We would very happily return to the Savoy, it was wonderful. Staff were helpful with excellent service without being over the top and the historical feeling of the hotel has been capitalised on without turning it into a theme park. We stayed here new years day having travelled up on the hill railway and were warmly welcomed although the staff must have been shattered after a late night the night before, as the structure in the garden paid testament to. We had one of the bungalows and our huge be... Read more

My family and I stayed recently at the Savoy hotel for two nights as a family of five. The hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Unlike the big city hotels, the taj savoy is surrounded by natural wonders, and is small and cosy enough good to remember everyone's name. The staff were helpful and had great service. At night, the staff would set up the fire and bring us hot water bottles for night. The food had a large variety of origin, and the head chef would often come up to our table... Read more

We (a group of six adults and four kids including a baby) just spent four wonderful days at this place. This heritage property deserves better mention both for its wonderful facilities and excellent service by the staff. Every little need of ours was taken care of with alacrity. The room was in great shape and the fireplace (night temperature of 2 deg C) lent a romantic touch with firewood being ceremoniously lit at dusk. The breakfast fare was lavish with local live items like ragi dosa. The c... Read more

The best place in South India for a comfortable holiday stay. The staff is excellent, and understands your needs and requirements before you even ask. The Front Office is ever efficient and the Dining experience is great with each meal. The hotel is more of a resort and the ambience sets you back in the good old British era. Wonderful!

Great place to stay but is it value for money? The food quality in buffet is average but the Chef is wiling to offer different food. The lawns can be made better, apart from the front lawn others are not well maintained. the places is peaceful but I still think is it value for money or is the cost of staying at the brand.

Trip was memorable being Anniversary celebration in Savoy. Facilities, services, arrangements everything was upto the mark rather much more than it. Dining team was very much polite and room services were also very good.

This is described as a 4 star heritage hotel. On arrival the manager gave our group a small welcome speech in rather broken English ( dramatically better that my Hindi!) and charmingly informed us we could have a bonfire in our room. The accommodation is situated in small, individual chalets. We had number 209 which turned out to be a somewhat charmless suite of three rooms fitted out with an odd selection of rather care worn 40/50's brown furniture. The bonfire or open fire was the only form of... Read more

The Taj Savoy has an incredible charm through the spirit of colonial times. The furnishings are mostly from the time and the restaurant and the bar make you feel like in England. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are new and nice. In the room there is a fireplace, which can be lit at cold temperatures. Wonderful stay.

If you are a foreigner looking for a bit of old world India this is the place to go. The main hotel was built in 1829 and a lot of the rooms in 1929. It is in a great setting. The food was good and the rooms are great. The little bar was cute but remember imported alcohol is very expensive all over India and so it is here. If you don't want to spend a lot on alcohol then just drink Indian made beer. It's very good.
