We (Father, 45 years & two grown-up kids) stayed here recently for 5 days - really liking Lembongan, and to learn surfing with the excellent gang at NewBro Surfing. We totally enjoyed our stay in Lembongan overall, and in Batu Karang - though left the place with a bit mixed feelings. The hotel with its fantastic location, and good layout has incredible potential - but unfortunately it does not fully live up to it. There are lots of positives that we enjoyed - Accommodation overall - we had Vil... Read more

Transferred to this hotel from another due to other accommodation not being suitable. Although we were not expected the staff very quickly organised rooms for us and had us all settled comfortably. There were 5 of us staying here for a week to attend a wedding on Lembongan. I have visited Bali many times before and always find the Balinese hospitality fantastic. In this case we were not disappointed. The Manager of this Resort is on first name basis with every guest and does all he can to h... Read more

Very nice accommodation on Lembongan island. The whole property is on a steep hill so you'll have to do some walking. The restaurant was nice but happy hour only includes a few drinks per day. The 2 upper pools are nice. Overall it's a really great choice.

We originally booked an airbnb on the island and we weren't impressed at all (to put it lightly). Thank goodness Batu Karang had one 1-bedroom villa available for our 5 night stay in the area. The switch saved our trip. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable, accommodating, convenient hotel. We're convinced it's the best on the island. This Hotel is very good for the island's standard. The Villas are amazing and very well decorated, each one with a nice balcony with great views is you are in the upper rooms (above Villa 4). The food is good but expensive. You HAVE to have a drink on "The Deck" is the best chill out balcony bar that I've ever been.

Stayed 3 nights with my wife. Great genuinely friendly service provided by obviously well trained staff. We stayed in a villa and later a room, due to availability. Both were great and to be honest I'm not sure which I'd choose next time. In both, you could check the surf from your balcony. For surfers it's a 5 min walk to the beach you can paddle out to "playgrounds" reef from. For those who like the best, this definitely also had the best restaurant and bar on the island and seemed to be the g... Read more

We originally booked an Airbnb and couldn't stomach staying there as it was dirty, scary and in the middle of nowhere. We checked out of the Airbnb and checked into the last available villa here at Batu Karang. BEST DECISION EVER!!!! The staff, views, food, villas and service were all top notch. We enjoyed this stay combined with our experiences on the island the most out of all others on our 30 day trip to Bali.

Can't fault Batu Karang. From the the time you are met at the boat before departing Sanur until the time you leave everything meets what you are hoping for from food to day spa to romantic get away. 5 minute walk to the beach where you paddle out to playgrounds reef and lacerations, for those there for a good surf trip. Great breakfast with real coffee and great also for sunset cocktails. Well worth the money and will not disappoint.

And - most importantly - everything worked (ok, the pickup in Ubud was 30min late...but hey, it's Bali). + No need to carry your luggage to and from the boat, all is organized! + They work with Rocky Fast Cruise +/- not cheap, but absolutely worth the price I can absolutely recommend Batu Karang!

My partner and I visited the restaurant last night for dinner. The standard of food was like no other I experienced on the island. The fish we ordered was cooked beautifully and tasted delicious. The service was a little slow, but this is the only fault I could find with the restaurant. The views of the beach were lovely. It's definitely priced on the higher end, but the quality of produce is well worth it. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely night.

This is a really nice property. The property itself is on a steep slope and very vertical. It is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. We checked in here tonight for the first night of our honeymoon and I feel like we are on display. I stayed here 10 years ago when it first opened and was blown away. The room I was in had spectacular views and 100% privacy. A rare treat. Today our first room was lovely but we could see right into the restaurant and were no where near a pool (except for the one in the middle of the restaurant) the second room feels like a concrete bunker on top of a tree house. We even asked if we could pay to ... Read more

Had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights in the one bedroom villa. Absolutely flawless - amazing property and staff. Big thank you to Jonathan, Betut, Supir and so many others for making our stay memorable.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the resort was absolutely incredible. The view from our one bedroom villa and from the restaurant and deck bar was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were wonderful and the facilities were great. right on the beach and close to a couple other restaurants and shops. There were only a couple of things that made our stay just short of perfect: 1. No room service: The room and balcony has an incredible view and it would be amazing to have breakfast or even a limited ... Read more

After having had a lovely stay here in 2015 we came back this year since we felt we didn't have enough time the first time. The hotel has an awesome setting with to die for views. The first few days this time round we had a few moments where we felt the service and overall quality of the 'experience' had taken a downturn however after a chat with the manager and the owner things improved considerably. It showed that they truly care about bringing guests the best experience possible and this is ... Read more

Love the resort. Used the golf buggies to go up to our room :-). The "Bowl of Goodness" at breakfast is the go! As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no beach, but a few minutes walk away is a small cove. The fitness centre has free weights. The staff go well and beyond to make your stay extraordinary.

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The room, grounds, pools and restaurants were all beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff was warm and friendly, and helped us arrange everything from boat transfers and activities around the island, to a private snorkeling trip. The food was very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is located on a pretty steep hill, and although we chose to walk most of the time, the hotel does provide a buggy to take guests up and down for those less ... Read more

We had a very happy stay at Batu Karang and will be sure to return next year. We stayed with two young children aged 5 years and six months and found the layout of the resort to be no trouble at all. We stayed at the top of the resort near the bar pool and there was always a golf buggy available to take us up or down - in fact we had to discourage our 5 year old from taking advantage of this service too often! The bar pool was generally quiet and while we spent most of our time at the larger poo... Read more

My partner and I enjoyed a great meal at Batu Karangs restaurant. The staff were super friendly when greeting us, and the service was incredibly fast. The view whilst enjoying our meal is defiantly something to wright home about. After our meal, while we waited for out taxi home, the manger Rahmat graciously engaged us in conversation and was extremely friendly and was more then happy to assist us with any needs. I would highly recommend this venue to eat at, you will be well looked after. ... Read more

My partner and i had 5 nights at Batu Karang in Villa 5 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such an oasis to get off the boat and be shown around the quiet resort and heavenly room after the manic streets of Seminyak where we stay earlier. The outdoor shower and bath are amazing and the pools were great. The room is traditional style - beautifully done we couldn't really fault it. Happy hour down on the deck has the best cocktails on the island. Breakfast we had the bowl of goodness everyday.... Read more
