The Alaya resort in Ubud is an amazing place to stay, we had a girls trip of six. Staff excellent, food excellent, setting excellent, location excellent (central close to supermarket, restaurants and shops, fantastic coffee . We had a late flight and they provided us with an extension of our check out to 6pm, free of charge. The nightly live music was of a high standard and the bar was a great place to land to listen. Spa is a must, best rooms I've ever experienced. I would recommend a first or... Read more

This was our first stop and it was amazing. Staff were more than happy to help. All meals at the restaurant were to die for ! Room made you feel like you were in another world - would recommend a room with a bath. Construction is starting so we stayed away from the pool but can't help that. Live entertainment at night in the restaurant. Walking distance to Mamma Mia the best pizza shop and right around the corner from the monkey forest.

The service provided by all staff at this hotel was outstanding. Centrally located with restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Few minutes walk to Monkey Forest. Great spa treatments. The hotel had some extension construction work happening which could be heard from room however did not affect the quality of the stay and service provided by the hotel. (expected to complete July/Aug). When I queried about it I was immediately offered a complimentary massage/meal. The great service from the st... Read more

We had a fabulous stay at the Alaya Resort in Ubud. The staff were very friendly and accommodating from the moment they picked us up from the airport and the resort itself is beautiful. We LOVED our room and the big comfy bed and of course the very impressive breakfasts served complimentary each morning. Unfortunately unbeknownst to us when we booked there was construction going on next door as they are expanding the resort that started early and finished late. It also made sitting by the pool... This hotel is well within my top ten! Steeped around masses of cultural history and a stones throw from the main shopping districts. Not to mention that the Monkey Forrest and several other main attractions in Ubud are close by. The Alaya has it all, fantastic food, some of the best I've had in Bali! The rooms are absolutely stunning; brand new, huge, and all have their own unique view. Fixtures and fittings as well as the overall designs of the room are astounding, there's even a spa; although ... Read more

I stayed there for 4 days with friends and we were quite pleased with the decor, combining contemporary and classic Balinese, the location in the middle of town and excellent food. Breakfast menu was quite inventive, including western and Indonesian dishes. The Dala spa was excellent and the entire staff friendly and helpful. We had rooms on the ground floor--numbers 4,5,6--with patios. It was a delight to return here after a busy day of touring.

We stayed seven nights, and I must say that everything was wonderful at the Alaya Resort. The decor in the room is very nice, and it was impeccably clean. Every single staff member greeted us with a smile. I loved walking throughout the resort, and eating breakfast in the open air dining area. Each dish was so delicious, and the service top-notch. I give Alaya 5 stars. Thank you Alaya for making us feel like royalty, and we can't wait to return.

We have just finished a 4 night stay here. First the good points, we stayed in an Alaya suite room No.136, the room was lovely, had a front door and patio doors leading onto a terrace which overlooked the pool, large bath tub, big rain shower, huge comfortable bed. All the staff were lovely, always greeted you with a nice smile, nice breakfast, nice grounds, lovely big open reception area. Now the bad, we had 2 major issues here. First We arrived at 10pm and were shown to our room No.132, ... Read more

Everything was absolutely perfect during our stay: ammenities, facilities, staff, restaurant, room, etc... except internet access which it doesn't match up to this impressive hotel. It's necessary to improve the conection.

The hotel is super clean, the room are spacious and amazing, the SPA massages are out of this world, the food at the hotel restaurant is so good that we didn't want to try a different place. The attention to details, the respect, the personalized service and the warmth we received from employees are second to none. The perfect home away from home.

