This is my third stay at a Komaneka Hotel but my first stay at Monkey Forest. My expectations were exceeded and we had friends with us who have travelled the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels and they said that Komaneka Monkey Forest was the best hotel they had stayed in. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are gorgeous and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Every thing that you could possibly want is provided, right down to personal insect repellent and lighting a candle and a mozzi... Read more

The service was exceptional and the attention to detail was amazing. The hotel was in the middle of monkey forest street which made it easy for us to have a taste of ubud in just two days. the rooms were amazing and secluded. I honestly felt like i hit the jackpot by finding and staying in this hotel. would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud.

The the customer service was magnificent during the entire stay. the breakfast included a wide range of choices and was fresh and delicious again the customer service again was excellent. I'll definitely be coming back here with my family to share the Experience and the lovely surrounds of Ubud. Suitable for honeymooners, older families and solo travelers... Read more

We spent three nights in Komaneka at Monkey Forest and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting and excellent service. The hotel is meticulously maintained and staff are extremely attentative, predicting every need. The hotel is well located in the heart of Ubud yet it is quiet and the gardens and pool setting are a perfect place to relax away from the traffic and hub hub beyond the hotel. As mentioned by other reviewers Komoneka have four hotels in and around Ubud and you are free to use the ... Read more

I recently stayed at this property from 2 to 6 June with my family of two adults and two boys aged 11 and 7. The friendly and caring staff are what sets this property apart from the many resorts I've stayed in over the years. They each greet you warmly (from the reception staff, restaurant staff, gardening staff, etc) when they meet you, and when you return from any outing, they welcome you "Home". They took the trouble to know our names, and greeted us individually each time. The manager notice... Read more

Very welcoming Staff, extremely helpful in determining top activities to do in Ubud, they offer transportation to other Komaneka hotels within the area with more facilities since this branch is the smallest in Ubud (least facilities). They also offered a la carte breakfast (I expected a buffet) with custom menus per guest. I'd say a very suitable hotel for couples and family given the atmosphere.

Didn't expect this level of tranquility and beauty in the busy Monkey forest street. You are literally on one of Ubud's busiest streets but as you walk into the hotel you suddenly feel far into the forest and rice fields. The service is amazing and staff is so kind. The owners of the Hotel are Indonesian and for me this is another reason why i would choose this hotel over the other good ones.

What an unusual experience. They are excellent at making you feel important. I believe they feel we are important. The grounds are amazing, with a feel of Kauai. Nature growing to large proportions. Our room has a private pool, a view to the small river valley which is really a jungle. The coffee and tea serving spot is beside our pool, with a table and seating for 4. We also have pool loungers for two. Tonight, we were swimming and while getting out of the pool, our 6 year old fell back int... Read more

My husband and I travelled to Bali late May, staying in Ubud for 3 nights and Seminyak for 9 nights. This was our 7th trip to Bali and although we had visited Ubud numerous times, we had never stayed there. I love Trip Advisor so I spent many a day and night researching the best places to stay. Everyone has a different criteria but ours was definitely location. My husband needs to be amongst the no remote villa's for us! We could not have picked a better location! Right in the... Read more

We were enticed by photos but the real-life experience was even more beautiful. Our accommodations included a private pool, a spacious patio, and a large bathroom with in-ground tub. The food at the hotel was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are green, peaceful, and quiet. Overall it was an extremely pleasant place to call home in Ubud. My daughter and I stayed at the Komaneka at Monkey Forest. The staff was amazing! Upon learning about my daughter's dietary restrictions, she had personalized menus each day! We were welcomed home every day (by name) and the staff was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable. The rooms were nicely appointed and turned down each day. This is a great hotel for couples, I will certainly be back with my wife.

We booked Komaneka Monkey Forest after reading the great reviews of this place. The staff are always happy to please you for anything. Made a special note of my being vegan and always made sure I had something to eat at breakfast and tea. The rooms are brilliant, the location is great too. Lots of good restaurants are within walk-able distance and the ubud market is also very close.

Great hotel in the middle of Ubud. The staff were very friendly assisting with booking of restaurants and shuttles, and the rooms were big and clean. We stayed in a villa with a pool and found it to be very private and relaxing. The breakfast menu was extensive and had options suitable for all ages including our 2yo. Complimentary afternoon tea was perfect for us as our 2yo had her nap time. The complimentary shuttle service to parts of Ubud that were just beyond walking distance was a great... Read more

The Komaneka has everything you would usually expect of a resort - open-air restaurant, spa, infinity pool, etc. What makes it different from others is its very small size, allowing for a secluded, quiet atmosphere that makes you feel like you're relaxing in your own home. We were also surprised by the friendly and personalized service. The staff practically bent over backwards to help us with anything we needed, arrange activities, etc. Also nice that there is no extra charge for room servi... Read more

Stayed at a pool villa in July for 2 days. Friendly staff and super location since you are walking distance to all the restaurants you can handle. At this price point there is a lot of competition and for the money I would suggest Royal Pita Maha just a couple of km out of Ubud with a free shuttle. So private there that you could walk about nude if you wanted and it is spectacular. I would give this one a 90%. If you value walking then you might go higher???

As a family of 2 adults and 2 teens, we stayed here in 2 rooms for 3 nights. We had just spent 2 frantic days in Hong Kong, and following our stay at Komaneka, we were off to spend 7 nights in Sanur. Everything has already been said about the perfect location on a busy road, and the haven of tranquillity it provides, my only regret is not staying longer here at Komaneka in Ubud, there's so much to see and do, it's a great base for so much, the choice of places to eat is just brilliant. Family stayed in 2 separate pool villas. Quiet nice resort. Lovely staff. Nice landscape. Good location in town (however, personally I did not like the town of Ubud...certainly not very pedestrian opinion). Rooms are large and well-appointed and comfortable. Pool in-room was nice. If I'm being Diva picky...some issues: 1. Rooms are form over function...some just irritating features...esp in the oversize bathroom (with toilet that seems private but is not; with sunken roman-... We spent 3 nights with Komaneka at Monkey Forest in July 2016, and it was simply great! Komaneka has a total of four different resorts in Ubud, and the Monkey Forest one is the original (and oldest). The fact that it is the oldest does not show, and the location is perfect for those visiting Ubud for only a few nights and want to experience Ubud town, its surroundings and the Monkey Forest. Ubud has changed a lot over the past 15 years with culture and tradition giving way to more tourists, fancy shops, and higher prices. This is why it's important to distinguish hotels like Komaneka whcih merge the tradition with a modern touch and compliment it with great attention to detail and superb service. Once you pass the reception area you are in an oasis of tranquility far away from the bustling street. Rooms are in modern Bali style with attention to detail and high standard. To illustr... We started our holiday in Bali at Komaneka MF and even though we stayed in a number of hotels in Bali, all top hotels, we never experienced a place like this. The atmosphere is special and it is the fantastic staff that makes it special. Thank you Komaneka MF staff!! The hotel is small which makes you feel like home. The rooms are just super and the SPA is top class. Breakfast also top class. The Best we had In Bali.
