The location of the hotel is the best thing about it. The sea is across the road, markets restaurants etc are nearby. Taxis are abundant (this is true for the city in general). We had a room for 3 adults for 4 nights. Even after putting the extra bed, the room was spacious. Our room wasn't a sea-facing one. I assume the rooms which are sea-facing would have a wonderful view. Ask at the reception if they have those available.Staff is polite and helpful. The only minor blot was the breakfast whic... The hotel service is good. I wish, however if you could clean the stairs. The carpet does not look good at all. It needs some shampoo, PLEASE PLEASE!!! The menu in the evening has not changed from last year. Although it has variety of foods I'd suggest to bring in some new dishes.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, front of house were very helpful and polite, the room was comfortable but we found the AC didn't reduce the humidity in the room and it felt a bit damp at times. Breakfast was good and there was a variety of food on offer. We would stay again if we were visiting Mumbai

Had multiple stays at the Ambassador Hotel during March and May 2016 and couldn't rave more about the excellent location this property has - not to forget superior service the hotel staff provided during our stay. Anyone planning to visit SoBo (South Bombay) or even Central Mumbai locations -- this hotel is a perfect fit in terms of proximity to these zones. Marine Drive is like less than 100 meters away from and absolutely enjoyed morning and evening stroll along the queen's necklace. Wind fr... Read more

The hotel is at the most premium location which drove me to book. The hotel staff is very courteous and valet parking is a very nice option. The iconic revolving hotel was under renovation so we couldn't go there. But overall a decent place to stay and explore Mumbai.

It was surely the best choice in terms of connectivity to city, beach and market. It has good spacious rooms, especially on top floors, as you can enjoy scenic beauty of ocean. Good food and courteous staff will add to the list. Overall good experience. Will surely come back!!

1. Fab location 2. Cold, unsmiling front desk whether checking-in/out 3. Rooms are good sized, but thin partition. Conversations flow freely across rooms 4. Below avg toiletries 5. Avg buffet breakfast, comparable to a good 3 star hotel, does not do justice to a 4 star hotel 6. Spartan room, 21" CRT TV!

This hotel was one of the most wanted hotel in Mumbai 20 years back and was famous for its revolving restaurant. It is very conveniently located near Church gate station and quite near to Marine Drive. I went now to show my grand child the revolving restaurant but alas it is not functional now. I was told that it is under renovation and refurbishing.

I have been seeing this iconic hotel since its golden hey days, and always dreamed of one day staying there. It has old world charm of the era passed by. located just 5 minutes walk from Churchgate railway station. Bang in the middle of old money residences and poshest office address in Mumbai. They have maintained it well but the age is showing off. I had experienced their chennai hotel in the past, it was one off the horrible experiences of my life. Rooms are good. Booked into the ambassador for a 2 nights stay as it was beautifully located very near to the sea and amongst everything a person was looking for. The bed quality was firm and good and we had a very restful sleep. This hotel is luxurious and classic. You get a warm welcome when you arrive. The staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. And I slept very well in the comfortable bed. I liked that this hotel has many choices for breakfast: typical Indian, Brittish, pastries, some international food, fruit, yoghurt... This was a first for me in India. I had a very pleasant stay at The Ambassador, Mumbai. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and the Buffet Breakfast was very good. Besides the location is very central and very convenient to get to your place of work if it is in South Mumbai. If you prefer to eat out, there are quite a number of restaurants and eating places on the same street quite close by.

The hotel is situated just two buildings away from the famous marine drive, 10min walking distance to Churchgate and 10min taxi ride to the Gateway of India / Hotel Taj. The only concern was that the toilets don't have jetspray which is a major discomfort. There is no excuse for a hotel in India to not have these. Also the toilet wasn't clean when I checked in hence had to call housekeeping. Didn't try food or any service here hence no comments for that. Room size was good.

Stayed here for 3 days in September and would definitely recommend it. While the rooms are a little dates (old tv, strange 70s looking air con/lighting control panel), it is charming and comfortable. Lobby /Reception area looks fantastic especially in night. Rooms are good clean , looks bit rundown, Teak is used to optimum & looks graceful. The much hyped revolving restaurant is closed, as claimed by management that it will open soon, but could not find any trace of work in progress. Breakfast had variety but lacked taste. Location is good churchgate station & sea front iat walking distance . Too good for the price.