The Alaya is a great hotel in Ubud. It is centrally located on a busy street so there is life and activity, but not right in the heart of the main tourist thoroughfare to give you a headache. The rooms are well appointed, clean and modern. A small team of housekeeping staff comes by every evening to provide a turn-down service and stock up on bottled water. The staff across the whole hotel are all well trained, polite, discreet yet friendly. Service here is impeccable and very much comparable to... Read more

Everything is perfect about this place. Courteous staff, beautiful ambiance, amazing pool, located right in Central Ubud. Walking distance to all the major attractions and restaurants. The rooms were well decorated in Balinese style. Overall a memorable stay. (Stayed in June 2015)

Waiting for more than 30 minutes to checking in was actually not a good start because the room was not ready yet, although it was 2PM. finally left my suitcase Got the room that seems just renovated, with construction dust at the shower's corner, and the door was stuck to open and close. And people still working on the construction downstairs to make noise. Breakfast was very limited with ala carte. Please do not put and fold the used pool towel while nobody watching, so guest wouldn't re-us... Read more

Perfect and beautifully appointed would describe Alaya in our experience. A great place to wind down and recharge, we wanted for nothing. Our rooms were uber comfortable and the bath luxurious, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Both Petani and Manisan restaurants presented beautiful food that was tasty and generous, service without fault. DeLa Spa was soothing and relaxing. Overall this is a place i would recommend to all and i know we will return to.

Simply perfect. Our Stay at Alaya exceeded all our expectations. Excellent hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Very good value for money (plenty of luxury features at mid-range price). Located in a central position (next door to Yoga-barn). Hotel offers built-in electric adapters in the room (very handy feature). For late return flights, (after check-out) guests are offered free use of the superb Hotel Spa, to shower and change clothes ... Read more

We came to Ubud after three days in a Bond Villain type villa with staff. We were prepared for a let down but have been very pleased with the hotel, the staff and the service levels here. Good points - Room quality is very good. We were given a suite upgrade as we travelled with kids which is always going to tilt your view to the positive. The room quality is as good as any we have stayed in before (W hotel, Shangri-la, Marriott) with some minor issues. Water pressure is great and the wat... Read more

I spent three night at Alaya and the experience was very good. The staff are very friendly and the room is very nice. The restaurants at the hotel serve good food with live music at night. However, we would have liked more options for breakfast. The locations is excellent, a walking distance from Ubud market and the monkey forest.

With the construction works, which had led to many negative comments here, now complete the Alaya Ubud can rightly claim to be the best quality hotel in central Ubud. The staff are totally customer focused from security, housekeeping, food and drink servers and front of house. The spa is world class. This comes at a cost and will not be for everybody's budget but still delivers outstanding value. We stayed in a suite with super facilities, perfect for a couple with a showpiece open plan st... Alaya is a nice presented resort in the busy city centre of Ubud. They are currently doing maintenance on the pool with a jackhammer until November 2nd and the gardening team have been whipper-snipppering the entire resort all morning. There is absolutely no peace to be found here so I'm looking to move hotels ASAP.

I have stayed in Ubud a number of times but the location made the Alaya my favourite place to stay. Access to Monkey Forest and Jalan Hanoman where there are many cafes, shops and restaurants was easy on foot, which was great as the roads in Ubud can get quite congested by car. We enjoyed great quality sleeps in the soft and comfortable bed and the bath and shower were very luxurious. Our rooms had a lovely balcony that was perfect for lounging on early evening or after breakfast. Manisan restau... Read more

I had a wonderful night in Alaya's magnificent ubud resort. I arrived late and was accommodated (upgraded) at a generous discounted rate. A beautiful sleep followed by a big, tasty Balinese breakfast and fresh juice (on the house) made the stay enjoyable. The coffee was on point! I was provided with the highest quality of service and the facilities (pool) were fantastic and luxurious. I was generously allowed to check out late without penalty, which was appreciated. Wonderful stay. One of the prettiest settings, and rooms, that I have stayed in. Included breakfast was superb. Felt awkward having young children there (2 under 5) because it is so peaceful and serene that normal child-play seemed a bit raucous, and I worried that they might be disturbing other guests. (Has more of a honeymoon/spa-like vibe) But staff were lovely and always made them feel welcome. Staff didn't seem super knowledgeable about local sites and restos but always made every effort to...
