I selected this hotel because I thought it was an old colonial building, which would appeal to my Dad. It was about 18 degrees in the day when we arrived, but quickly went to around 2 degrees at night. For some reason the hotel decided NOT to heat up their only restaurant and as such, the diners who were there were wearing our outside coats in an attempt to keep warm. When i asked for the heating to be put on, it was not possible...I didn't ask why! The second night was the same... Sadly the... Read more

We arrived at 23.30 due to our train being 10 hours late. Not a warm welcome which was very off putting. Saying that the hotel and room was amazing. So beautiful. The porter was very nice and by the time he left us in our suite we felt much better. Very clean. A good breakfast.

As soon as you walk through the door of this mansion house it takes your breath away. From the opulence of the reception area to the beauty of many small and large sitting rooms, you will gaze in wonder at the splendour of the marble floors, the tapestries, the chandeliers and the interesting pictures on the walls. And the bedroom was large and airy, and carried on the theme, but with all the facilities you would expect in a hotel of this class. The food in the Indian restaurant on the top floor... Read more

This hotel seems to be a conversion of two separate houses joined together to make one property - you have to leave the building housing the reception and public areas to reach the bedrooms. Having said that the buildings are really nice and beautifully decorated. My room was quite large with a comfortable bed and an excellent modern bathroom. The restaurant on the ground floor (where breakfast is served) is pretty hopeless despite being clean and modern looking. The egg station is good, but the... Read more

January was very cold and this pretty Rajasthani style hotel was not a snug place to be. The open traditional design meant that to get anywhere from your room, like one of the restaurants, you had to brave the weather, and I even slept in bed socks. The room had heating but the bathroom did not, so washing was a very rushed and uncomfortable affair, not helped by the fact the water was rarely more than tepid. Breakfast was a frustrating letdown in what is designed to be a quality hotel although... Read more

Stayed here as part of a tour. My room was unusual - old style bedroom with a very modern bathroom. The hotel was very charming and the reception areas were gorgeous. We stayed over Christmas and we were visited by santa, had a Christmas buffet and fireworks as part of our stay. It was a lovely suprise and a great evening. Buffet breakfast was excellent and the service was great.

A very warm welcome as an introduction to our two nights spent in this beautiful hotel in a spacious and comfortable room. The service was outstanding. Our son had wanted to arrange a surprise for his mother's birthday. The hotel organized a special table on their terrace with personal entertainment, champagne and a cake for us and our two guests. This in itself was outstanding, but the manager's refusal to accept any payment for this was just unbelievable.............and very much appre... Read more

This is to provide you with feedback and review following our stay at shahpura on Dec9/10 2016. The service was great, the rooms were clean and the breakfast provided lots of choices. I did have an issue with your hotel shop which I would like you to consider(explained below), since it really ruined my image of India and it's people, and particularly your hotel. We had 2 new notes of 2000 Rupees (total 4000 rupees) and wanted to have it changed to smaller denominations. We went to the front ... Read more

This is a lovely property that is misplaced in a residential area. It is clear to see that the hotel was once a residential property that has since been converted to a hotel. the campus has a forced feel as it is contained in residential lots side by side. with that said, the actual hotel, rooms and service was pretty incredible. We were a family of four and were in the rooms suite in the top most floor. we had great views of the neighborhood and had well furnished rooms with comfortable beds. T... Read more

My two stars is for the service (or lack of) at hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and we had a suite which was beautiful and so much room Service was very very poor, we were in India 4 days when they removed all 1,000 and 500 rubies notes so it was hard to tip anyone. All other hotels we were in allowed you to add the tip to the bill but no not this hotel. A young lad ran after my husband to tell him he couldn't put the tip on the bill and held out his hand for his tip to which my hubby ... Read more
