Beautiful resort, beautiful location, poor management by KTDC. Sad to see an amazing heritage property being destroyed through neglect . Sarkari Chalta hai attitude everywhere. I wish they maintain the property and its antiques in a better manner. The food is poor in variety and taste. So eat outside or get delivered. The massage at the spa is good and worth trying. A great place to laze and spend the day by the poolside watching the fab views. Connectivity to Ernakulam is by ferry every 30 min.... Read more

This hotel is hidden away from kochi by a ferry ride and a bike ride away . Away from the hustle bustle , we decided to brave the afternoon soon on our rented bike , taking the ferry ( jungle) ride to Vipin Island. Once there , it was a short ride to The Bolgatty. The place being owned and managed by the local govt tended to be little distant in their demeanour - yet their lunch was simple and served well . The place is an old palace - needs little refurbishing and paint but still a quaint c... Read more

Kochi is our starting point of our Kerela trip . We started from kolkata morning 6.50 am by spicejet on 23 Dec 16 & reached Kochi at 4 p.m after changing flight at Bâ??lore. We made lot of research for selecting hotel at Kochi and finally booked KTDC Bolgatty Palace & Island Resort . The resort is almost 36 km away from Kochi Airport .It is a Dutch Palace converted into heritage hotel .The place is very scenic, surrounded by backwater with flora and fauna. After making almost 10 hours journ... Read more

This is another resort managed by KTDC and they are doing a really good job. The hotel is an old palace now converted into a resort with sea on both sides of it. The richness of wooden work in the hotel is awesome. The view from the pool and open court is fantastic as it overlooks the harbor (next to famous Cochin Shipyard). Rooms are large with attached balcony - relaxing place to spend your evenings. They have central along with individual AC for each room. The restaurant serves nice variety ... Read more

I have visited there during last year monsoon. The best thing of this hotel is it's view. I have booked a marine view room. View from the room is excellent. From the balcony of the room you can see see huge lake of kochi, marine drive. Ships are sailing throughout tge day. Fishermen are roaming around with there small boats. What I have experienced from the balcony is thunderstorms. I can't experience in word the beuti of this. The main building is a dutch palace, most probably built in 18th cen... Read more

We went with our family and we were thoroughly disappointed. The hotel has so much potential however the general upkeep and management is terrible. My room was so musty I had severe allergies and had to change rooms. In spite of doing so, I needed to take medication. The cushions on the bed had liquid stAins and bathrooms needed to be tended to as well. Out of the 3 showers I took- 2 were cold because the hot water system had not been started. So all rooms had cold water. The food was terri... Read more

Stayed with Family in the Palace hotel suites. What can I say about that? ne of the suites have been previously stayed by the previous Prime Minister of the country. The other one was where the current President stayed. Suite had 3 rooms - one bedroom, one powder room and one sitting/living room. the bath area was massive. But the best thing was an enormous Patio (you can fit a volleyball court there) overlooking the lagoon Note : As it is in a lagoon area, there are mosquitos. Please bring you... Read more

This resort is one of the kind as it is an extension of a Dutch palace and they have maintained it well. The rooms we got on ground floor was spacious as it had high ceilings and a garden view balcony. It was centrally air conditioned. The hotel staff is helpful and restaurant is fine. We had very good as well as average food here. One can roam around in resort itself and it does provide good views of lake.

My wife and I are world travelers, we have stayed in numerous challenging accommodations, but this establishment is without a doubt a '1' at best. Plaster falling off walls, incredibly old and outdated (worn out), no internet anywhere (don't believe the web site), room missing fridge, no safe locker, absolutely no security on door when u leave (closet style lock), food in restaurant was terrible not to mention the service. If you are looking for a quiet evening, forget it, the closet style roo... Read more
