I stayed here for 2 nights and found the rooms and facilities to be of a high standard. Staff were helpful and friendly especially when we wanted food when the restaurant was closing. They were happy to oblige. The breakfast is served in a roof top restaurant but is very basic and choice is limited. The stairs could be problematic for some visitors. Location is excellent and good for shops, local market and chinese fishing nets. Wish i had more time to have a good look around the area.

A nice conversion of a very old colonial house on four floors with a beautiful wooden central staircase (and no lift - if you're not as nimble as you used to be). In a quiet area of Fort Cochin it's literally just minutes from shops, attractions, and restaurants. Our room was comfortable with a nice bathroom, and air conditioning - vital as we had a 34degC February heatwave. There's a downstairs restaurant which we didn't try out and a rooftop restaurant where we had an excellent breakfast. ... Read more

We were to stay here for the last 2 nights of our Indian adventure. What a disappointment. The hotel was dark and the rooms were dark and uninviting. We had a balcony with an awful view of a backstreet. We arrived quite late and food was being served in the restaurant by reception which was more like a cafeteria. We didn't bother and had some biscuiots and water in our room. Breakfast next morning was very poor compared to what we had previously experienced. There was nowhere to sit outsi... Read more

Stayed here for 2nights in the pleasant Fort Kochi. The rooms were very comfortable and the managers were very friendly and helpful with information. Was a lovely place to come back to after a day exploring! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend!

I booked this hotel because of its very high reviews. So I expected a lot. Well, the location is great. Bang in Fort Kochi, there is so much to do around and so many good places to eat to choose from. The rooms are clean and service is Ok. But the dinner buffet wasn't good. Breakfast was passable. The hotel is more catered to foreign tourists than Indians.

I was traveling to Fort Kochi with a friend for a short stay enroute to a wedding. Hotel Arches is a beautiful, quaint, and well-maintained hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by warm and friendly staff with a welcome drink. Our room was clean, and bathroom spotless. The AC and fan worked, though the power generator occasionally went off for a minute or two (but this was the norm in a lot of other buildings in Kerala. It's only a slight annoyance that subsequently became endearing). On our last ... Read more

Located in the centre of Cochin, near St.Francis Church, Chinese nets and Princess Street. Nice colonial style hotel, comfortable rooms and very kind staff. The rooftop terrace is fantastic at breakfast time. The area is safe and very quiet.

The hotel was selected based on Trip advisor reviews. The room was a bit small though it's facility was matching that of 3 star's. I was bit surprised to find that the property didn't have parking. But I discovered later that most of heritage property around was similar with no parking. Location wise it was very ideal with all attractions at a walkable distance. Nearby you have restaurant and bars if you feel like checking out the delicacies. Breakfast was good though the spread was limited. Ver... Read more

Fort Kochi shoreline is just 1 minute walk so its gr8. Hotel ambience is pretty nice. Buffet breakfast has very limited options but is on the rooftop which is nice. Reastaurant is basic and food was ok. Staff behaviour was very good. Room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. Only two red flags- Dont keep the room door open for more than 5 seconds because there are lot of mosquitos but no mosquito net in room. Our first night was ok but on the second we had to shut down the AC and turn on t... Read more

We stayed at Arches for a weekend, and it was a great experience. The quaint rooms, the corridor and the breakfast was superb. A Small balcony attached to the room, and the wooden steps etc are all very vintage...1 minute from the shore, and the famous Fishing nets, it's great location to explore the Fort Kochi area. The owner is very friendly and helped us explain the area etc. The shower could do with a lil upgrade on the flooring, but apart from them, very good experience.

This hotel was a last minute booking for us as one of our other arrangements fell out. We booked 2 rooms for 5 people. The rooms were very reasonably priced, very clean, and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The included breakfast in the morning was also delicious, with the staff preparing food as per our requests and liking. A special shout out to staff members Vishnu and Praveen for being extremely helpful and making our stay even more comfortable. We had the chance to meet the ma... Read more

Hotel Arches is a very convenient Heritage Hotel right in the heart of the tourist area so you can walk to many sites or take one of the abundant auto rickshaws. The hotel is very nicely set up with a delicious breakfast included. The manager and staff were so friendly and helpful. They set up a Backwaters tour that was amazing. Also arranged an Ayurvedic massage right around the corner. It was very different but great. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Plus I had a very comfo... Read more

We were made very welcome at the hotel. They have a lovely roof top resteraunt for breakfasts and lunches and ground floor dining room for dinner. We tried and enjoyed the local dishes and on the last eveing the dessert was the lightest cake i have tasted for ages. The room was comfortable and well stocked with bottled water, tea, coffee etc. Close to the historic chruch of St Francis and an easy walk down to the waterfront and fish stalls.

Hotel Arches is in the heart of Fort Kochi, but located on a quiet street. What more could you want? Air Conditioning brand new and strong, beautiful roof top free breakfast buffet over looking the oldest European church in India, and for a reasonable price. They have a downstairs restaurant for room service as well. The hotel is only two floors with 10 rooms, with large sitting areas and a business center with a computer and fast internet on each floor. The wide wooden stairs are easy to wal... Read more
