A lovely tropical resort with open dining rooms and lounges, lovely little self-contained suites with a private open air shower and bathroom. The swimming pool winds around the resort which means you've only got to go outside your room and you can jump in. They provided a lovely after dinner dancing show for our group as well as an introduction to ayuvedic medicine. A very nice, relaxing stay!

Visit duration: 6-May to 9-May (4 days 3 nights) Room: Luxury Pavilion Room (5/5) This type of room is the only room which has an indoor covered washroom. Rest all types of rooms have an open roof washroom, which we were not comfortable with at all. So we chose this room. Even though, this is the lowest costing room, it by no means, is low quality. Amazingly huge room with equally huge washroom. This is the only type of room, where you get your own Jacuzzi in the room. Overall, a brilliant roo... Read more

Everything about Kumarakom Lake Resort was nothing less than exceptional. Be it the food, the coconut water, the staff, the location, it was simple amazing. we took the meandering pool villa where every room had their own entry in the long pool, it was kind of magical to have your evening tea sitting at the pool side in your room and watch the sun set. Must visit for lovers of nature and of course the Kerala massages.

On arrival it seemed the resort might not live up to the price tag and expectations based on other reviews. However gradually the superb service, staff courtesy and friendliness and excellent food changed four opinion. On the range offered in buffets and the food quality and taste as well as service the resort is excellent. Other facilities at the resort are also very good. Wish if the rooms were bigger to accommodate a standard family of four.

I had the unique opportunity to visit this place as an incentive tour with my customers. The place is a retreat for a quick short break and you can pack it with lots of activities. The resort is away from the far reaches of the city life and surrounded by lush green coconut trees on one side and on the other with the backwaters. They have their own small lake where resort guests can do canoeing and paddle boat. The food served is awesome and whilst we were there the chef was happy to accommodate... Read more

There are resorts that claim to be authentic and there are those that actually are! Kumarakom Lake Resort (KLR) is the latter, for sure. The finest thing about this place is their attention to detail at every level. They have a very meaningful broad concept - of delivering an authentic Kerala experience - and have paid attention to every detail to ensure that the broad concept is delivered. Service excellence is at the level that I have experienced in top-end five-star resorts in places li... Read more

We stayed at Kumarakom Lake Resort from 1-3 june. This is a south indian luxury hotel that is rated number 1 on tripadvisor. This was the reason we booked it. The hotel has not been renovated since it opened. The rooms are clean and neat but not 5 star standards. Check in was smooth. The front desk was a little rude explaining the package inclusions ( dont know why!!). This hotel provides 2 water bottles for free. This is unheard of for India 5 star resorts. Food was very good and the chef m... Read more

Beautiful rooms, pools, and all on the lake. Decor is just stunning and overall my stay there was very good. What ruined it was the management staff who failed to do everything in their power to make us happy when there was a mix up on our reservation and boat stay. I expect management at 5 star resorts to pull out a few stops, but they failed to do anything. Other members of staff were apologetic, and this we appreciated.

We were well received by a few beautiful Indian hostesses and with a refreshing welcome drink. Awesome beauty, tranquility, & green all around . I have stayed in more than 50 4/ 5* hotels in my lifetime but this one I can put it among the top 5 !! It is spacious, clean and we had a private pool& zacussi in the "patio" of our room - Perfect for romantic couples and privacy. The sound of tropical birds, water and Indian instrumental music, all added to the tranquility of the place.PURE RELAXATION ! ... The property is on great location, the lake view along with the overall hotel ambience is awesome, well behaved staff and extremely well maintained rooms, it completely justifies the price point..food is good,in-house activities (we tried fishing & pottery) are worth the time. The special highlights were private plunge pool, the pastas and high tea in the lush green garden on the bank of the lake. It is definitely worth staying! Must visit in Kumarakom !

I have recently visited this property. The place is good, rooms are good, property is beautiful...there is no doubt about all that.... The thing which has forced me to give it a poor rating is the way we were welcomed / treated :- * when we entered the hotel, instead of happy welcoming faces we were received by disinterested, rude and arrogant people. They were making us count every penny that they will charge instead of welcoming us. It seemed like they did a really huge favour to us by hav... Read more

Had heard great things about this resort. After spending 3 days, I must say that it is indeed worth the appreciation. Everything in the resort, starting from the rooms, the staff and the food is marvelous. The evening (complementary) boat ride on the lake is a big bonus. Lot of activities for the kids ensures that they are kept busy. Also, got to watch Kalaripayattu (Kerala Martial Arts) during one of the evenings. Its a bit pricey but after the fantastic stay I must admit its money well spent!

Beautiful resort with a vintage feel. The resort's interiors are done up in wood giving it a warm look to the entire resort. The infinity pool overlooks the Kumarakom lake and lounging around the pool side was the best way to unwind. The Kerela cuisine in the sea food restaurant is mind blowing and the fried ice cream in the end is the most recommended desert to close your meal.
