Let me emphasise that this is a review of a meal in the restaurant provided as part of a tour to the region. We were greeted outside by a dance which was great fun followed by an aperitif in a beautiful room. The meal was a mix of waiter service (for starter, dessert and drinks) and a buffet for the main course. The starter was a mix of dishes but especially good. The main course was a great selection of dishes but I didn't have the dessert. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficie... Read more

I guess the title of the review is self explanatory of the hospitality this property offers! I visited this property again during my visit to Jaipur and I must say that the experience that I had for the very first time inclined me to stay here again. The restaurant, RASA, has a variety to offer and the food is delicious. The staff is well behaved & friendly. A lot of other things to look forward to, once staying here.

Great hotel. Pleasent staff. Great entertainment in the roof top restaurant with a nice view. The other restaurant had a good continental choice food was quite good. Outdoor pool and the usual facilities. Internet access was included which is very helpful for travellers.

On two nights running we had appalling service. Fawlty Towers seems like the Ritz by comparison. On both nights the waiteress took for ever to take our order, then came back half an hour later to say one of our orders was not available. Eventually she came with the wrong food. We had returned because the varied menu looked very inviting, if very expensive for Jaipur and we thought the first night's experience was just a glitch, but to have exactly the same experience the second time was distre... What a lovely, higgidly, piggedly traditional style hotel with lattice carvings and decorative touches everywhere. The hotel layout ambles around like a maze each corner offering another surprise. The bedroom we were allocated had an adjacent lounge area, a wonderfully draped 4 poster bed all decorated in a very traditional style.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of our tour of India. Situated in a quiet residential street we heard hardly any traffic noise except for dogs barking occasionally we slept well both nights. The public rooms on the ground floor are very opulent with gilt/gold leaf and marble everywhere and pictures from it's heritage. Our room on the 2nd floor was large with a very comfortable bed and bathroom with large walk in shower. Wifi was free and was available in our room. The automatic light in the bathroom... Read more

Two hours before arriving at Shahpura House we received a message to stay our room wasn't ready due to clients staying on for a further two days - how unprofessional. Our tour operator quickly booked us into the Dera Mandawa. Shahpura House offered us a free meal as compensation. We took them up on their offer to compare the two places. The meal was buffet style served on a cold roof top and we had to pay for the bottle of beer I drank. The welcome we received at Shahpura was cold and the staf... Read more

This is a 20th century small city palace (built in what is now a residential area), that was remodelled in the 80's as a hotel, and has attractive guest rooms (our Shahpura suite had beautiful marble uplit screens, a comfortable bed, and was spacious), and very attractive marble-work throughout. There is an adequate-sized pool, helpful staff on reception with money exchange, 3 restaurants, serving good Indian and western food, and a nice little gift shop, proceeds from which go to the poor of Sh... We stayed here as part of our tour. Shahpura House is a jewel in the middle of Jaipur, providing an oasis of fantastic mogul style decor and opulence although only built in the 1950s. The manager was delightful and we felt most welcome. Bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and spacious. Restaurant staff could have however, been a little more attentive and our room , on the ground floor was noisy as the windows backed onto a kitchen corridor which meant little sleep, which was a shame.

Loved everything about this hotel. Gorgeous public spaces, excellent service, good food. We stayed in the Shahpura Suite which was very spacious and lovely and had all the modern amenities. Great shower. I hated to leave.
