Stayed in January found the location great, just in off the motorway giving me easy access to Athlone without any traffic. The hotel was clean and I found the staff very helpful and professional. Breakfast was great not deep fried and overcooked as is the case in most hotels these days. Ate in the bar on both nights and found the food and choice excellent. Room was clean and cosy, shower was amazing. Will definitely use this hotel again in the future

We are just back from a weekend break with our 4 kids in Athlone. We stayed in the Athlone Springs Friday and Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found all staff members to be very friendly and happy. We dined in the restaurant both for breakfast and in the evening. All meals were delicious and the kids menu was excellent for the little ones (considering how picky they are at the best of times). The most enjoyable part of our stay was the family time we spent in the Leisure Centre. We ... Read more

How is this place even open, it should be a priority of management to have their premises meet the basic hygiene requirements. Clean floors, sanitized bathrooms and a pleasant therapeutic atmosphere. Hopefully this place will turn around as it has the potential to be a great facility,. The pool is bright and pleasant ,that was it's only redeeming quality.

I stayed in the Athlone Springs Hotel the first weekend in January and it was such a lovely hotel. The ease of access to the hotel and the friendly staff made the stay so relaxing. I loved that I had access to the gym during my stay and my friend tried and loved the pool. We used the bar in the evening time and found it so cosy in the corner area by the fire. I would definitely return. ???

I checked out this afternoon after a 2 night stay with my partner and year old child. Overall the stay was most disappointing and a serious let down for a hotel (inexplicably!!) rated 4 stars and with some (deceptively) nice looking pics on various sites. Upon checking into our first room on the first night we opened one of the drawers to find a number of items of womens lingerie and medication. We informed management of this and they removed the items but before they had even left this room we ... Read more

I went for an overnight stay with my husband and two children recently to the Athlone Springs Hotel. We had not stayed overnight in Athlone before and got a good deal. The reception staff were friendly when checking in. I was not impressed and honestly do not understand how this Hotel is graded as a Four star Hotel. The family room was small and very basic, with a very uncomfortable camp bed pushed against the wall under the TV. The TV was tiny and poor quality, we had to ask reception for a co... Read more

I stayed in the Athlone Springs Hotel last weekend and I was really impressed with the staff. The girls on the reception desk were so friendly & helpful from the moment we arrived to our departure. The staff in the bar and the food was very good and great value & the breakfast was lovely. Our bedroom was lovely and spacious and clean. My only gripe is we were beside the fire door and every time somebody opened the door the door banged it really could have done with an arm to slow the door down a... Read more

Stayed here with three lads for a night and the rooms especially really are very poor. This is the furthest thing I've seen from a 4 star hotel in a long time! Pushing it at three star. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Athlone town, in an industrial estate, so don't expect any views! It's a taxi ride to the town centre which generally costs around ?10. On entering the hotel lobby and the bar are nice, clean and staff are friendly. The restaurant seemed comfortable enough as well, alth... Read more

Visited Zen Spa for a well deserved treatment. Wasn't impressed by the reception area could do with a little TLC; wicker chairs/table not very homely and the throws were a bit tatty. Filled out the usual form; met Sarah who was lovely and friendly. The massage was absolutely lovely; the right pressure was applied; I felt great afterwards. The facial was also very enjoyable, my skin felt as soft as silk afterwards. Thanks Sarah I will definitely return.
