My partner and I were very disappointed with The Imperial as we raised the fact that we had no warm water during our stay without it being fixed. We were also told in one of the bars that they had no cold champagne. During breakfast I was also told there were no ripe mangoes as it wasn't mango season, only to question this and then be served the most beautifully mangoes.

I hosted a meeting for a group of 8. We all stayed at the Imperial Hotel. It was a wonderful hotel with impeccable service and restaurants, not to mention a first rate spa. I would return and recommend it to others who want a sense of British and Indian history. The art work exhibited around the hotel is exquisite. The hotel is not a run of the mill chain or for those chasing points. It is for the guest more interested in experiencing a bit of history, fine dining, and luxurious comfort.

We decided to try the Imperial on a recent trip to Delhi. On arrival we were really pleased. The hotel exudes old world charm and is a really beautiful building. The manager gave me a guided tour on the way to my room and explained some of the history. All the floors and hallways are amazing, furnished with wonderful artwork and great furniture. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms likewise. So the facility is amazing! BUT! We didn't always feel the warm welcome we've been use... Read more

The Imperial sets the standard for superb service. You won't ever have to open a door and they will cater to your every need. The Imperial is located just off Connaught Place just up the street (1 block away) from the Tibetan Janpath Market and across the street from the govt-run Central Cottage Industries. This is important to know if you want to shop as there are many touts who will try to lead you astray. We especially enjoyed the great complimentary breakfast in the atrium of the 1911 re... A wonderfully preserved colonial property in the heart of Delhi. Service is excellent, as is the decor and food. Their bar, the patiala 69 has some wonderful cocktails, especially their signature cocktail section. The hotel has a large collection of colonial medals and other memorabilia like a signed photograph of King George V and queen Mary, a pair of mirrors gifted by them on their india visit, photographs etc. Rooms are nice.

Having stayed here once before many years ago, I looked forward to returning and it didn't disappoint. The Reception area was very differently laid-out ...preferred the old one but everything else was fab. It is as beautiful and atmospheric as ever. Staff are attentive and the array of options for chilling-out plus beautiful food make this a haven of interesting tranquility in the middle of an enormous city, Thank You 'Imperial'!

Everything from the wood lined bookshelves in the bookstore to the 1911 restaurant (there were fancier ones we did not get to try) to the marble floors and painting after painting .. makes you feel like you are in a museum or palace. I stayed for two nights, alone, at The Imperial. This is a luxury hotel, and frankly I would not normally stay in such a place - I tend to think that if I am sleeping most of the time in the hotel, I shouldn't splash out. Mean? Hotels modernize all the time touting new high tech features. The Imperial Hotel is no slouch when it comes to things like in-room Internet -- free and reasonably fast. Its public spaces, banquet halls, conference areas are festooned with lithographs, paintings, of British ( mostly Victorian-era) India, even the odd deer antlers. We stayed here at the start of our month long holiday in India, and it was a wonderful place to arrive in. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, and looked out over the gardens, although the gardens themselves were not in a very good state. The breakfast here was one of the finest we had in India, with a large range of Indian and Western dishes. Service was charming, and the missing star is only because of the slight lack of atmosphere, and the dismal gardens. Highly recommended.

Returned after nearly 15 years, during this period have stayed in many hotels in India but this is as one of the best. Rooms are fabulous, spotlessly clean, luxurious and with modern facilities. The collection of paintings (some originals and others reprints from the owner) throughout the hotel was amazing and is an art gallery! We stayed here twice, each for a few nights. The hotel is impressive from its appearance to its staff. The rooms were nice, but we never got a working hair dryer! Other than the hair dryer, and the fact that the bars in the hotel always closed earlier than we wanted them to, this was a first class property - clean, comfortable and classy!

Competing against world famous franchises, this is Indian hospitality at its best at the price charged. Very large rooms and bathrooms, free buffet breakfast with a crazily large spread, small and personal lobby. Good spa and two delectable restaurants without any overbearing service. No frills but luxury nevertheless. Value for money and relief from impersonal five star culture of Delhi. Very convenient location. If you can tolerate a slight worn out look, this is a great hotel.

The Heritage Suite is one of the finest in the Hotel. The décor is classic British Colonial mixed with modern contemporary, very much reflecting the multi-cultural shifts of this City. The suite is well equipped and the 550 square footage provides ample room - The beautiful balcony over-looking the well manicured gardens adds to the vintage colonial ambience of the Hotel. The Imperial Hotel is well located, within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Connaught Place. It is a magnificent building, surrounded by beautiful grounds and--mindful of security concerns--a tall wall (landscaping mostly conceals the razor wire) and a substantial security presence at each entrance. We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the Imperial. We had an amazing room (269) which offered all the comfort you can expect. Food at all the restaurants is solid to delicious. The big advantageous of this hotel is its location, next door is a metro station and Connaught Place is in walking distance. What was a bit disturbing is the attitude of certain (senior) staff, which I think is totally unnecessary in a hotel of this class.
