We stayed for a night in April. Nice location, clean rooms, good restaurant. Our room was really large and had a view over the ocean. Everything is in easy walking distance to this hotel - shops, restaurants, fishing nets are a little walk but still within easy distance.

For what you get. I think this hotel is overpriced. There was no hot water at all during our 2 night stay. There was also intermittent Internet. The internet did not work at all on the room, only in the common areas. The restaurant and cleaning staff were nice. The reception staff were unhelpful. We couldn't pay anything via credit card because of some "government tax". We left very disappointed. I'm sure you could stay somewhere else.

We have visited to old light house hotel in March, This was the first time we visited Kerala. We were very much excited and were expecting to explore the best natural spots. My husband had made lots of research on selected 4* and 5* hotels in Koch for our stay, finally he booked this heritage hotel for us. The hotel location was superb, the greenery around the hotel with the beautiful view of Arabian sea was simply breath taking. Hotel staff were very friendly, specially the receptionist Ann Mar... We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the experience. The rooms are adorable! We would highly recommend splurging for the Sea-View room (Sir Robert Suite) which comes with a balcony overlooking the Fort Kochi beach. Rooms are very clean and AC works well. We didn't have hot water, but it wasn't a problem due to the heat. The pool was great and we enjoyed the restaurant on-site as well. Heads up to spring 2016 travelers, Visocean restaurant is under renovation. Bristrow's Bistro serves e... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for a night. The USP of the hotel is its great location. Its located at the fort Cochin area and is about 10 mins walk to the mail tourist attractions like the Chinese Fishing nets, St Francis Church etc. The property is a heritage property which was the former residence of Sir Bristow from which the hotel gets its name. It has about 15 rooms with most of the rooms garden facing except 2 suites which have a private balcony facing the sea. The entire hotel has wooden interior... Read more

There is nothing like waking up and opening up your doors to a stunning sunrise over the ocean and a lovely breeze. What was there not to love?! Our family stayed for 1 week, and by far, The Old Lighthouse Bristow Hotel had some of the best service I have experienced in a hotel. It was not only top notch service, but the staff treated you like old friends! Kudos to all the staff throughout the hotel who really made that stay as enjoyable as it was. OLH Bristow Hotel was a pleasure. The friendly and courteous staff added the experience to new heights. They even upgraded our room to a more spacious suite with a sea view balcony. The upkeep of the property was very good. Ms Ann at the reception was very helpful in all aspects.

Just returned from spending a week in lovely Kerala, where we stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. Picked it because it looked nice and had some good reviews, it more than met our expectations. Much better than staying in an anonymous 5 star place - here you get a hotel of real character in a superb location right by the sea. What really sets it apart though is the wonderful staff. From the beautiful lady who greeted us when we arrived, to the charming manger, through to the waiting staff in the r... Read more

This Hotel is a best place to visit in Kerala. although there was a heavy rain and we were worried our trip would get spoil, but the view of arabian sea was mind blowing and photofit. we enjoyed our complete day at hotel with unforgettable memories. Next day we arrange a cab from the hotel and went to Kochi city tour with Kathakali dance show. The food was amazing at Bristow's Bristo, they took bit long to prepare it but output was admirable.

This hotel is a 1920s restored building once used as a residence of Sir Robert Bristow, the British Engineered who built the port of Kochi. It also has a fully restored lighthouse mast from those times. The location of the hotel is right in the old heart of Kochi - Fort Kochi. It's a 10 minute walking distance to the Chinese Fishing nets and a 10 minute rickshaw ride to the other side of Fort Kochi which hosts the Mattanchary Palace and Jew Town. The hotel itself was very good, with a nice tidy... Read more

This hotel like many hotels in Fort Kochi has retained all of its quaint character and on arriving it felt like a step back in time. It is not a modern hotel but heritage style. The rooms were very large as was the bathroom with nice toiletries. We had a garden view room but we could sit outside our front door and see out over the Arabian Sea. The internet worked very well in our room, but perhaps not as strong in our children's room. Breakfast was included and you ordered from a menu with both w... Read more

This heritage bungalow is a small, quaint hotel, which has admirably preserved the character of the original architecture, while integrating the modern amenities. The room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was quite big and luxurious. The corridor along the rooms looks out to the sea, and has quite a good seating space if you want to spend some peaceful time. It has a great location - it is right on the sea-front, and the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the sea. We enjoyed a wonderf... Read more

Cost was the same as a budget hotel in UK but so much more. The welcome was great after a long journey from the western ghats, quickly orientation us to this 9 roomed ex colonial building overlooking the sea. the room was very large and the shared glassed on veranda outside the room with seating gave excellent sea views. The bathroom was also huge and spotlessly clean with marble throughout. The food was also great. We ate in the bistro both nights and the service was excellent. Laundry took les... Read more

The hotel is located on the sea front. It is a 10 minute walk to the busy road that houses the Chinese Fishing nets, tourist shops etc. It is 5 minutes from St Francis Church and the lanes around it still hold a quaint charm for a unforgettable morning walk. Staff is very polite and helpful. Pool is clean and outdoor seating is very enchanting.

Is it a bungalow? is it a hotel? It is both and an awesome experience. The whole place exudes old world charm. I have stayed only for a night but have already decided that for my next trip to Kochi, it has to be Old Bristow. Location, location, location! Add to that super upkeep of the property, smiling and courteous staff, good food and one has ticked off all the points. All the attractions of Fort Kochi are nearby and sea is just a jump away! I'd say super excellent.

I had been travelling around India for a month and wanted to spend a few days relaxing before travelling home. I had been to Kerala before and it's a beautiful part of the world. Everybody at the hotel are so warm and welcoming. It is a perfectly located and easy to get around. Nothing was too much trouble. The massage at the spa are not to be missed. The food and view of the Arabian sea is lovely. My room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. So glad I chose here and would highly recommend ... Read more

For a sea front property it was value for money given that other similar hotels were priced much higher. The staff were extremely nice and courteous. Conveniently located in Fort Kochi with most sights a 10 min rickshaw ride away.

The location of this hotel is excellent. We got a room with balcony facing the sea. Room was very clean and spacious. Hotel in itself is very beautiful. The beach is next door, which we enjoyed. The hotel grounds are very nice, with sea view at most places. Pool also looked nice. Negative point was the service during dinner. We had to wait for unusually long time with slow service. The excuse given was that there was a VIP delegation that was dining at the same time. If that was restricting them... Read more

We had 2 nights in the Old Lighthouse, known locally as Bristows. Room 3 was lovely, with a great bay window seat overlooking the garden and pool. The double front doors opened to give a view of the sea and the wonderful sunset. We were in Kochi at the end of the Onam celebrations and the hotel hosted us to visit a special Onam party and Onam Sadhya lunch where we met King Marhabali and saw the Kathakali dancing.

Starting with compliments for this hotel is not as easy as it may look, because I don‚??t want to put anything first or last. The heritage building in itself is charming enough, but then there is the staff, especially the new manager, who has only been there for a few months but seems to be in complete control of everything that happens, always with a smile and always friendly and helpful. Then there is Mr. Anil at the reception desk, who let us change our room, when we wanted to be in the first... Read more
