To Marie, Gareth and Julie and management I stayed in your lovely hotel last night after a very long work day, arriving after 9pm. My room, 307, was stunning. I travel for work and stay in hotels alone several times each year and in truth, I don't like it. I always ask for a quiet room as I'm a poor sleeper but I've never had a nicer room. Sincere thanks. Gareth dealt with my email query with efficiency. Marie spoke to me on the phone and met me when I dropped my bag at midday. Julie gr... Read more

A big thank you to Rachel and her team who looked after us yesterday for our son's christening. All of our guests really enjoyed their day due to the fabulous food, service and surroundings. There was a great atmosphere in the hotel that day and my guests where able to enjoy the sunshine outside also and relax after dinner taking in the beautiful views. A big thank you from all of us and we look forward to seeing you all soon

Stayed 2 nights for family wedding. Beautiful location and weather was great. Staff are lovely - our wedding was number 4 of 5 in a row so they were very busy. food was fine , only had the wedding meal , breakfast was average, a sandwich at lunch time was just ok. The place could probably do with a refurb , decor a bit tired. Room was ok, although double bed pushed tight against the wall? Not a bad place

Enjoyed our short stay, we will be back to the hotel and golf course. Arrived and greeted at reception on Bank Holiday week-end, our request for a lake view room was confirmed, room was large and luxurious, great view of the golf course and Shannon. Had supper and breakfast following morning, both excellent, pleasant and helpful staff..

Setting 10/10 overlooking the lake on the River Shannon. Quiet and peaceful location with nothing but parkland all around. Really friendly local staff, Room was large with a great view of the water and large opening windows for the lovely fresh air. If its peace and quiet you seek and charming surroundings this is the one.

Went with another couple for 2 nights dinner b&b and 2 rounds of golf. Thoroughly enjoyable few days. The staff were exceptional and showed a friendliness not often seen these days. The golf course has stunning views - so much so that it was hard to concentrate on playing golf! Two beautiful meals - beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend!

We visited Glasson golf club for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks back, after been in athlone for the day. We didn't feel like cooking when we got home so decided to find somewhere to eat with our 2 year old on the way home. After looking up places to eat online we decided to try here and were not disappointed. The food was fabulous. I had soup to start and it was delicious, haven't had soup as nice in a long time and we both had roast beef as our main course which was a good size portion and so t... Read more

I cannot start to thank everyone involved with Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club enough for everything they did for us on our big day. We had our wedding here on the 4th June and from when we first booked it to when we checked out, the hotel were AMAZING. They went above and beyond and we are forever grateful. This is a family run hotel and you can tell by the personal touches, all of our guests raved about the venue and staff. A massive thanks to Fidelma and her team for making our day so... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for a mid week break for two nights. The hotel is top class and I couldn't find any fault with it. The staff are all friendly and very thorough. From the ladies at the reception desk to the bar staff, the staff on duty at breakfast time and other staff we passed in the corridor all made our stay really enjoyable. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our first night and it was really good. The buffet breakfast was very good also. Lots to choose from. The hotel is ... Read more

We had our wedding reception at Glasson Country House Hotel a few weeks ago and we cannot recommend this venue highly enough to any future brides and grooms. The whole day was seamless. The drinks reception was spacious with beautiful canapes, mini scones with jam and cream and sandwiches served to the tables. I heard many guests saying they were so full which is a rarity in my experience from drinks receptions at weddings. There was somewhere for everyone to sit and relax during the drinks rece... Stayed here for two nights. Nice, clean, relaxing, quiet hotel. Great coeliac options, although not depicted on the menu. Great breakfast buffet. While myself and my fiancé were there, the hotel was catering for a large German group, conferences and golfers and seemed to manage the numbers well. At times, we felt we weren't looked after as much or considered as important as other guests because we were slightly younger (late 20s) than the other clientele, especially during our dinner there and ... We stayed for one night mid week in which I booked a deluxe double room, dinner b&b. Got there to be given a family room, which was cold. We went for dinner of which I was expecting their restaurant as the web site had informed us - only to be sitting in the bar area with football on the TV screens and it was very noisy and open. The heating thermostat didn't work properly the in the middle of the night I had to go put it off as it was blowing out cold air when it was set for 23 degrees. Brea... Read more

Midweek the hotel is quiet enough to enjoy your breakfast, lunch & dinner without disturbing neighbours enjoying theirs. We stayed here for 2 nights B&B and Eve meal , it wasent cheap but the hotel was really lovely, views were amazing and if you like golf ,well you would be delighted,I'm not a golfer but had a lovely walk to the pier nearby Only downside of my stay was there is no pool or jacuzzi only steam room/sauna which takes a half hour to get ready. Hotel setting is beautiful over looking the lake. Didn't spend an awful lot of time here as the wedding we attended was in Wineport lodge. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only downfall was breakfast. Staff were fine, food wasn't. Not a great selection at all and the scrambled eggs were sitting there that long they had a solid crust. That was at 10am so there was still another hour of breakfast!

We visited Glasson on about four occasions now and have never been let down. The staff always courteous and friendly the room is particularly those overlooking the Shannon are superb. We would suggest try and get a room on the top floor. Although breakfast was buffet it was ample warm and well cooked. We do not go there for the golf just to relax when visiting this part of Ireland.

Stayed in this quiet little gem, actually won the weekend on a radio competition so all was good that way. Rooms were very spacious with an excellent views over the Shannon and the award winning golf course. I won a complementary round of golf so had to avail of it, the course was in fantastic condition, the greens in particular were well maintained and very fast. Food was very nice but slightly overpriced, waiting staff were pleasant as was management. All in all we had a great weekend.

This modern resort is still managed by the original owners of the farm land and their extended family. The rooms are large, the food is excellent and the bar very comfortable. Together with traditional Irish hospitality our stay was very enjoyable. The golf course is a tough but fair challenge for all golfers but you must stay on the fairway as the long rough is very unforgiving.

I visited this hotel with my husband and from the moment we entered I was impressed! The views are spectacular! We had just stopped for a drink here but decided to stay. The staff were all really professional and friendly. Our room was on the ground floor and had plenty of space and was spotless. This is not a criticism but we found the bed covers/duvet really heavy and at times uncomfortable, but this may not be the case for other people. Overall a really nice place to stay.
