This is my third stay at a Komaneka Hotel but my first stay at Monkey Forest. My expectations were exceeded and we had friends with us who have travelled the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels and they said that Komaneka Monkey Forest was the best hotel they had stayed in. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are gorgeous and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Every thing that you could possibly want is provided, right down to personal insect repellent and lighting a candle and a mozzi... Read more

The hotel was in the middle of monkey forest street which made it easy for us to have a taste of ubud in just two days. the rooms were amazing and secluded. I honestly felt like i hit the jackpot by finding and staying in this hotel. would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud.

The hotel is meticulously maintained and staff are extremely attentative, predicting every need. The hotel is well located in the heart of Ubud yet it is quiet and the gardens and pool setting are a perfect place to relax away from the traffic and hub hub beyond the hotel. I recently stayed at this property from 2 to 6 June with my family of two adults and two boys aged 11 and 7. The friendly and caring staff are what sets this property apart from the many resorts I've stayed in over the years. They each greet you warmly (from the reception staff, restaurant staff, gardening staff, etc) when they meet you, and when you return from any outing, they welcome you "Home". Very welcoming Staff, extremely helpful in determining top activities to do in Ubud, they offer transportation to other Komaneka hotels within the area with more facilities since this branch is the smallest in Ubud (least facilities). They also offered a la carte breakfast (I expected a buffet) with custom menus per guest. I'd say a very suitable hotel for couples and family given the atmosphere.

Didn't expect this level of tranquility and beauty in the busy Monkey forest street. You are literally on one of Ubud's busiest streets but as you walk into the hotel you suddenly feel far into the forest and rice fields. The service is amazing and staff is so kind. The owners of the Hotel are Indonesian and for me this is another reason why i would choose this hotel over the other good ones.

Our room has a private pool, a view to the small river valley which is really a jungle. The coffee and tea serving spot is beside our pool, with a table and seating for 4. Stayed at a pool villa in July for 2 days. Friendly staff and super location since you are walking distance to all the restaurants you can handle. At this price point there is a lot of competition and for the money I would suggest Royal Pita Maha just a couple of km out of Ubud with a free shuttle. So private there that you could walk about nude if you wanted and it is spectacular. I would give this one a 90%. If you value walking then you might go higher???

This was our second stay at the beautiful Komaneka at Monkey Forest and it was again blissful and relaxing. The amazing thing about this boutique hotel is how quiet it is in the grounds once you enter off the road. The gardens are kept in top condition and have a number of interesting plants. The facilities, pool, restaurant, spa, art gallery and afternoon tea are all well presented and lovely. Our suite was magnificent and really luxurious with a paddy field view. I have stayed in many hotels(luxury and others) on 5 continents and have yet to experience the attention to detail and overall experience that we had at Komaneka at the Monkey Forest. Everyone knows your name and greets you as such. The rooms are impeccable, the restaurant excellent and the staff the stars of the show. Every single one of them is focused on giving you the best possible experience you can have. If I am ever back in Ubud, this is where I will stay. Highly recommend.

This month I visited Bali for the 5th time, but it was my first stay at the komaneka monkey forest. We arrived after 24 hours of near sleepless travel, and were greeted by the cheerfully accommodating Komaneka staff. The rooms are beautiful and super clean...the bed was so comfortable and the sheets were smooth...ahhh... :) there is a large, deep, soaking tub, (separate large shower big enough for a party) and the frangipani bath salts melted away the weariness of our travels... room service is... We think this was our twelfth stay at the Komaneka and in the same room we have stayed in for years. There has been some refurbishment (including a television which we probably didn't need) but we have a wonderful view of the rice paddy; a delightful balcony with daybed and table. The staff are as always beyond nice. They treat us with such kindness (extending this time to a birthday cake!) and ensuring that we are at all times very comfortable and safe both inside the hotel and outside. We ... Read more

We stayed at Komaneka at Monkey Forest as a family of four during a get together holiday with our friends. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to main attractions in Ubud, no need for a car, everything is within easy walking distance. The hotel and all of the staff, from airport pick up to room service, have been wonderful during our stay. Absolutely cannot fault anything. The hotel grounds are amazingly relaxing and quiet, despite being in a very central location. One of the highlight... Read more

