continental Breakfast is more than plenty for the day. Our room looked over Hardcourt Street, and despite the activities across the street, we were not in the slightest bit disturbed. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good price for high season Dublin. I booked a standard room and when we arrived, I was impressed with the location and the exterior. Staff were very pleasant and gave us keys to room 42. 5 or 6 flights of stairs later and we arrived in the worst room I have ever been in. I was in too much shock to take pictures but wish I had. Every strip of wallpaper was peeling off the walls, there were greasy handprints and dirty marks all over the walls and the carpet was filthy. It was awful. I stayed here with one of my best friends for a girly mini break and we chose this hotel based on the location.. and i have to say it did not disapoint. Right next to the park and down a street and looked very residential and beautiful. It was a 3 minute walk (if that) into the city centre. The rooms were big enough for us with a comfortable and clean bathroom. They had very creaky stairs and floorboards but to be honest, it added to the old irish city charm! I am going to start my review with the good things about this place. First, the check-in process was very easy and I got a room on the third floor facing the street. The room itself was clean, did not smell funny, high ceilings, and felt very comfortable. Albany House itself is in a great location that is walking distance to many of the major Dublin sights and was only a 7 minute walk from an Airport bus station.
