I recently visited this beautifully charming hotel with friends and had an amazing stay. I got chatting with numerous staff all extremely professional and polite. Danielle was a delight, and Cian the barman had vast knowledge of the local area and even made me a surprise cocktail which was delicious!! Cannot stress how pleasant all the staff at this hotel are! will absolutely recommend it.

We spent three lovely days at the hotel , which we throughly enjoyed from the moment we arrived till our departure on wed 18th of May . The best part for the other half was the beamish at the hotel which to him was the best ever which he told our lovely bar tender David so on that note we have no problem in telling others to have a break there Bernadette and Frid from Dublin

We stayed in the imperial last night - good value package, great location, lovely hotel (nice lobby/bar/coffee shop with olde-world charm). Rooms were nice too (if carpets in some of the stairs to rooms a little tired). It was shaping up for a very pleasant stay until dinner in the Pembroke - maybe the "A" shift were not working at 8:30pm on a Sunday, but Dinner was well below average - and definitely well short of 4-star standard. Caesar salad looked clumsily put together and patchy - plenty of... Read more

Back in Cork for a family holiday.. Very comfortable stay and reasonable enough for a city centre hotel. The hotel staff very very friendly and helpful. The room was quite warm as it was warm outside. They gave us a fan for the room and checked up on us later to see if we were ok..a nice touch.

Just back from a four day stay and there is very little to fault with this Hotel. We were treated very well from start to finish, all staff were friendly to deal with. Rooms were clean and well decorated. Breakfast could be better quality but dining room, Bar and Lobby loos etc. very clean. Parking is a 5 minute walk away but easy to get to. All in all a very enjoyable stay

My grandmother and I, visiting Ireland for my 18th birthday, had a somewhat atypical experience at the Imperial Hotel. It, like many other reviews will tell you, has a wonderfully central location, pleasant rooms, and excellent restaurants. My grandmother and I, however, have tested the Imperial Hotel's civility perhaps more than any other client. On our second day there, my grandmother tripped on the sidewalk and broke several teeth and her jaw, in two places. Wonderful thing about the Impe... Read more

Dear Manager I am writing with regard to my recent stay at the Imperial Hotel, Cork. My smashing old Nanny Flo used to use a term ‚??Fur coat and no knickers‚?? which sadly springs to mind when I think of my stay at your hotel. Gorgeous to look at but nothing underneath. I checked in for a 9 night stay between 23rd May to 1st June and was on a business trip. Firstly, I was not helped up to my room with my large suitcase which I kind of would expect with a hotel of this stature and a dedicated... Read more

This review is regarding the Escape spa at the Imperial Hotel only as I was not staying at the hotel itself. Myself and my Mother booked in to the escape spa for a treat after I had my baby. This involved her taking a day off and me getting a babysitter. I was booked for an Indian head massage which was a 60 minute treatment costing ‚?¨90. The treatment started with a foot cleansing ritual and then I was asked to get on the treatment couch. The therapist left the room for me to do this for what ... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in May. It was a bit confusing of where to park when checking in. Once checked in, you are given a map to the Car Park...not close by. I must have been in one of the older rooms as the curtains had rips, there were burns on the carpet and the bathtub faucet was unsecured. There was no thermostat in the room but there was a fan in a cupboard to use. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. There are quite a few hallways and stairs to navigate to get to the room. ... Read more

From the 1900 with history, however some of the interior could use some modernization. Overall a nice place to stay in the city center close to the very nice Old English Market. Spacious rooms, nice service, good food and you feel like taken back into the Victoria times.