Our fourth Monkey Forest and tenth total Komaneka holiday over last 6 years. We normally have 5 nights each time before heading to the busy West Coast. The rooms, food and service are impeccable. I had three massages at the spa and can highly recommend as they were genuine massages not body rubs. If you are looking to spend a bit extra to spoil yourself this is the place in the middle of Ubud. Transport around town was supplied by the hotel if it was raining or you didn't feel up to walking. This place is brilliant. The staff treat you like royalty and tell you this is your Bali home, the food is magnificent and the location in Ubud is really central to everything. We picked this place purely by chance and have fallen in love with it. One last thing, all four Komaneka resorts are owned and operated by the Balinese so the money stays in Bali. Love that as well. You are able to use the facilities of all four resorts as well, so you can have each meal in a different location every day.... Read more

We chose this resort as the hub for our explorations in and out of Ubud after reading the reviews. What a great experience it has turned out to be. First of all, the location is superb. The resort is close to all amenities - shops, restaurants and bars etc, and yet we get to enjoy the absolute tranquility once entering the resort. The room is spacious and fully equipped, including small things such as adaptors which in my view isn't a usual feature in a 4 or 5 star hotel. There is a lovely 'ou... Read more

Yes it's in a great location. Yes they are lovely rooms. But it's the staff and little things they do that make this place an amazing place to stay. It's the little side tables brought over to you at breakfast to put your hand bag on. It's the staff having a chat to you at breakfast, sincerely wanting to know what you have planned and that you are having a good time. It's saying "welcome home Ibu " every time you come back from shopping or a walk. It's the farewell water and cookies. It's all th... Read more

Stayed here a few years ago now however it is one of the best places my husband & I have ever stayed at in Bali. The staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Always acknowledging us leaving and arriving and knowing us by name. Food was always delicious and the spa treatments were lovely. We happened to be staying there whilst it was Nyepi Day and spending the day in our beautiful villa with our own pool was amazing. I would definitely want to stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location on Monkey Forest Road close to shops, restaurants etc. It's a serene and tranquil retreat with a forest backdrop and lush well maintained gardens filled with birdlife. Our Suite Room was spacious modern and well decorated. It was serviced twice daily and overlooked the rice paddy so very quiet and peaceful. The staff are amazing.Their attention to detail... Before this last trip to Bali, I decided it would be my last. After three visits in as many consecutive years I thought enough Bali-did that....that was before my stay at Komaneka Monkey Forest. I'll be back next year. First - location is prime. Up the road is the local morning market-food and stuff plus Ubud Palace where dance performances are held. Down the road is the Monkey Forest itself and a terrific restaurant called Three Monkeys. The staff-outstanding. It seems they've dedicated their ... Read more

By far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff here are impeccable. They make a point to remember your name and greet you warmly every time you leave/enter the hotel. Asking about your day to see if they can enhance your Ubud experience in any way. It's almost like being at a friends house, a friend who has a very well groomed garden area and an amazing pool. Location was perfect, we were in the middle of the hustle and bustle but you would never guess as the grounds are quite ... Read more

Me and my wife went there after the great reviews. It is in the middle of a busy area, but once you go inside, it all calms right down. It was a very high class evening for an extremely good price. Best of all the food. My wife had the pork ribs with pineapple and courgette. To die for. Service was great, reserved and sincere. Our best night in Bali so far. We will be back again.

We have just spent five nights in this wonderful hotel. It,s the smallest of the Komaneka group of hotels in Bali. This is what made it so special. It,s located off the very busy main road in Monkey Forest but once pass the reception area the gardens and pool area was very quiet and so relaxing. The breakfast was served at your table and the choice was amazing and you had a choice of American, Indonesian and with the American you got a basket of pastries. We chose this place because we wanted to be in the town itself so we could walk to restaurants, shops, temples etc. The driveway goes back a fair distance from the road to the entrance of the hotel. We had prearranged pickup at Denpasar Airport - instructions to meet driver were crystal clear and we had no issues. Get out of bed early to experience the Monkey Forest before the busloads of tourists overwhelm the place and kill the vibe. I would avoid Ubud in summer period. We had pleasure of visiting Ubud back in the early 1990s and it was a peaceful amazing place with small crowds and friendly people. Well the friendly people are still there but not the small crowds. The buses clogging streets, gangs of camera touting tourists on package trips, etc. have absolutely soured the place. Having said that if y... Read more
