The Fateh Prakesh Palace hotel is a beautiful place to stay with a stunning view of Lake Pichola which we were lucky enough to have from our room. The staff were very attentive and always willing to help. At one stage the attentiveness was slightly stifling which we put down to our being possibly the only guests at the hotel at the the time of our stay! It seemed as though they were trying to outdo each other to be hospitable. We didn't mind...imagine if had been the opposite! We note previous ... Read more

In Fateh Prakash Palace, you really feel in a "Palace". You imagine easily how the Maharaja's lived here. We got 2 beautiful large and clean rooms with spectacular views of Lake Picholla. Both sunsets and sunrises are excellent. Specially ours was with additional sitting room overlooking the lake. Yes, there is a "price" you pay for being a part of a real palace, specially in bathrooms, old keys in doors etc. For me it's part of the package and does'n effect my enjoy from the place. Some inconv... Read more

The location is very unique. The hotel is inside the complex of City Palace which in itself is a big tourist attraction. The hotel is very big and even transfer to the swimming pool were by Golf cart. On arrival to the hotel the reception is very good. The rooms are very clean and my room had a lake view. If you are standing outside the reception of the hotel the lake view is "Wow" and so from the hotel terrace. The boating is near by and hotel provides a free drop. Kindly note, that from this b... We traveled to this beautiful hotel in the last week of May,2016..the service & the staff were right there with the best available, the view from the rooms as well as the restaurant were breathtakingly good...Good breakfast spread & tasty food otherwise..Can't say the same about the rooms though..For the palace expectations, some of the rooms were quite small & not a great centralized air conditioning as well..I was lucky though as I had a split a/c in my room.. The hotel has no pool of its own ... Read more

We stayed at this hotel to experience palace. But we did not get the experience of one. swimming pool is at very far distance, actually it is in another hotel of the group. Separate bed is compulsory if child age above six year. for that we were charged about 60% of the room charge. Yes, 60% of the room charge for extra bed. Food is average but very expensive. Only positive thing about this hotel is fantastic view and important sightseeing points are around the hotel only. Will not stay here ag... Read more

Everything felt right about this property. The value one gets when compared to the so called luxury 5 stars is the differentiating factor. We were given 2 adjoining rooms and the room in general and the views from the balcony were simply amazing. As with most boutiques the service in general is average but regardless this place is a winner. Special shout out to Rahul who went out of his way to enhance our experience.

Maharaja must have thought something before developing his palaces into 5 star hotel properties located in heart of Udaipur. Well, September in Udaipur is hot during daytime. But you can not have everything going for you. That is where this extremely well located and heritage hotel works it's charm. The staff are friendly and helpful. They welcome you in typical fashion with smile on their faces. Rooms are brilliant and well maintained by housekeeping. The restaurant "Sunset Terrace" serves go... Read more

Situated by the lake side , Fateh Prakash Palace is a place worth staying. It is located inside the City Palace campus with golf cart and speed boat facilities. This saves the tourists of any added cost of travelling to City Palace which is the most visited tourist spot of Udaipur. The boat facility provides a beautiful experience of the lake. The Hospitality of the staff was of the highest standard. The hotel strongly recommended for honey mooners

First off, the staff are wonderful. To note, however, we booked this hotel via the hotel website and most, if not all, of the website images are of the adjoining, sister hotel. The dovecote rooms at Fateh Prakash are dated, consistent with hotel that had its heyday in the 1950s and 1960s. The room we were given bore no resemblance to any image on the website.....a small, single panelled window with faulty blinds and a bedside lamp which gave off electric shocks (though remedied......with tape)... The hotel did not meet expectations in a number of ways, but two stand out. First, the rooms are in dire need of renovation/updating. The common areas, however, were beautiful. Second, the bar and restaurant staff had no concept of service. I have to assume that management does not set customer service standards. Staff would completely ignore us until finally confronted with a loud "can we order?!". Then, the attitude was terrible. My friend and I were completely baffled having experienced only ... Read more

I came here with my husband when we arrived in Udaipur, I would definitely recommend. - really nice staff, super helpful and spoke perfect English - rooms are clean and spacious - great views onto the lake, especially of sunset, a must do in Udaipur - going round the city palace in the complementary golf buggy is awesome.
