This is one of the best locations in Kochi. An island which was connected to the mainland in last lustrum. I would call this as a exotic location with a vintage palace proclaiming the glory of the past, excellent view of the port from west, luminous city view at east and rest of the view are of the backwater and the Arabian sea. Sprawling garden, yacht club - and yachts, horse riding, mini golf area, a new mega convention center in the neighborhood by Lulu group, Container terminal etc. Never ... Read more

For us this was an amazing experience considering it was part of an extended honeymoon. We had a treehouse room and in the center of it was a glass floor, that allowed you to look down onto the water. The whole thing was wow!

Its the staff that I had real trouble with. They don't know any language to communicate with the tourists. What's the point if you can't speak in English or Hindi and your are trying to welcome guests from across the world. They would like you to speak in their or international language. Not Malayalam. This is against tourism. I wouldn't want to come back to Kerala because of rude people.

Just imagine you are comfortably perched in the balcony of your hotel room overlooking the marina and watching huge dark clouds filling every inch of the sky then most probably you have checked in into Bolgaty Palace Hotel in Cochin. Just relax and listen to the footfalls of monsoon. Indulge in aroma of authentic malabar cuisine. Don't think of tomorrow. Forgot your office keep your worries for tomorrow. Worship the raingod today and enjoy Meghmalhar the monsoon. I'm just doing that.

We stayed here as part of a holiday package booked with KTDC. The resort was merely looked like a park. Pool was not big enough and we hardly saw anyone by the pool. Rooms were neat and tidy. Better to book the rooms looking the Kochin waters. The night and morning views were splendid and good for those who are into photography, especially when it dusks and dawns. Meals were really average when compared to the other KTDC properties. The dinner was a buffet, not much impressive. It was the sam... Read more

A Kerala tourism product. Bolgatty palace , nice ambiance and good service . " Very Bad food they providing in their restaurant ". Not at all tasty . I tried few dishes . I felt bad about their food part and very high price and vat and tax . Couples can spend time inside the palace , gardens, golf play ground , marine lake views shore walk , boat ride , palace visit .

The location is in the best part of the city. The staffs are very cooperative. The rooms are very neat and well maintained. The scenery from the rooms are awesome and beyond words. One should go and experience it. There are so many facilities for enjoyment including boating, gymnasium, games zone etc. There is swimming pool to relax and exercise. Food is super. The complementary breakfast is good.

Visited the place as part of work conference. Wi Fi is available only at the reception building. So be aware of that limitation. We saw the palace suites. But it was muggy. We stayed in the deluxe room - it was actually much better and got a good view as well. Food is decent and the swimming pool is ok. The golf holes are all filled with weeds and are trimmed. Surprised that people still golfed there. Overall - decent. But if the amenities are maintained well; it will be a lot more worth it.

+ good scenic beauty + good atmosphere outside + good for a week end stay, for adults as there is no recreation for children + respecting the effort to maintain a historic place Recommendable for Med-low budget resort stay! Although other better maintained, options are available... - below average room quality and maintenance -below average food at breakfast, better foods are available in any other hotel at that price -staffs and professional touch is missing

The very first thing you will suddenly notice as you struggle your way through the hustle and bustle of the concrete city, is the lush green and peaceful island surrounded by water bodies in middle of nowhere. The property is divided into two parts where the first one houses the bolgatty palace- the largest dutch palace outside Holland. The palace has got it's own set of palace suites which are bit costly. This block also houses the reception along with restaurant, spa etc. The second block, whi... Read more

Approaching Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort my mind was skimming through the various pieces I had read up about the Dutch in the Malabar region. As we reached the island, the thought of staying in the premises of a heritage property had completely possessed us. But soon the excitement turned into a huge disappointment even after getting an upgrade to stay in one of the heritage suits! As we checked into the room in the resort section we realised there was issue with the air conditioning. We w... Read more

We stayed here in Dec 2015 and we found it to be quite well maintained. Our apprehensions of it being a govt property were unfounded after we found the staff to be very courteous. We took a tour of the Dutch palace and i guess the location is the best you could get. The breakfast could have been slightly better. Rest all was fine.

The scenic beauty of the island is awesome. The backwaters offers scintillating moments. We can enjoy the fun (activities) being conducted by the resort. The resort has become a prime location for film shoot. It offers a wonderful ambience to those who stay here. A drawback observed by me is the lack of professionalism in welcoming and guiding the tourists. If this part is corrected, the resort will obviously be an ideal spot for both domestic and international tourists.