Stayed here for two nights as part of a luxury tour group. This is an old hotel, and the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, so no issues there. What was an issue, was the mold all around the tub in the bathroom. Clearly noticeable and most unappealing, it immediately made for this establishment not living up to kits four star rating. The first night, we had a fair meal with friendly service, but the second night was an absolute disaster. Staff running around like chickens with their ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel as it was the first one we found when we arrived in Cork. It was a little pricey for our range but we took the plunge. The room was lovely, on the second floor, but we had a noisy night as we had to leave the windows open. The street noise was very loud and went on all night. However on checking out I was asked how the night was. the manager went out of his way to ensure I was happy and ended up refunding a large part of my room rate as he wanted us to be happy. I wa... 3 Friends and myself stayed here in June on an overnight stay for a concert. It was a luxurious experience. The room, hotel facilities, food and staff were second to none. The location was brilliant too. The car park took a bit of negotiating and manoeuvring. If you are going to stay here my advise would be to pull up in the loading bay of the hotel drop your luggage and ask for the car park swipe and directions. I organised my friend's Baby Shower and we decided on Afternoon Tea in the Hotel. From the minute we booked, the staff were outstanding, Kevin, the Manager reserved a beautiful area upstairs for the Party where we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco each and unlimited Tea's and Coffee's. The food itself was really tasty and it was extremely good value. It was the perfect setting for our party as it was cut off from the rest of the Bar but beautifully presented. I would highly recommend!

At first glance the hotel seemed four star with a classical, opulent entrance and lovely staff. Set down on a busy Saturday afternoon on a very busy one way thoroughfare was a disaster however, and the offsite car park is a good stretch of the legs (ten minutes walk). If a classy joint with great bar food is what you need in a busy Cork city centre location, then the bar food in The imperial Hotel will do just very nicely. Overall our experience at this hotel was very pleasant owing to the great and personal service given from the reception where Charley was immensely cordial and patient as well as welcoming. We went to this hotel and we thought it would be a great place, but we were very disappointed.. The bedroom was small, smelly and so so warm (outside was only 15degres, so cannot imagine if the sun is out). There was no air conditioning in the room, just an old tiny fan. The bathroom was in a bad shape (old, small and not fully clean) I think for the price of the bedroom, it could be much better. The only positive point is the staffs.

The Imperial Hotel is centrally located in the city of Cork and convenient for those who are arriving in Cork by train--which is about a 15 minute walk from the train station. Close-by is the English Market (Try to have lunch in the restaurant located on the balcony--open for approximately 3 hours only.) and the hop-on-hop-off bus. The employees at this hotel were all genuinely kind, helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was excellent and the dining room was bright and pleasant. Our room was large and well-equipped, but it overlooked a pub on Pembroke Street. That wasn't a problem earlier in the week, but on the weekend a live band played until quite late and it was loud. I suspect street noise would be a problem with most downtown Cork hotels on a Friday night, and the thick windows at the Imperial did a pretty g... Read more

This is a charming old hotel in a great location for getting out and about in the city. It's also close to several local pubs, which meant a lot of street noise late into the night. Closing the window eliminated sounds, but without air conditioning in 60 -70 degree (F) weather, the small fan provided little relief. Didn't sleep well at all during our stay. This was a genuine mistake on our part and we didn't realise... Read more

For a woman travelling on their own, this is not suitable if you're driving, There was no car parking available on the street and the closest car park that the hotel use was booked out due to other functions, I arrived after driving around for about 15 mins looking for the parking, and eventually got a space in the drop off zone outside the hotel, went in to check in and asked about parking, and was there anyone there to park your car for you, the answer sadly was no, I checked in and was told... We said that we would have plenty of time for the turning on of Cork City/s Christmas lights which were due to be turned on at 7.15 pm by our rowing stars the O Donovan brothers . We just made the switching on with 5 minutes to spare , Now Patrick Street is only 100 yards from the hotel . There were two girls serving all the tables and the were run off there feet ,poor girls . This was my fourth time to stay at the Imperial and it did not disappoint. I shared a twin room with a friend and we requested a quiet room. The room was quiet(difficult enough for such a busy hotel) and it was comfortable and spotlessly clean. I can highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was lovely and the dinner in the main restaurant was also very good and was included in our package...I must single out the waiter Olan, who was very busy as the restaurant was busy (Saturday night) and he ... I usually either choose to stay here or in Jury's hotel when in Cork, and this is the better and more expensive option, but then I never have problems with the Wi-Fi here, it has a definite atmosphere and the breakfast is top notch. Very central, lovely rooms, super clean and very friendly staff.

