This is probably one of the worst resorts associated to Sterling (not that they are great otherwise). The booking process is painful, the rooms are tiny and the whole property itself seems congested. During our trip, the swimming pool was under repair,so noisy and dusty. Food was mediocre, service was ok, activities dull. Do not recommend this resort!

Woods n Spice is the latest addition to the Sterling Holidays resort network. An Associate Resort in the Sterling Holidays chain, Woods n Spice is located near the perimeter of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The location is little difficult if one is driving .One you reach, the room, ambiance, food and the staff are very good but restaurants at walk away distance. Poor Parking Service.

We had been there for 3 nights, the rooms allotted to us are with lots of issues. No intercom available a list of numbers given to whom you can contact from your cellphone!!! Food was average A la carte was good but buffet dinner quality was very poor and price for that also unjustifiable. The staff is nice and friendly. The only thing that badly needed is to renovate and refurbish the rooms.

1.Overall Place It was nice, everything made of wood. Any person will fall in love with the wooden architecture. But there ends the overall speciality. Nothing more than that is special about the place. 2. Rooms The room allotted to us was not so great. Main Lock didn't work properly, No intercom facility, No secured storage facility in room, olden days TV, limited time hot water for bathing. 3. Restaurant Food was average. Didn't cook vegetarian food separately. (bad for vegetarians) We ... Read more

Undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in Thekkady. Thekkady is a beautiful place, and the presence of this resort added an extra color and flavor quotient to it. Clean and decent rooms, overtly courteous staff, and excellent food, made the stay wonderful and memorable.

The Sterling resort shares its boundary with Periyar Forest. The entire wooden structure of resort camouflages with forest. The day starts and ends with chirping of birds. The Chef Bino Varghese is excellent in hospitality. He makes mouth watering dishes and organizes GLUTEN FREE food with great care. The typical Kerala dishes like Beetroot halwa, Pineapple pachadi, jackfruit bhurjee are just GREAT.

Thekkady became more pleasant and special because of ‚??Woods N Spices‚??. The stay was very cosy and comfortable. I visited during the month of April with my whole family. My elderly parents felt at home. There was absolutely no inconvenience at all. All thanks and all praise to the hospitality extended by each and every staff member. Service Industry needs utmost patience and concern. Here, there was a perfect blend of both. A very special mention about Ms.Tania, the manager. All my family mem... Read more

We visited here in December 2015. Very sorry to say but this is one the low quality property choose by sterling holidays. Rooms are very small and not clean. Washroom in bad condition. Room service ia really pathetic. Local cable network provided to very old model color TV. Overall very bad experience. Swimming pool was not in good condition. Very small parking place. Our stay in woods and spices resort was simply great and a memorable. To begin with, I had to check in early since there was a strike in Idukki district (Munnar and Thekkady belong to Idukki district) and our taxi driver said we need to be in Thekkady by 6 am or as early as possible. I called up woods and spices and they were very cordial and accepted my arrival without any extra charges. I reached by around 7 am and our room was ready. I requested to prepone my complimentary breakfast for that ... Read more

Very picturesque resort in Thekkady. Room interiors are largely wood, smaller than other sterling resorts. The swimming pool is amazing and we spent many hours in it. (chlorine slightly on the higher side). The verandahs of the cottages are lovely to sit and relax in. Restaurant was incredible - i had many special food requests since I have allergies and they accommodated all of them. Very good service overall.

Our holiday stay was extremely good. Room services , cleanliness, Holiday desk services all are very good. I must Thank Mr. Shine Ninan, house keeping executive for excellent services provided. Accidentally, we left one baggage at the reception while we vacated the room, the effort taken by Mr. Shine & the team was extremely good & made necessary arrangements to get my bag safely at my place. I appreciate Mr Shine & entire team for the services provided.

Do not go by the pictures. Some rooms face the pool(which isn't that great either) but some are at a very suffocating location. The food is completely avoidable. We stayed there for one night and wish we hadn't! Look for something else in the same area!

Thekkady itself is a nice quick getaway from a few towns around. I am not sure it is worth a long travel to get here though if you are coming from far off places. This property lives up to what one can expect from a Sterling group of hotels. Staff is very courteous Parking space is limited though but one always gets a spot somehow. Food is great although I prefer experimenting around in other small joints around. I would recommend that only if you are used to Kerala cuisine. Clean rooms Good ... Read more
