Everything about Grand is beautiful. The food, the ambience , the building itself that has stood the test of time. My parents have many memories as two young people in love meeting here for a meal. I visited the place and realised why they loved the place so much when I visited it. In a time when all new architecture is about use glass and ugly ACP panels, Grand is a memory of the Kochi we have all loved :)

Went for lunch here with my Dad and brother. We had couple of beers and the Ammachi Fish and Grandma's chicken. It was spicy and literally reminded tasted nadan. We also had their Fish dum biriyani, Malabari Fish curry, and beef stroganoff. Though the stroganoff was not excellent, the Malabari Fish curry was a star. The Fish Dum biriyani too was yumm and had good quantity. Dad very much liked the Malabari fish curry telling that its been a while since he had a nice nadan fish curry like that (lu... Read more

Pros: old hotel with renovated large rooms Comfy beds, neat washrooms. Cons: They just don't serve ny food if you order them between 4pm-6:30pm. As i checked in at 4.30pm after a long drive, they said kitchen was closed and will open at 6.30pm only. Finally, after several requests they brought salad and boiled eggs.Hotel administration should do something about this considering the fact that many hotels nearby has 24hr coffee shop.Otherwise, the hotel is just fine.

Bed comfortable. A two night stay at the end of a great trip through Southern India. Staff helpful. Towels fluffy and very good hot water. Air conditioning a plus of course. The bar only served beer and wine. Beer was cold which was a plus. Unfortunately no cocktail hour a minus.

Everything about this hotel and its restaurant was above par. Stayed here "near" railway stations and walked 15 min to ferry to visit Fort Cochin. That worked very well for me. Good shopping nearby off of Marine Drive

We had two nights here as part of a Peregrine tour. The beds are comfortable, the water hot and the beer cold. Staff very friendly and obliging (had minor problem with our room key, but were quickly sorted out.) Easy walk to shops. Had breakfast, one lunch and one dinner here. Food very good, and served reasonably fast, considering the crowds in the restaurant.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and couldn't be happier. Clean, cool with a/c, terrific staff at counter, housekeeping and door. We ate at the resturant for 2 nights and the Indian food was good, but not the other cuisines. Serves us right for trying anything but Indian in India. Lovely cold beer at the bar!! It's hidden away and not publicised at all!! This is Kerala, with its temperance policy! It's the coolest bar that we've been to for ages! So good to sit down with a cold beer after a... Read more

Few years back Grand was one of the best hotels worth for its tariff. However it has lost it charm and needs a revamp. As its located at the heart of the town this is always a preferred location for visitors and provide easy acess to all facilities.

Not near the Beach, Back Waters or Sea facing, we chose to stay in this hotel since it was centrally located in MG Road and was near to our work place. The Hotel is also known for its food/restaurant. The AC Double room that was allotted was smelling and when we brought this to the notice of reception and requested we were changed to another double room which was decent. The beds were slightly small for a tall person. AC was perfect and the Bathroom was spacious. Room Service was decent and we h... Read more

This place is chock a block during lunch and there is a reason for it- they have good naadan food. The meals with a nice karimeen pollichuthu to accompany it is to die for. There is adequate parking, the service is good, but the local cuisine is at it's best. This is a must visit restaurant, no matter how long one has to wait

Decent rooms, brilliant ballroom, mouth-watering food but not such a friendly staff. Well priced rooms and fairly priced menu. Clean bathrooms and quiet spacious rooms. No pool. Not close to tourist attractions but close to malls and work places. Despite all the negatives the food is to die for. Very creative menu, flawless service, very good food. In the end a good hotel.

I visited the grand hotel with family and relatives and was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, prepared with genuine ingredients. The hotel is centrally located and accessible with free parking and valet parking. I recommend to try the "kareemeen pollichedu (kingfish)", biryani and ask for the daily specials.

If you are a sea food fan, and fond of Kerala style non veg food, this is a must visit restaurant. Quality and quantity are superb. Their meen pollichathu and ammachi 's chilli fish are mouth watering. Tasted many items from the menu, none is added with any sort of food colour. Never created any problem for stomach. A must visit place for Kerala sea food fans

Stayed for a night felt very cozy and nice, in fact felt like staying for another night! rooms a very spacious, u really feel that you are staying at a HOTEL, unless other branded hotels, where u r confined to box style rooms. wooden finishes and its furniture's gives it a good antique look. its a bit old hotel, but reasonably maintained.service and food is excellent. B'fast buffet is reasonably ok. Overall a wonderful stay and definitely it would be a memorable one.

One of the best places in Ernakulam to have good meal in a perfect ambiance. Very reasonable prices for the services/facilities provided. I believe the sea food served at this place is authentic to Kerala - Class added to it. I am more than happy to have chosen this place for dinner.

Stayed at Grand Hotel after a very long time. Centrally located. Close to railway station. Thanks to Uber and Ola for a good ride to hotel. Checkin was smooth. Rooms were neat and clean. Bathroom toiletries were average. Television size is more like a computer monitor, needs a change!! AC control was not good. Breakfast was fine with their standard appam and stew. Had dinner at their restaurant, was not as great as what it used to be! Overall a decent hotel for one night stay.

This is a place I have been eating at ever since I was kid . The meals here used to be the best in Kochi for me . But of late I feel the service and meals isn't that good. It's a good idea to go early for lunch or dinner because it can busy here . If you go in late the waiting time for a table could go well into an hour. The karimeen polichathu and mutton dum biryani are my favorite dishes here . Probably the only reason why I would go back there .

The rooms were clean and large. The bathroom were larger than most hotels in India. Not a great view from the rooms but it is quiet. If visiting Fort Cochin it's a bit of ride. The walls are thin and hallway noise can be an issue.

This hotel is old and a bit tired. My room was musty and a had a very noisy air duct outside the window, which also affected several of my group in nearby rooms. The staff were efficient but not especially welcoming. The restaurant had very good food for lunch and dinner but the breakfast was pretty modest.

Our norm is to fix a night in advance at any new destination and take a day to get the "lay of the land" so to speak before lining up the rest of our stay. We made the Grand Hotel choice over the internet because it was central appeared to be moderately priced and showed good amenities. The hotel is utilitarian and nothing more though the food was good. The best thing about our booking was that we were hooked in to the travel desk who also do the airport transfers. We were able to arrange a grea... Read more

The hotel is centrally located, right on MG road and close to the railway station. Rooms were clean and maintained fairly well and the service was good. Major highlight of this hotel is its restaurant which is hugely popular among the locals and serves delicious and authentic Syrian Christian cuisine. Prices are slightly on the higher side. Overall, a good option to stay while in Kochi.
