We stayed for a night in April. Nice location, clean rooms, good restaurant. Our room was really large and had a view over the ocean. Everything is in easy walking distance to this hotel - shops, restaurants, fishing nets are a little walk but still within easy distance.

For what you get. I think this hotel is overpriced. There was no hot water at all during our 2 night stay. There was also intermittent Internet. The internet did not work at all on the room, only in the common areas. The restaurant and cleaning staff were nice. The reception staff were unhelpful. We couldn't pay anything via credit card because of some "government tax". We left very disappointed. I'm sure you could stay somewhere else.

We have visited to old light house hotel in March, This was the first time we visited Kerala. We were very much excited and were expecting to explore the best natural spots. My husband had made lots of research on selected 4* and 5* hotels in Koch for our stay, finally he booked this heritage hotel for us. The hotel location was superb, the greenery around the hotel with the beautiful view of Arabian sea was simply breath taking. Hotel staff were very friendly, specially the receptionist Ann Mar... We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the experience. The rooms are adorable! We would highly recommend splurging for the Sea-View room (Sir Robert Suite) which comes with a balcony overlooking the Fort Kochi beach. Rooms are very clean and AC works well. We didn't have hot water, but it wasn't a problem due to the heat. The pool was great and we enjoyed the restaurant on-site as well. Stayed at this hotel for a night. The USP of the hotel is its great location. Its located at the fort Cochin area and is about 10 mins walk to the mail tourist attractions like the Chinese Fishing nets, St Francis Church etc. The property is a heritage property which was the former residence of Sir Bristow from which the hotel gets its name. It has about 15 rooms with most of the rooms garden facing except 2 suites which have a private balcony facing the sea. The entire hotel has wooden interior... Read more

Our family stayed for 1 week, and by far, The Old Lighthouse Bristow Hotel had some of the best service I have experienced in a hotel. It was not only top notch service, but the staff treated you like old friends! Kudos to all the staff throughout the hotel who really made that stay as enjoyable as it was. Just returned from spending a week in lovely Kerala, where we stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. Picked it because it looked nice and had some good reviews, it more than met our expectations. Much better than staying in an anonymous 5 star place - here you get a hotel of real character in a superb location right by the sea. What really sets it apart though is the wonderful staff. This Hotel is a best place to visit in Kerala. although there was a heavy rain and we were worried our trip would get spoil, but the view of arabian sea was mind blowing and photofit. we enjoyed our complete day at hotel with unforgettable memories. Next day we arrange a cab from the hotel and went to Kochi city tour with Kathakali dance show. The food was amazing at Bristow's Bristo, they took bit long to prepare it but output was admirable.

This hotel is a 1920s restored building once used as a residence of Sir Robert Bristow, the British Engineered who built the port of Kochi. It also has a fully restored lighthouse mast from those times. The location of the hotel is right in the old heart of Kochi - Fort Kochi. It's a 10 minute walking distance to the Chinese Fishing nets and a 10 minute rickshaw ride to the other side of Fort Kochi which hosts the Mattanchary Palace and Jew Town. It is a 10 minute walk to the busy road that houses the Chinese Fishing nets, tourist shops etc. It is 5 minutes from St Francis Church and the lanes around it still hold a quaint charm for a unforgettable morning walk. Is it a bungalow? is it a hotel? It is both and an awesome experience. The whole place exudes old world charm. I have stayed only for a night but have already decided that for my next trip to Kochi, it has to be Old Bristow. Location, location, location! Add to that super upkeep of the property, smiling and courteous staff, good food and one has ticked off all the points. All the attractions of Fort Kochi are nearby and sea is just a jump away! I'd say super excellent.

The hotel grounds are very nice, with sea view at most places. Pool also looked nice. Negative point was the service during dinner. We had to wait for unusually long time with slow service. This small heritage hotel does not live up to modern standards and the expectations of the discerning traveler who wants high standards for the relatively high price paid. I think this is the best mid range hotel in Fort Cochin - and a heritage one at that. Apart from the rooms being lovely, the dining room overlooking the sea and the pool being very private it is handy to everything inc good cheap restaurants but its out of the hub and QUIET - unlike the Brunton Boatyard which has the ferry going in and out many times a day right next door.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff were efficient and friendly. The waiting staff were extremely attentive and we were particularly impressed with one young man who spoke English very well and was very helpful. Unfortunately I can't remember his name - I think it began with S - as I wanted to commend him to his manager. Very comfortable beds and pleasant rooms. The swimming pool is not particular enticing, it should really be replaced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