Returned to the Escape spa after I was kindly given a voucher following an awful experience in the Summer. I must say my therapist was head and shoulders above my previous experience, she was absolutely excellent, attentive and adjusted the treatment to my needs. I really like the relaxation room and the pool area is small, but nice. It did seem very busy when we arrived but we were looked after. Still not sure it's my favourite but 100% improved from my last visit. We had lunch included in th... Read more

While over 200 years old, you wouldn't know it when walking into the hotel lobby. Very modern and well appointed, the lobby, restaurant, and bars were very inviting and staffed with very friendly people.

I stayed in Imperial Hotel for 3 nights as part of a business trip. Overall the hotel was very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room I had was very small, as was the bathroom (No bath, only shower). I was in a double room but I was greeted by my pet hate of 2 single beds pushed together. Usually when this happens it is not that bad although this time the 2 single mattresses kept sliding apart and I was getting lost in the depths of the bed! The room was on the 4th floor and very s... Nice Hotel, lovely reception and shared areas. Our bedroom was OK, spacious, but not one of the newly decorated rooms which look nicer. However it was still nice, big enough and had everything we needed, only had a shower though and I prefer a bath but we were only there one night so no big deal. The Location is perfect, it is right next to Oliver Plunkett Street, everything is within walking distance.

I had the pleasure of staying at this old but beautiful hotel while on a business trip in Ireland. The staff is great, the rooms are too and the location is perfect. The only thing not perfect is having to park a few blocks away. This turned out to not be a problem and we had a great two night stay. You can walk to so many cool stores, restaurants and pubs from this hotel. It can be a little noisy outside at night if you are on the side of the hotel near one of the pubs but it gets real qui... As a group of 20 approximately who meet up annually in different counties to facilitate our diverse home locations,it can be difficult to find a good central hotel with enough free rooms to accommodate us. This year it was Cork's turn to wow us in mid November. The Imperial hotel seemed a good choice and it definitely has the pick of locations for shopping, bars and cafes being right in the center of town. The hotel foyer and bars are beautifully restored. The bedrooms that were allotted to us... Read more

I absolutely love this hotel! My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here last week and, as always with this hotel, had a wonderful time. The location is really just the icing on the cake here- only a minute walk to the shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and wonderfully kept without being gaudy or over the top. I believe it must be acknowledged - especially to management- that it is the staff that make this place truly special! From booking my room with Renee in re... Read more

The taxi from the Airport cost around 15 euros and was a relatively short drive. The outside of the hotel was welcoming and quite grand. After waiting after 3pm for check in, we got to our room which was pleasant enough, however after some closer inspections, realised there were some issues including: - central button missing from the remote control - loose connection on the plug in the bathroom sink - scum on the side of the bath - large scuff marks on the wall and the seat provided in t... Came for a hen weekend. When we arrived after 1pm, the rooms weren't ready so we went for lunch in the hotel but by 2.30 only 2 rooms were ready. Was going on for 4 by the time the 2 other rooms were ready which delayed us getting to spa and cut into our time in the thermal suite. On top of that after asking for twin rooms and being told we would be accommodated, all the rooms were in fact doubles. In the spa, I had a scrub and while having the shower afterward, within 3 minutes it began to ov... Read more

We were a group of 10 visiting Cork and staying in the Imperial Hotel. The evening meal was included in our stay. The Pembroke is a lovely buzzy restaurant right in the middle of Cork city. The menu was varied and interesting. Great service provided by Luke and Cathal.

Our stay was very nice. The staff was helpful right from the start. The rooms are a good size and clean. We dined at their restaurant which was pleasant as well. My only issues were minor things like no on site parking and there are still hot and cold taps for water. Things that would keep me from staying again were, poor wifi, we could not get on 50% of the time and the room was extremely warm over night even with the radiator off.

In Cork on Business, this hotel was booked in advance due its value for money and its central location (8km or ~20 mins by Taxi @Euro15). Although the decor is retro, it's far from tired and the whole place therefore appeared stylish & vibrant. The staff were all local, friendly and professional. The facilities were great, particularly the Irish Breakfast and the Breakfast Buffet. One of Cork's main highstreet shopping area, called Oliver Plunkett Street, which contains lots of Bars, Cafés and ... Read more
